"Hotel is not in a great area. There were lots of people 'hanging around' the parking lot and lots of yelling from others around the streets. The room was set up nicely but the air conditioning unit is only located in the sitting room area so it got quite warm in the bedroom. Our kids were sleeping in the fold out couch (room was a junior suite) in there so they would have been freezing if we had kept the air on too high. Also, the door dividing the sitting room to the bedroom didn't have any curtains or blinds to block out light from the bedroom so when our kids had to go to bed, we had to keep our lights off so they wouldn't be disturbed. Very inconvenient! We did only stay for one night so it wasn't all that bad, but we will definitely not be going back."

"the name wyndham has traditionally carried an above average reputation.
somehow.. wyndham put their name on this Motel. I expected a quality venue, but it was simply a Best Western in disguise.
staff was virtually stoic. No breakfast.
The Jr. Suite was nice...but couldve been nicer.
if you were hungry you had to go to a nearby restaurant.
So if youre expecting Wyndham... be ready for Best Western...
oh yeah.. and make sure you put the Do not disturb sign on your card access scanner... they starting banging on the doors at 8 am... what in the world!!!!"

"When we first got there everything was going smoothly. It was not in the best area but it was ok. The check in clerk was checking me in then she stated my check in date was sunday and not saturday. After going back and fourth for about a minute I was glad I had my reservation paper to show I was to check in on saturday. She stated Im sorry I must have my dates mixed up. Then heading to the elevator to go to our room the cleaning lady was waiting at the elevator with her cart when the elevator came she jumped on the elevator with her cart. There was no room for us to get on. We had to wait for the elevator to come back and get us. What happen to guest first. Then at 2am in the morning someone was locked out of their room so they were banging on their door. At 9am we had ants. At 915am we checked out."

"The hotel was okay. I give it a 6.5. When I first got there to check in everything was going smooth till the worker told me my check in date was not till Sunday. I knew for sure I put Saturday. "We stayed at the hotel and paid $168 for a two day stay. The hotel was pretty good for the price. I mean, you get what you pay for. The carpet was a little dirty but the room was big. It would have been better if there was a fridge and a microwave. Overall, it was okay and the location of the hotel was perfect. There is a bus stop right in front and it will take you to Old Town which is only 10 minutes away. From there you can transfer to the trolly which will take you to downtown; US Midway, Gaslamp, and little Italy. You can also walk across the street from the hotel and take the bus and go to Mission Bay and Seaworld. We purchased a 2-day pass at the Old Town station, 11 dollars a piece and it was well worth it. Don't waste your money on the tour buses because the transit system is easy and will take you everywhere. Plus it's a quarter of the cost."

"when i got to the hotel there was along line to check in.after driving for 3i/2 hours i couldn't wait to get into my room.i don't recommend for anyone to stay here if your tired . all i heard were people arguing all night. It seem like people lived here, Not a weekend getaway. and the restroom toilets don't flush!!!!! The drapes didn't close they stay open all the time so no privacy not to mention the bright lights at night in your face.This was one of my worst hotels I have ever stayed.

"Upon arrival personnel was very pleasant. The room was fairly clean. On Saturday the air conditioner went completely out and the refrigerator froze up making up lose all of our food. Bringing this problem to their attention they offered and 10% discount to Dupars. The restaurant 'Dupars' that the hotel uses was very filthy and extremely poor service and very over priced."

"Overall, the hotel was clean and nice. However, the AC nor the fan were working well, it felt stuffy in the room. There was no cable, although the description of the hotel said it did. At the pool, there weren't any towels to dry off with, and when we told the attendant we needed towels, she only brought a handful and not everybody got a towel. In addition, the refrigerator wasn't cold enough for our food/drinks we had brought and there was no freezer in the fridge. I am definitely going to think twice before booking with this hotel again."

"I proceeded to my assigned room with my husband and grand kids. As we stepped off the elevator we were greeted with bird poo along the edge of the walkway. We entered to our room that had a musty odor. The kids immediately jumped on the bunk beds only to find old popcorn on the top ledge of the room divider. There was also old food stains left on the kid's tables and stools. It was disgusting! staff was very helpful with changing our room. This room was a bit better but the rooms are very worn. Clearly, the only money spent on this hotel was for the appearance of the lobby. The bottom of the bathroom door was decayed and the carpets were filthy. The bathtub stopper barely stopped the water. There was only one wash cloth in a family suite. On day 2, while walking in my room a dog ran in our room, he jumped on the beds and wouldn't leave. The kids were running and screaming, we were trying to grab the dog and The owner , who was a guest who clearly violated the weight limit for animals, tried to grab him but his collar came off. It was a scene straight from The Lucy Show. The staff was very understanding and nice. The hotel should be ashamed. The hotel has a perfect location but there are some improvements that need to be done. Families want to have nice hotels to stay in too. Your rates are high enough to give your customers clean carpets, walls the are not decayed, walkways free of bird feces, and clean sanitized rooms. Also, I love and have dogs but there were too many large dogs on site. It put a small damper on the vacation for me because this had been our favorite place when traveling with the kids but we won't make this mistake again.

"wow first room was 2 full size beds and we asked if could change rooms yea give us a king bed with a sleeper and see here shoud had got the room with bunk beds and had to pay $35.00 more for that on top of the $300.00 we already paid on here 'This hotel was dirty, in a horrible part of town.beds was like sleeping on a rock.It was dirty one of their fountains had green water in it it was horrible i told staff about it no towels for the pool had to call staff to bring some the first day could not get no one to answer the phone to bring towels to get towels parking the car was a joke too small of a parking area if your looking for a nice place to stay with your kids you don't want to make this place for your stay DON'T STAY HERE"

"The hotel was located in.. for lack of better words... The Ghetto. The parking was horrible and the space provided was barely big enough to park a regular sized car. We actually had to all climb out the drivers side door once because it was so tight. It is in a bad part of town surrounded by bars and street people. The staff although very friendly were not prepared in the pool area with towels as they said they were but when called brought more. The room was clean. This hotel was not what I expected. I wish it would have been more specifc about it's location. I would have liked to have been somewhere a little more family friendly and just all around nicer. If you were going alone or with a group of party goers it may work out just fine. I was not happy with my experience"

Getting from the lobby to the rooms a totally different story. Very down at the heels. The entry to the rooms are outside doors. badly in need of paint. Two of the three ice machines didn't work. "We booked and stayed 14 nights. We had a junior king suite with a family of 4. The room was clean and confortable. While the wi-fi was free the connectivity/reception left something to be desired. Value for money was excellent and the location was central. I would stay there again."

"My family stayed here for spring break. There were four of us in the deluxe room. If all you were going for was a good place to sleep and bathe, it's fine. Good air conditioning, comfy beds and clean bathroom. I have to say the facility was not on the caliber of the other Wyndham Garden hotels I've stayed at, since they obviously took an old motel and upgraded it. The room we had was clearly not meant for 2 queen beds, hence the tight quarters. The free WiFi was dreadfully slow, and for some reason they kept stocking 3 towels when we clearly had 4 people staying in the room. One bonus was being next door to two great restaurants. Lastly, don't plan on checking in early - they don't allow it."

"Reserved a 2-queen bed room. First put us in a suite with full size beds which just duesn't work with teenage kids. Then requested they move us to a room with 2 queen beds. They moved us but ithe new room still had full size beds. Beds weren't very comfortable. Woke up with back aches! We were on the first floor and we were close to the maid service room so there was loud banging very early in the morning and then the carts rolling down the sidewalk past our door were very irritating. Rooms were older and repairs were not done well so it was very noticeable. Also, I waited forever to print off a ticket in the business center that had 2 computers but only 1 had a working printer and that computer was extremely slow. The staff was friendly, but this felt more like a inexpensive motel."

"Our room was great, but the sofa bed was a little hard to sleep on. The mattress was too springy, could use a little more padding. We heard some noise from ontop the balcony, but the security guard took care of the problem quickly. All in all we enjoyed our room and trip. ASlso we were located in a good spot as well. Thank you."

"We arrived Fri, Aug 10 around 1130 pm w/our very tired grandchildren. Our room (319) was hot which took us awhile to run the airconditioning to cool down and it smelled musty and like vomit. We were too tired to complain.
I mentioned it next morning and informed the receptionist we would be out of our room for the majority of the day. She apologized but did not offer to change our room. We returned Saturday evening at 1100 pm after a long day at Sea World and the stench was not resolved but slightly better. We were not offered a different room and at check out I again mentioned it to the receptionist and an apology was all that was offered.
The accomodations were not what I expected and I would NOT recommend this hotel to others."

"The hotel was OK. Not really sure what we were expecting, but it was a little disappointing. All of the rooms opened to the parking lot like a motel. Once inside the rooms, they were nice. It had a microwave and small fridge in the room. The bathroom/master bedroom was a little strange and cramped, but all we did was sleep there. The front room with the pull out bed worked for my small children. It gave us our own room and their own room for sleeping. Minimal channels on the TV, but OK overall. Our stay was OK, but we would probably try something else the next time we travel to San Diego. The location was good for Sea World and Mission Beach."

"We booked a 3 night stay at Wyndham and stayed a total of 5 nights. We had the most amazing 6 day vacation in San Diego and I believe a HUGE part of it was this Hotel. It was centrally located to everything we did. The staff was friendly, helpful, very knowledgeable in regards to transportation options and even at drawing maps for us. It was very clean and EVERYONE we came across was VERY friendly, this includes the pub and restaurant on the property.
I would HIGHLY recommend this establishment to anyone staying in San Diego."

"Loved our stay at the Wyndham Garden San Diego! From the moment we checked in the staff were so friendly and really helpful. We stayed in a family room that has a dividing wall between the parents' king sized bed and the kids bunk. Loved he fact that there is a separate 'dressing room' type area with very long sink plus clothes hanging and suitcase area outside of the toilet/bath/shower room. Only negative I can give it is that I found the pillows uncomfortable - but that might be just me.
The Du Par's restaurant on site is fabulous - we had breakfast there eery day and dinner 4 times in our week there. Travelling with kids means you eat so much garbage food on the road so it was great to have an on-site restaurant that cooks up home style meals. Staff there were also really friendly and the manager had some very good advice for us about one of the attractions we were planning to visit.
Overall a 10/10 experience."

"We stayed one night at the Wyndham to see a show at the arena across the street. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was nice and clean. There was plenty of parking and lots of great places to eat within walking distance. I would happily stay there again. :)"

"Overall, I enjoyed staying at the Wyndham Garden San Diego. It was a very convenient location near shops and restaurants. The main reason for our trip was for SeaWorld which was less then 5 minutes away from this location. A few cons about this place is that the swimming pool was attached to a 24 diner which made me feel uncomfortable to relax in while the bar faces the pool. The gym is not located on the site of the hotel which was inconvenient. Also, the Wi-Fi did not reach to all buildings of the hotel. I believe the staff could have been more welcoming and nicer. Also, font desk should keep a wine opener for guests to use."

"Room was okay. Room was right at the elevator. Make sure you get a room away from the elevator...the elevator isn't loud but the people coming and going are. Ants started to come in the bathroom towards the end of the trip. A few burn holes in the window shades. They should patch those. Overall, it was a good value for the money. Was a bit difficut getting to the freeways from that location if you dont have Nav. Poorly marked on the streets. Would stay there again if a better deal/location couldn't be found."

"The rooms were clean and nicer than I expected. The first person we worked with checking us in had a ton of recommendations for places to eat and visit. The TV wasn't great and didn't work very well, which wasn't a big deal because our trip wasn't about watching TV. The wireless internet went out and the front desk person told us that we had to make a service call about it. The internet wasn't fixed for the rest of our trip, which was a bad thing. I had a terrible experience with a rude front desk person, which was unfortunate because other people had been so friendly. I spoke with the manager about my disappointment with the service I received from the one particular person, and she handled it well. Overall, it was a pretty nice, clean and efficient place. Bathroom was a bit small, but if you get a junior suite there is plenty of living space."

"There were a number of things listed on the hotel website that turned out not to be available once we arrived, including airport and business shuttle. The restuarant and bar wasn't actually associated with the hotel and was very poor quality. We expected it would be nice since it was a Wyndham and because of the pictures we had seen online but the hotel and amenities were very low quality. Also, the gym was not on-site and while available to guests did not have much traditional equipment. The staff was friendly and tried to be as accomodating as possible."

A great area with quick shopping nearby for necessary items that were forgotten. Parking was a little tight during the holiday weekend when it was busy, but thinned out during the week. "When we booked at a Wyndham property, we thought it would be a highrise one-building hotel. When we first arrived, we were disappointed that it looked more like a motel than a hotel, but when we got to our room, we were very pleasantly surprised. The room was spotless and spacious, the bed was very comfortable and the shower had wonderful pressure. The location of this property was perfect for our needs since we went to the San Diego Zoo on Saturday and to the Chargers/Vikings game on Sunday, both very nearby. The price of a Saturday night stay was reasonable. For all of these reasons, we definitely would choose this hotel again when we visit San Diego."
