I checked in and went right to sleep. During the night I found the toilet did not flush. In the morning when I requested a new room the clerk (owner?) started an argument claiming that I must have damaged the toilet. I was originally going to stay two nights but I checked out and left that morning

This hotel has all the basics. It was comfortable, and the staff was friendly. The hotel is located in an alley next to a couple of bars that can be kind of loud at night, but this wasn't so much of a problem with the windows shut. Would have been nice if there was AC, but there was a ceiling fan. It's hard to find a better rate in this part of town. Would probably stay here again.

Our daughter was air lifted to UCSF Medical Center. Before we left Seattle, to drive to be with her, we called the hospital for hotel recommendations in the area. They suggested ABVI in SOMA. I called and spoke to Hasu. He was very kind and we arrived two days later. The hotel is older, with creaky floors, but very clean and homey. There is a nice morning continental breakfast. We were able to walk to the Mission Bay hospital (30 minutes each way). Saved us $30 parking, per day, at the hospital.... Read more

If you are looking at this place as a cheap alternative to something more upmarket, it is a comfortable place to stay, and the price competitive . The rooms have decent bathrooms, showers, and the beds are clean and comfortable, they are equipped with iron, and ironing board. There is a fair amount of noise that can be heard from the hallways with noisy guests, at 2am, and you can hear televisions from next door, at whatever hour. You can also clearly hear toilets flushing, and showers being ru... Read more

Hotel was clean and in a relatively safe area of San Francisco. Price was good for a place where rents cost more than most people make in a month. In the morning we had a good cup of coffee a delicious croissant and blueberry muffin. San Francisco is not so great but this place was pretty darn good.

Should have looked at the pics. Nasty place. They charge your card when you make the reservation so you can't get a refund once you see the poor quality of the place. Worst stay ever! Old, smelly, brown water out of the pipes, no coffee in rooms, old old furniture. We even checked the beds for bugs before we slept on them. Our group left this place sick

Pros: Great value Clean lobby, room, shower and private bathroom Friendly and helpful staff Comfortable beds Nice shower/bath tub with good water pressure and plenty of hot water Good location with easy access to freeways, points of interest, etc. Counter to some reviews, the neighborhood felt safe to me Fridge in room at no extra charge Cons: No air conditioning and ceiling fan is too slow to make much difference (ask the staff for a tabletop fan) Little counter space in bathroom Valet or str... I should have read the fine print better before booking. This hotel was clean but no A/C. Luckily, San Francisco weather was bearable when we opened the windows. Unfortunately, since the windows were open, the noise from the street was really disturbing. Construction going on the building across the street made for lots of noise early in the morning. So you either slept in a stuffy room or woke up by 7am. Not ideal if you are on vacation. During the morning hours the cable did not work. We could... Read more

No Parking!!!!! Really? We did managed by parking on the street, but it means circling a bit to find a free parking at evening and watching the signs to see if it's a free night or a cleaning night. The room was small, had a smell, the bathroom is dated, well, you get the picture. Wroth it for less than 100$, not more. The lite breakfast very light, coffee and danish. There is a microwave only in the lobby but the platter doesn't spin so your food doesn't heat up evenly. When I told the clerk ab... Read more

I was nervous about this stay since there were mixed reviews. Overall, the Inn met our needs and I have no complaints. The room and hotel were clean, but a little worn. There is no A/C but this wasn't a problem with the cool bay breezes. As mentioned by others, there is some noise from the bar downstairs, but not a problem for me. The staff was accommodating and the valet parking ($28/day) was convenient. Good food within walking distance and public transportation is nearby. Neighborhood felt pr... Read more

We stayed there from July 22th to the 23rd and had bed bugs in our room! The first one we saw was in my friend's hair after she was laying in her bed for a while!!! After looking closer, we found a couple more on the beds. It was so disgusting and we went straight to the front desk. They gave us a new room on a different floor but still, we didn't feel very good about laying in those beds and put towels on top of the pillows. Also, the blankets were dirty and the overall impression of the hotel... Read more

Very simple, there is not neither a vending/soda machine. The parking lot is $35 per night and the front desk personal... using headphones connected to a mobile phone... It sounded strange for me. The floor is made of wood and you can hear clearly what the guests in the upper apartment are doing. The water temperature of the shower was good for me, but not for my wife and sons.

I booked this place for location and price . In actually there now , leaving tomorrow . Whilst I always gauge a place by both price and location , what I haven't considered in waking up covered in flea bites . Yes - flea bites from head to damn toe . This place looks ok from the outside . The rooms LOOK ok but then again you don't see them through a. Microscope . Be warned . Stay here and end up bitten to hell. Your choice

This hotel is fine if you're low maintenance. Dated and hallways are scuffed up but room and bathroom were clean. The staff were nice and helpful. Feels like a European hostel and we were fine as we knew we were saving money. There is a heating unit in the room but no AC. We walked to the fishermans wharf which was a bit far with the hills and stops to really enjoy and parking can be difficult but we were able to use meters and avoid the pricey valet/garage expenses.

Room must have been upgraded from previous reviews. Had refridge, flat screen tv, working complimentary wifi and comfortable bed. Liked the room very much - try to get on the 4th floor as it allows u to see SF skyline. Great low price for room in a convenient location south of market. No complaints just that parking charges were excessive - $35 per night.

We stayed 2 days at this location on our recent trip. The Hotel is clean, rooms are relatively small but no sharing bathroom (many places in SF don't have private bathrooms) and the location is good. Now the things that were not so great is (of course) no parking so be prepared to pay for the valet depending on the size of your car (from 30 to 40 $ a day), rooms don't have coffee machines or microwave and the location although downtown, is not the best. Around the hotel, there is no bigger groce... Read more

Location is about the only up side to this place. Old squeaky floors, you can hear people walking at all hours of the night, paper thin walls, no microwave, internet never works, you'll be lucky if a page loads in 10 minutes (not exaggerating). Shower was like a water blaster with no pressure control. Key card stopped working twice during the stay and had to be reset. Often quite loud late at night from outside. A few days there was no housekeeping. Will never set foot in this place again.
