I attended a conference and I like having the meeting/hotel on the same site. The meeting facilities were very good. The room was very spacious and quiet, but could use a little updating. The chairs and carpet had stains. Breakfast in the Regency club was very good and very convenient. Evening desserts were also very good.

very good holiday or business place to stay, great location, wonderful staff. I stayed for a conference at paradise point, but that hotel was sold out. Glad I found a good (and less expensive) alternative. The location is close to airport, downtown and beaches, and boat/bike rental right there too.

We travelled to San Diego initially for a convention and our first stay was at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay, location was good but a little out of town centre, close to the marina and Sea world easy walking distance. We upgraded to a Water front suite and were disappointed in the room as it was very basic compared to the tower this was organised through the convention people and was describe and charged as a upgrade on the tower accommodation, Staff were helpful and friendly, we used Uber as it... Loved this place. Stayed 4 nights ( not long enough ). Had a waterfront apartment overlooking the marina, was just perfect. Loved Red Marlin restaurant, pool area with bar/cafe, plus other food places was great. So nice in the morning out on the balcony watching the seals play. Would highly recommend. ????????.

Located in Mission Bay, San Diego, this hotel is crying for a make over. Almost like Cinderella in the Disney movie, this hotel clearly has the feel of a stepchild of the other Hyatt properties we have stayed at. The carpet was well worn most likely from families from days gone by and the windows in our room were caked with spray from the bay. A musty smell was evident the moment the door was opened and we did not see an elevayor, thus having to lug our suitcases up the wooden steps. Because... Read more

The Good: Service- front desk, bar, pool area Views from the hotel The margaritas by the pool The pool area- great water slides for the kids The Not As Great: Long walk to the beach Rooms could use a refresh Request a room away from the events area. They had a wedding taking place in a tent next to our room while we were there. Not so great when you have two kids trying to sleep!

While the price was good for the room (suite), the sofa bed was impossible to sleep on, nothing but springs sticking thru the mattress. Parking fee of $36.00 is outrageous. Better places to stay in San Diego.

I visited the end of June, for a birthday mini stay-cation, and stayed on the Regency Club floor to treat myself. I completely forgot how close the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay is to Sea World. There were as many children as adults on property and, I think, as many on the Regency Club floor. Unfortunately, the children were also allowed to run amok in the Concierge lounge during happy hour, and that absolutely ruined the experience of a happy hour (you know, a drink and a few tidbits to eat before ... Lovely property, mid range price. Offers views from just about every room. Hotel us surrounded by water and lots of boats! Good onsite restaurant ( Marlin). Expensive but really good. Breakfast/ brunch daily is until 11:30am and $24.95, but it's got everything you could want for breakfast and they'll cook an omelet to order. It even includes beverage so comparing straight menu prices it was actually less $$$ to order the brunch buffet. Several buildings, one tower. Clean. Simple. Ok exce... Read more

While we prefer Hyatt hotels for our business travel, I was not expecting it to be an equally great experience when traveling with our 3 year old and 6 year old grandchildren. They Hyatt Mission Bay went out of their way to cater to families during our weekend stay. The staff was sensitive to family needs and made our two granddaughters feel like VIP's at every venue. So, the hotel is billed as a 4 star luxury resort... not quite. Lower your expectations and we'll get you there. First off, we went as a family of 4 to just get away for a couple nights. It served our purpose and we LOVED IT!! My 8 year old exclaimed that it was the best hotel EVER!!! Why? Because it has 3 water slides of course!! Place in drastic need of refurbishment, and understaffed from check-in (room wasn't ready until 5pm) to housekeeping (some of my friends staying here would come back to their rooms after our kids' baseball games at 4pm and room still not cleaned). We were completely disappointed. It was a mistake staying here for a quick couples retreat. Even from the 12th floor, the noise of screams and laughter from the pool below was distracting. If you have children, bring the family, it looked very fun for the kids below. But, if you are in search of a quiet weekend, make sure your room DOES NOT face west. Overall, hotel was just okay. This hotel needs some updating. The door to our bathroom in our waterview suite was impossible to open and close without tremendous effort. The rooms have furniture that is scratched and dirty and stained and falling apart. It feels old and dingy. I would not recommend it, at least The older waterview suites. I'm shocked Hyatt would leave the "Regency" brand on this forgotten property. I will now question any Hyatt hotel carrying this monicker. The lobby is small and not functional. The one restaurant is so dated and not adjacent to the main building. Coffee in the morning? A five minute walk outside and down the boardwalk to a Starbucks wannabe. Are you kidding me? Don't even get me started on the rooms or quality of finishing in the common areas. "Tired" is as generous as I could be.
