Clean and comfortable. Close enough to the San Diego Amtrak station to walk -- though the cab ride is so cheap, why walk? Good hotel. Bayside view rooms are quiet and have spectacular view of the harbor. Will the staff please contact me and tell me where I can buy a duvet coverlet like that? Loved that. -- Gave one dot less than excellent because I did not find a hot whirl pool by the pool. But maybe I just didn't see it.

Front Desk Attendants have a poor attitude. I arrived early and was told the rooms were not ready. I was good with that so they asked for my phone number and said they would call me when they had a room available. A couple of hours later I went back and asked if they had any rooms available sherry I belive was the girl at the front desk said no, yet some of the people that I was meeting with had already checked in, so I waited another hour and went back. They gave away our room though guaranteed. We are disabled, had no bellman, teenagers were drinking, throwing beer bottles and carrying on in hotel. They pulled fire alarm, staff, didn't know what to tell guests. Didn't get room until l 1/2 hrs later. Had to stand!!!, As far as we were concerned they hotel did nothing right... Read more

Found this hotel to be very thing we needed for staying prior to our cruise. We stayed in tower three on the tenth floor. Our room looked over the harbor and was only a 300 foot walk to the terminal. The hotel has a free. Shuttle from the airport, but also a free shuttle to various sites in the city. With three pickup times. It is a short walk to the USS Midway, the Fishhouse, and the Maritime Museum. Any interaction we had with staff was courteous and helpful. Would stay again if in San ... Read more

So I was sent to San Diego for work training and the host hotel was the Wyndham. I figured well, since I'll be in San Diego for the week, might as well take the family for a trip. I paid for two extra nights for my family and I, so we can have some family time. The first indicator that things were not going to be smooth was when we arrived our room wasn't ready. The receptionist wasn't to friendly just told me my room isn't ready that they had another room available and that we could move the... Read more

This was a great hotel. Clean, nice, very secure. Only complaints were at check-in they only had 2 people working the desk, so it took about 30 minutes in line, and the parking was very limited and difficult to get to. I circled the block 4 times trying to find where to enter.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Wyndham Bayside Hotel. This was our second stay and we invited a couple to come and stay at the Wyndham Bayside as well and they enjoyed it as well. The only thing I hoped for was a discount on the hotel room since we encouraged another couple to stay there too.

Location can't get any better in the Little Italy area. Across from ocean and ships, one block away from the trolley, great area for restaurants and bars, and a lot of events held and park next door. Rooms are reasonably priced, very clean and updated, looks like downstairs was getting updated, secure parking that wasn't too expensive. I recommend this hotel for a family or couple looking to be in a central location outside the gaslamp district.

We came in for some much needed R & R. The locations is great, as it is near Little Italy, Gaslamp District, Trolley, Harbor side. If you did not want to you would not have to rent a car as there are plenty of activities nearby. The service from the front desk, Valet, to House keeping were all very friendly & accommodating. Room was a nice size and very clean and well kept. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area by the bay in San Diego. I will be back on m... Read more

This hotel has received an overhaul recently, that was evident. However, new carpeting and bed (very comfortable) cannot make-up for the thin walls. I was awakened by people in the next room three of our six-night stay and one morning by people in the stairwell. I complained to the manager who gave me a decent adjustment, she was very nice. Management needs to go room-by-room and tear out the walls, add sound insulation and replace the in-between room doors with sound proof doors. Other minor ni... Read more

Great room with bay view. Solid walls and floors prevented excess noise. Great service...except at the hotel deli. Daytime service was great. Smiling happy staff and very busy. Evening/night staff were the grouchiest people I encountered on this trip. I came in two nights and left the second because the young lady was so unfriendly. Service is everything to me.I walked to Little Italy (5 minute walk) and had a great meal.

The AC temperature control wasn't working and the room was freezing. The repair guy came and then after he "fixed" it the room would only heat and stayed at 80 degrees. We had to switch rooms. The second room wasn't cleaned very well. Found socks and hair in the second room however the AC did work correctly. The Internet never really worked despite spending over an hour on the phone with the IT guy. He told me it's just really slow and not great. Overall I was very disappointed with our stay.

Odds are you won't have to deal with repair people on a scaffold out side your balcony blocking the views of the bay or the banging of major repairs being done. This older building seems to be falling apart with scary looking cracks in the balcony! Unbelievably ugly art work in the lobby, very load ventilation system noise outside, ridiculously expensive inadequate parking (tiny stalls that most cars didn't fit in, resulting in many cars using two spaces), and 4-star pricing combined to make t... I called the front desk around 10pm to let them know we would be arriving after midnight. The lady that I spoke with was not friendly but said she would add that note to our account. When we arrived at the hotel it was about 1:30 AM. Our children were sleeping in the car and we were all exhausted. I approach the front desk to check in and the desk cle... Read more

I recently stayed at the Wyndham for 5 nights for a conference. As this was a business trip I needed to actually work when I was at the hotel. While the room was comfortable for a single traveler it was virtually impossible to do any work because of their non-existent internet connection. The room was okay. It smelled very musty every day, even with the air conditioning turned on. It was a very small room - so small the closet was in the bathroom. There was also minor cleanliness issues -- like pen drawings all over one of the comforters and peeling wallpaper in the bathroom. I also cannot stand when people try to sell me stuff in the place I'm staying -- and this place definitely had people trying to sell timeshares. I reviewed this hotel before and at the time thought the hotel was at top of the ratings. However, I am less impressed this time. This is suppose to be a three and a half star hotel so you would expect that certain amenities would be available especially if you're paying over three hundred dollars a night for a bay side room. They don't have refrigerators in the rooms and when I requested one be put in one of the rooms, I was told you can't make the request until you check in due to availability... Read more

We were promised free parking during the phone call reservation. Then when we made it to the front desk (not 10 minutes later) it was not included. After explaining what we were told on the phone, along with some bs from a manager about how parking is never included in any SD hotel (which is also misinformation), we were given free parking as discussed over the phone. Overall, once we got past the parking issue, it was an easy stay, with a clean room. Next time going with a Marriott.

I imagine that this hotel is good for tourists as it is right off the main "drag" and within walking distance to a number of major attractions along the water. The Wyndham Hotel and parking garage are a great solution for cruisers. It's nice to be able to walk across the street and board the ship, and it enables you to take advantage of expedited disembarkation at the end of your journey - a real plus! The location is also beautiful and there are nice restaurant choices nearby.

Everything is great about this hotel from the shuttle to and from the airport and other desired locations, to the location in the city right on the waterfront, and including the facility itself. Just choose this hotel.

Horrible hotel! Way over priced, bad service, several things in the room didn't work and no compensation at all. Not friendly either at the reception.I would never stay again and wouldn't recommend any of my friends staying here.

Simply the best view around. balconies. Excellent staff, they upgraded our room to a two room suite. Nice amenities. Fridge is always a plus for us.

Very comfortable room with Bay view. Floor 12 in Tower III, gave us a panoramic view and easy access to the city for exploring. Opposite the cruise ship we were about to board which was a great way to start our holiday. Very close to the airport, so handy but a bit noisy. Air con very noisy.

You can't beat the location across the street from the Amtrak and walking distance to most places, and they provide a free shuttle to other points of interest. Beds are very comfortable, soft pillows, etc.

The first night, I regretted having a room with a view of the bay. Noise from the busy street, hotel entry (next to Claim Jumper), and a repeating horn from a cruise ship mingled with frequent "Ding Dings" from the elevator and kept me awake. The view wasn't great anyway. Across a busy street, you see a paved shoreline with big boats parked. One boat is Star of India, a tall ship of historic importance, but it certainly is not as beautiful as you might imagine a ocean horizon would seem. The sec... Read more

The hotel is decent and sits on an excellent location. The staff was very nice and welcoming as well, the only thing that ruined my trip was that the walls in my room were too thin. Saturday morning around 7 am I can hear kids screaming and running around, I call front desk and advised them of the situation, they called the room next door and asked them to calm down, they did for about 15 minutes and then back to the kicking and screaming, really ruined my get away that weekend! Also, my view wa... Read more

I stayed here from 11/25 - 11/27 because its where my wife was set on staying for her birthday. When I went to book rooms with my Rewards Points I found, on the Wyndham website that there was no availability. I called the Reservations line for my level (Platinum, closing in on Diamond) and was told that there was no availability. A few hours later, perusing a discount travel website, I not only found availability but it was much cheaper than the "Best Rate Available" and even the "Go Fast" for... Read more

I travel to San Diego almost every week and this place has been a bit of a home away from home. In addition to the great location, the staff is quite welcoming. In particular, Raymond at the front desk always recognizes me by name when I walk in the door and greets me by name before I even get to the desk.

The hotel and location was beautiful. The rooms were amazing the only problem we had was the heat wasn't working in tower 2. So the room when we arrived was like an icebox. We had to turn off AC and ask for more blankets and a space heater. They offered to switch our room but our whole group was in tower 2. After the blankets and heater arrived everything was great.

My room was in tower two with an excellent view of the harbor and the maritime museum. I was there for a convention and was able to use the train to go back and forth to the convention center. The location is great with attractions close by. The staff were great and my room was very nice and clean. I would definitely stay here again! One of my days there I was able to watch the bay fill with sail boats and sail around until almost sunset!

Very nice hotel. Excellent location on the bay. Excellent services, although the "heated" pool was a little cold. Internet speed was good. Hotel price was reasonable, but parking was kind of high.
