Having stayed here previously for my 5-year anniversary in one of their simpler Spirit Pad rooms, I learned that there was much more to experience at Tower23 and I did not hesitate to move up to the Sweet Suite for my 6-year celebration this year. First off, I was absolutely impressed with the overall cleanliness, facility, staff, and amenities (my partner especially said she LOVES the restrooms). At least in my experience in the 2 types of rooms I've tried so far, everything was just as consist... Read more

Chose this particular hotel particularly for its location (right on the beach, can't get better than that) and size (boutique, always has more charm and appeal than a big chain) and for those factors, Tower23 delivered. The room was a lovely size and airy and gave directly onto the Tower Deck (which was a nice feature for us, as we were sharing the room among friends and wanted more space to hang out - side note, though having access to the Tower Deck may bother some as it gives directly onto t... A very well priced hotel, located in a hub of activity just north of downtown San Diego (approx ‚?¨30 taxi). Rooms lively. Clean and spacious with balconies overlooking the beach - wifi excellent and staff very friendly. If you need access to the convention centre, taxis are best booked using uber app. Otherwise if you like surfing, that's available directly on your doorstep ! Highly recommended.

We stayed a few nights in a Surf Pad room at the front of the hotel. Great views of the pier, the passers-by and the surfers kept us amused for hours! The hotel is comfortable, with nice décor and a chic feel about it. Food in the restaurant was excellent, as was the service.

Love this hotel the style is great and sun terrace with a little plunge pool is great. The view across the pier and access to the board walk make it a great position. Its good for access to la Jolla but a bit far from downtown gas light district. It has parking and a nice beach front bar and resturant.

I stayed with my teenage sons and we all loved it! The location is prime right on the beach and the room was very nice, comfortable, and clean. Restaurants, shops, and boardwalk were right outside. The best part was the staff always friendly, available, and willing to help! This was probably the best family vacation spot we've had and will most likely book again for next year. I have recommended this place to all my friends already. We did not want to leave.

Hip place, but fortunately in addition to the young hipsters there was plenty of space for families to do their thing as well. Consistent failure of the electronic keys was a bit of an irritant, but that would be my only complaint. Great deck overlooking Pacific Beach. Free bikes to cruise the boardwalk was a real bonus! Thanks to valets Ivan and Dave for assisting us with the bikes and all our comings and goings during the week. Great guys.

This is the place to have a casual, last day, business lunch. Went there late, but asked for an outdoor table. The waitstaff is, surprisingly, attentive and good. The (seafood) appetizers are well priced, and served quick. The entrees (had the Lobster Club - special) also came quick and reasonably priced. If you'd like to indulge in (after meal) drinks, well this is definitely the place to be. Plenty of "eye candy".

Based on the pics I thought we would get a nice room with a jacuzzi tub since the rates were so high but alas our room only had a shower. Small rooms. Nice packages but not smoothly delivered. The room also had a balcony but it was over the noisy outdoor dining area. The restaurant was delish!

I wish everyone could experience the ambience, location, and superior service of this luxurious beach front hotel. Our family travels overseas every year for nearly a month, and by the time we get to the last hotel we are generally ready to be home. Not this time. Our last 5 nights of our California holiday were relaxing, regenerating and breath taking. We had a surf pad, and we could have stayed in the room for the entire 5 days and still had an amazing time! The sea was right in front of us, a... Read more

Great hotel right on the Pacific. Incredible views from the room with fantastic sunsets. The restaurant in the hotel has a lively and classy cocktail bar and restaurant that one would expect in a boutique hotel of this caliber. It is right across the street from the beach and is a great place to watch the sun set. The room was perfect with a modern minimalist aesthetic. The bed was very comfortable. We had breakfast at Kono's Cafe next door which was delicious and oh so cheap. We ate break... Read more

You've seen the pictures - it's on the beach - great views, but be wary my TripAdvisor friends, all is not what it seems to be. Here's the reality - my wife and I stayed there in October, we're in our late 40's - we are romantics and totally in Love. We wanted to like Tower23, but it is so stark and uninviting. The hallways are boring white with no artwork or passion, and the rooms and staff seem to be the same. We woke up on a lazy Sunday morning to a the front desk telling us that we had... Read more

Minutes from La Jolla to the North and a short stroll south toward Mission Beach along the boardwalk will give you a locals perspective of life along the San Diego shoreline. Hillcrest is not more than 15 minutes by cab, only ten minutes to Old Town and the Old Town Trolley station where you can ride effortlessly into San Diego's famed Gas Lamp Quarter, Seaport Village and Petco Park home to the San Diego Padres. There is no detail that has not been thought of. I LOVE this hotel. Great location, fabulous views with an amazing room layout. There is also a really good restaurant JRDN, that is in the hotel. It's a small well designed boutique hotel with lots of amenities & a staff that seems happy to have you there.

With an unbeatable location. Tower23 has mesmerizing views from their rooms aside from the uniquely structured rooms. The hotel restaurant JRDN is really good as well. The hotel itself is small but extremely well designed and hosts that are as pleasant as the venue and location. Highly recommended. -- A drop of ink may make a million think. @AyaashPaw (FB + Instagram + Snapchat + Twitter + Zomato)

Tower 23 is a hotel for younger people as it does not offer comfortable seating to lounge about. The deck is beautiful with lounge chairs offering a beautiful view. However inside the hotel there is no lobby per say and the lounges on the 2nd or 3rd floor are ultra modern and minimalist. The same can be said about the little terraces each room has as well as any other chairs inside the room. They are chairs for sitting but not fou lounging or relaxing. Older couples may prefer to stay elsewhere ... Read more
