I stayed here for a convention. The friendly staff and a clean room with a comfortable bed made this a good place to stay. It is next door to a Westfield shopping centre with easy access to shops and restaurants. It is about 10 mins walk to the convention centre.

My flight landed about 11:30p and I immediately contacted the hotel to inform them I was in route. A guy by the name of Andrew (overnight worker) was very helpful and friendly. Once I settled in the next day we awaken and searched for a breakfast place. I stopped by the front desk and met him. I also asked the concierge service for assistances and Catherine was beyond helpful. If I visit San Diego again I will be staying at the same hotel because of these two people.

We were unaware of the limited parking in that area and so we had to use the hotels valet service. It was high in my opinion so I let the hotel know my disappointment in this area. They were attentive to my concerns and offered to make it right! Thanks Miho Hirata! We will be back if ever in the area and will make sure to say hi!

Too expensive, too unhelpful and in serious need of an update in the rooms. Location is nice in the city close to shopping and restaurants and the bed are probably the most comfortable beds I have slept in for a while so this was great. However you can find that the room needs updating with broken bathroom door and scratched walls. But what really was disturbing was their false advertisement with "Westin hotel and RESORTS" and they then charge you 20 dollars per night as a resort fee although ... Read more

My wife and I enjoyed a great weekend stay at the Westin Gaslamp.  A few highlights: - We booked a "Premium view" room and had a great view of the harbor.  (Note: the other Westin in San Diego is slightly closer to the water than Westin Gaslamp - but you'll get a great view of the harbor from either hotel if you get the right room). - Pool/ spa area was very nice - everything looked clean and relatively new.  And the heated pool was actually warm in November! - We had brunch at the hotel r... I've been to this hotel at Horton Plaza shopping center many times. The hotel has been refurbished recently, not sure when, but it's looking very good. The quality and international standards you'd expect from a Westin. Kind and competent service. Getting there is easy. You could take a taxi from the airport for less than $20, but if you really want to save money, you can take the public bus #992, which goes right from the airport terminals (just look for the bus stop right outside each termin... Visited San Diego and treated my spouse to a couple of great games at the "Q"! Arranged for flowers to celebrate a birthday and Daisy was on top of everything. The room was spectacular and the service impeccable. Great food, awesome service and a stunning location in the middle of Gaslamp district. I recommend this property not only for the amenities but for the people. Mahalo Daisy for making this weekend very special!

Been a Starwood Platinum member for almost 20 years and this trip just confirms why. Checked in with Tommy at the front desk and he upgraded us to a corner suite on the 12th floor - with a sunset view none the less. 30 minutes after checking in we get a knock at the door and Giovanni delivers a complimentary bottle of champagne with a bowl of berries. I went to Luther College with Marriott CEO Arne Sorenson and I hope that this is the standard of excellence that the combined companies carry f... Read more

We stayed five nights. The room is ultra modern and quiet but we were on the preferred guest level. My fiend stayed in the room while I attended an art workshop for three days. One day the room wasn't cleaned until late afternoon. While the room was very clean we had to call several times for facial tissue and didn't receive any until late evening. The bathroom is only big enough for one as there is a single sink and not much counter space. Maid always left more than ample toiletries. Most of t... Read more

Wow! This place looks amazing and their service is one of the best! Everyone here makes you feel like you want to stay forever. My sister and I decided to have a sister-bonding weekend and we wanted to give ourselves a treat, so we choose The Westin. Good choice, we were welcomed by Nadine who was friendly and engaging! She was effortless and swift while handling our check-in process! My sister and I were undecided between a spa treatment and a massage, considering the limited time we have... Read more

Stayed for four nights for a conference. The facilities were excellent and the rooms were clean and modern. The heated outdoor pool was very nice, especially when it was quiet early in the morning. Breakfast was nice, if expensive. Staff was helpful and friendly. My only complaint is the cost! Fair enough, it's a high quality hotel, so it's not going to be cheap... but they add on a 'mandatory' $20 a day for internet. Maybe it's just because I'm from the UK and not used to added charges, but th... Read more

Hotel staff were amazing! From the valet guys, concierge, bartender, etc, did not have one unpleasant encounter with any of the staff. We were staying for 6 days, my husband on business and me with my twin 17 year old daughters. The valet staff were so helpful with directions and ideas on places to see and restaurants. The concierge was also helpful and so friendly. Hotel rooms could use some help. No fan in the bathroom, shower extremely hot. Otherwise great location.

The location, the service, the restaurant on site, the beds/rooms, the CONCIERGE! I'm often stuck with chain hotels for work (this was a business trip) & most of them are lukewarm, at best. This place gets it right. Period. Shout out to SERGIO - he is an amazing CONCIERGE - he can read people pretty well & knows the area and what to recommend.

The hotel as such is not bad, but the room I was in was under the swimming pool apparently. There were all kinds of strange noises going on during the night. Location is good. Restaurant seems to be closed most of the time but you can get food at the bar.

Great location, excellent staff, very well kept, clean rooms, reasonable costs for hotel and cafe. This is in the edge of the gaslamp area so very close to a great area for restaurants and bars! Only concern valets parking little costly!
