I attended a conference and I like having the meeting/hotel on the same site. The meeting facilities were very good. The room was very spacious and quiet, but could use a little updating. The chairs and carpet had stains. Breakfast in the Regency club was very good and very convenient. Evening desserts were also very good.

Located in Mission Bay, San Diego, this hotel is crying for a make over. Almost like Cinderella in the Disney movie, this hotel clearly has the feel of a stepchild of the other Hyatt properties we have stayed at. The carpet was well worn most likely from families from days gone by and the windows in our room were caked with spray from the bay. A musty smell was evident the moment the door was opened and we did not see an elevayor, thus having to lug our suitcases up the wooden steps. Because... Read more

The Good: Service- front desk, bar, pool area Views from the hotel The margaritas by the pool The pool area- great water slides for the kids The Not As Great: Long walk to the beach Rooms could use a refresh Request a room away from the events area. They had a wedding taking place in a tent next to our room while we were there. Not so great when you have two kids trying to sleep!

I visited the end of June, for a birthday mini stay-cation, and stayed on the Regency Club floor to treat myself. I completely forgot how close the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay is to Sea World. There were as many children as adults on property and, I think, as many on the Regency Club floor. Unfortunately, the children were also allowed to run amok in the Concierge lounge during happy hour, and that absolutely ruined the experience of a happy hour (you know, a drink and a few tidbits to eat before ... Lovely property, mid range price. Offers views from just about every room. Hotel us surrounded by water and lots of boats! Good onsite restaurant ( Marlin). Expensive but really good. Breakfast/ brunch daily is until 11:30am and $24.95, but it's got everything you could want for breakfast and they'll cook an omelet to order. It even includes beverage so comparing straight menu prices it was actually less $$$ to order the brunch buffet. Several buildings, one tower. Clean. Simple. Ok exce... Read more

We were completely disappointed. It was a mistake staying here for a quick couples retreat. Even from the 12th floor, the noise of screams and laughter from the pool below was distracting. If you have children, bring the family, it looked very fun for the kids below. But, if you are in search of a quiet weekend, make sure your room DOES NOT face west. Overall, hotel was just okay. The hotel has a nice resort style layout with the pools in the middle, a cafe, restaurant, and gym near the docks on the bay. If you get a bay view, the sunsets are beautiful. The food was good at the hotel restaurant. The location ... Read more

Overall great experience. Wonderful location and beautiful and neat grounds/pool Courteous staff Quiet room and comfortable bed; rooms room smelled like smoke a bit but obvious effort had been made to mask the smell. Spa treatments were wonderful but a little overpriced I thought especially since they automatically added a 20% gratuity on top. Easy check in and

Stayed several days for a conference at the end of October. Large property with great views and multiple areas to walk. I was upgraded to the Tower and had the 7th floor view of the bay. Room was exceptional, however, shower head way too low. Maybe lowest ever. Although I enjoyed the ac the room provided, several people commented during my stay it was too cold and the thermostat did not really control the temp. very well if at all. Towers elevators were fast. Did not use the pool but the ... Read more

The hotel and staff were so friendly. The hotel was clean. Grounds were nicely kept. It was very costly to stay and eat. I thought it could use a larger workout area. The meeting rooms were extremely cold most of the time. Overall it was a very positive experience.

My family and I were looking for a good place to stay that was close to the MCRD for our nephews Marine graduation. The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay had great prices at $107 per night. Being a Hyatt Diamond member I upgraded to a "suite". That's where the positive items about this hotel stop. At check in I had to stand and wait at the Diamond/Platinum check in for almost 10 minutes. The room itself was okay... and worked for our overall needs. However it was not very clean. There were drip ma... Read more

The grounds are quite lovely with a beautiful pool area and Boardwalk. Rooms were dated and the food situation was awful. I was here for a conference and the Market was only open until 2. When I went down for breakfast very thing was sold out at the market. The little shop by the pool was also sold out of soda for three days. Many people were walking around looking for something to buy and there was very limited options for snacks when the market closed at two. The nearest option off property wa... Read more

I had a great stay at this hotel with family of 4 kids. Slept in a suite, waterfront. The room was reported as enough for 6 guests but we had no place for all. The hotel agreed to give us a rollaway bad for free. Overall the room was in good shape. Hotel was nice, view from the room to the marina was amazing. The kids enjoyed the pool and slides, it was a little cold due to the shadow until the sun arrived. The hotel is very close to the seaworld but far from the downtown (~30min).

Very nice room with great view, awesome amenities, nice location and very nice staff & service. I loved being able to get up every morning to go on beach walks. You have to walk about a mile to get into any real variety of restaurants but it's worth it. I was here for a business meeting and glad they picked this hotel!

I stayed for a week for a business conference. I was placed in one of the bay rooms. It was old, smelled of mold, had a toilet that continued to fill constantly and an air conditioner that didn't work properly. My colleagues who were also in bay rooms had similar experiences, especially with the moldy/wet smell. The grounds are beautiful and the tower rooms are very nice. The restaurant is overpriced

Enjoyed our stay in the tower overlooking the marina. Great views from our balcony and the pools and the lush gardens and cabanas reminded of us of hotels in Hawaii. We travel a lot and have stayed in numerous hotels and the feeling you get staying here definitely makes you feel like you are not in the city. The hotel has many buildings and would recommend to stay in the tower building overlooking marina.

So I go to check out and they have a resort fee they charged to my card, even though it's already noted in the PO that it's paid for. So my boss has to come out of his meeting that I'm already late for and call them through their number. Laura was even a little snippy until my boss called then after she was very friendly and apologetic. I get there are procedures but if I'm showing you evidence what's the problem.

To say the least, we were disappointed... The one thing we thought we didnt have to worry about, was our stay at the Hyatt the weekend of our wedding. Instead, my poor husband was forced to run around checking in and out of rooms the day of our wedding when he was trying to relax. We live in town, and it will be difficult to recommend the Hyatt to visitors in the future based on this experience!

Staying at the Hyatt is always a pleasant experience. In Mission Bay Hyatt, it is an incredible experience for me and my family to enjoy the views of the bay and have the tranquility of being on the end of a peninsula near the water. We love the pools and the food, and of course being close to everything in San Diego (like Sea World, which we just visitied).

I was very excited when I got to my room and saw the breathtaking views off my 9th story balcony. The room was very clean and spacious, the housekeeping staff was great, but two major things are keeping me from giving this a 5-Star rating: #1 (THE BIGGEST reason): Though the rooms and views may be thick with beauty, the sliding glass doors and room connectors are not. They are nearly thin as paper, as I learned throughout my 4-night stay. The seadoo rental place on the dock blasts LOUD music ... Read more

The family suite had dirty/stained carpet, the drapes were dirty looking and had holes, the wallpaper was peeling off the wall and dirty looking as well, the master room comforter was disgusting, it had dark clumps of something inside. Been here for a conference a few times. Beautiful location, can't beat the views, the Tower balconies are great to hang out on. But the place needs a serious update. Carpets, baths, beds, painting - all need some attention. It's time Hyatt. The Regency Club Room also needs some attention... Food was ok, but we were there for three days and could not figure out the layout of the place. Plates and silverware are in one room, under the coffee, while the food is in a second room... I like the Tower Rooms. This is a nice property and excellent location. Do not like the additional fees - resort fee and exorbitant parking fees. Thought some of he staff with less that I would expect at a Hyatt Regency - seemed unhappy and not as helpful as I would expect. The exception was Laura at the front desk - very nice.

Beautiful views, friendly, helpful staff, great maids so pleasant and hardworking. Good food - always enjoy Red Marlin and Swim. Nothing is ever perfect though and my chief concerns are about cleanliness of the drapes and condition of furnishings- both need to be replaced badly. Trade off is location, views, food and a truly great staff.

We were supposed to get two adjoining rooms and even called to double check. When we arrived they said that they messed up the rooms and we would have to be in separate buildings. The room that we went to was next to the elevator and we could hear it move, beeps and people in the hall. Most good hotels don't put guest rooms next to the elevator or do a better job with soundproofing. We wanted to move rooms but they said they were not able to. This hotel was all we hoped. We stayed in a tower club room on the 17th floor. The club snacks were great. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. The evening snacks were usually some salads, crackers, cheeses, breads. Better quality than I expected. Also the deserts put out were a nice touch. The hotel has more of a resort vibe. Arrived at 10:30pm after a long, cross-country flight and all I wanted to do was sleep. Upon leaving reception, I noticed some club music playing and thought that was odd background music for the common areas of the Hyatt Regency. While navigating the dark walkways to my room in the Bay II building the music became increasingly louder. I continued to walk on the 2nd floor towards my room and the music is getting LOUDER. Good location with attractive landscaping, but unfortunately the rooms especially in the low rise buildings are worn, dilapidated, tired, dirty and dingy. The carpet is stained and nasty and there are stains on the sofa. The front desk people were very nice, I kinda feel sorry for them having to deal with the complaints, etc. It's true if I was the Hyatt Corp I would be embarrassed to have this in my portfolio.
