Clean and comfortable. Close enough to the San Diego Amtrak station to walk -- though the cab ride is so cheap, why walk? Good hotel. Bayside view rooms are quiet and have spectacular view of the harbor. Will the staff please contact me and tell me where I can buy a duvet coverlet like that? Loved that. -- Gave one dot less than excellent because I did not find a hot whirl pool by the pool. But maybe I just didn't see it.

Front Desk Attendants have a poor attitude. I arrived early and was told the rooms were not ready. I was good with that so they asked for my phone number and said they would call me when they had a room available. A couple of hours later I went back and asked if they had any rooms available sherry I belive was the girl at the front desk said no, yet some of the people that I was meeting with had already checked in, so I waited another hour and went back. Found this hotel to be very thing we needed for staying prior to our cruise. We stayed in tower three on the tenth floor. Our room looked over the harbor and was only a 300 foot walk to the terminal. The hotel has a free. Shuttle from the airport, but also a free shuttle to various sites in the city. With three pickup times. This was a great hotel. Clean, nice, very secure. Only complaints were at check-in they only had 2 people working the desk, so it took about 30 minutes in line, and the parking was very limited and difficult to get to. I circled the block 4 times trying to find where to enter.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Wyndham Bayside Hotel. This was our second stay and we invited a couple to come and stay at the Wyndham Bayside as well and they enjoyed it as well. The only thing I hoped for was a discount on the hotel room since we encouraged another couple to stay there too.

Location can't get any better in the Little Italy area. Across from ocean and ships, one block away from the trolley, great area for restaurants and bars, and a lot of events held and park next door. Rooms are reasonably priced, very clean and updated, looks like downstairs was getting updated, secure parking that wasn't too expensive. I recommend this hotel for a family or couple looking to be in a central location outside the gaslamp district.

This hotel has received an overhaul recently, that was evident. However, new carpeting and bed (very comfortable) cannot make-up for the thin walls. I was awakened by people in the next room three of our six-night stay and one morning by people in the stairwell. I complained to the manager who gave me a decent adjustment, she was very nice. Great room with bay view. Solid walls and floors prevented excess noise. Great service...except at the hotel deli. Daytime service was great. Smiling happy staff and very busy. Evening/night staff were the grouchiest people I encountered on this trip. I came in two nights and left the second because the young lady was so unfriendly. Service is everything to me.I walked to Little Italy (5 minute walk) and had a great meal.

The AC temperature control wasn't working and the room was freezing. The repair guy came and then after he "fixed" it the room would only heat and stayed at 80 degrees. We had to switch rooms. The second room wasn't cleaned very well. Found socks and hair in the second room however the AC did work correctly. The Internet never really worked despite spending over an hour on the phone with the IT guy. He told me it's just really slow and not great. Overall I was very disappointed with our stay.

Odds are you won't have to deal with repair people on a scaffold out side your balcony blocking the views of the bay or the banging of major repairs being done. This older building seems to be falling apart with scary looking cracks in the balcony! Unbelievably ugly art work in the lobby, very load ventilation system noise outside, ridiculously expensive inadequate parking (tiny stalls that most cars didn't fit in, resulting in many cars using two spaces), and 4-star pricing combined to make t... We were promised free parking during the phone call reservation. Then when we made it to the front desk (not 10 minutes later) it was not included. After explaining what we were told on the phone, along with some bs from a manager about how parking is never included in any SD hotel (which is also misinformation), we were given free parking as discussed over the phone. Overall, once we got past the parking issue, it was an easy stay, with a clean room. Next time going with a Marriott.

In my opinion the hotel is overpriced. We spent 3 nights there. As a rewards member we earned points for 2 FREE nights so we only had to pay for 1 night. What a deal right!? Wrong! $26.00/day plus resort fees, taxes oh and the upgrade fees to get a room on a higher floor and bay view. We paid over $500.00 for 1 night??? The shower drain was clogged so we had to get that fixed. The shower floor is grimy and dirty. The hotel is noisy from people partying all night. The best part of the hotel is t... Read more

Great location. Rooms are very small. Barn door style door on bathroom doesn't provide much privacy. For those of us who must work a little the speed of the Internet makes what should take 10 or 15 minutes a minimum of 30'. Tried different times of the day but slow no matter what.

Stayed here with my son over the 4th July weekend. Location was fantastic, staff were very friendly, room was comfortable and clean, and pool was great. Unfortunately there were a couple of things that let this place down, no fridge or safe in the room and no tourist information available. Also, they were trying to get people to go to a presentation on Wyndham points or something, and you couldn't walk around the lobby without being bothered by this. Also, they could not believe that I wasn't in... Read more

I would gladly stay here again. We booked our stay for a few days trip after the fourth. We had a 2 double bed room. This is my only complaint. I didn't realize how small these beds would be. I'm used to 2 bed rooms having queens I guess. Normally my wife and I share a bed and give the children a bed (7 & 5) but we found that the beds were too small for 2 adults so we had to split up. Our room was in tower 3 and city view. We had a nice balcony to sit on and enjoy the nice weather. Note that... Read more

Harbor lights, excellent restaurants, bars, and sightseeing within a short walking distance, the Wyndham San Diego has much to offer at a not-too-prohibitive price. City taxes are rather high. The property is uber clean and the staff, knowledgeable and gracious. The negatives... Nice view, but look at that steel pole Mickey moused with wood to support that balcony. We stayed at the Wyndham San Diego for 10 nights on our first visit to this city. The room was nice and clean, but certainly not fancy. No major issues with our ling stay and a good thing we spent most of our time out and about. The hotel was conveniently close to all the major roadways. We rented a car and had to contend with parking. The hotel charges $26/day! Good thing there was plenty of street parking around. I really liked this hotel. Very clean, beautiful views, a 15-minute walk from the convention center and very reasonably priced. The only complaint I have was that the wifi didn't work. As I was there for business, this was an issue and I ended up in the nearby starbucks every day to get connected. This former Holiday Inn has gone through a nice face lift. My room, on the 6th floor in the east tower was clean, well appointed, had comfortable bedding, and was fairly quiet for a "resort" property. The new double-pane sliding doors to the balcony contributed to how quiet the room is. Wonderful. Now, let's ruin a wonderful opportunity for rest with the "Eco-friendly" thermostat. Our entire stay was filled with construction right outside our room; we were on the sixth floor. When they gave us our room; they did not tell us this. The hotel was booked solid for Comic Con; so we couldn't switch rooms. Why schedule construction during this time? From 8am to 5pm we heard pounding and metal grinding. No naps for us! This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we??ve had in a long time. The hotel property is tired and worn. The worst aspects were to discover the closet was located IN THE BATHROOM! And, there looked to be giant squished dead mosquito in the sink. Lastly, our view was overlooking a very ugly rooftop.
