I booked this hotel directly from their website. Got curious and checked trip advisor for reviews.. My heart sank when i read all the negative reviews here. Was too late to cancel. Anyways I'm GLAD I didn't cancel! The place may not be as luxurious and glorious compared to other places however it was VERY CLEAN, staff were courteous, the grounds were well maintained, the pool was nice! It was like night and day as to when i read the previous reviews beforehand. So appearance was not an issue. ... Read more

Was really disappointed. Thought they would at least vacuum the floor, but did not for an entire week. Bathrooms were constantly in need of attention around the hotel. Pool is right in the middle of everything, so if you are an exhibitionist, you will be fine. Staff needs some training on boundaries. Messed up on schedule and overbooked 2 conferences - was a disaster. Other conference did not order any coffee or drinks or snacks, ao they all came over and ate our items. Crazy what "free... I booked my rooms on Expedia- 1- Expedia's disclaimer clearly states that self parking is $18.00 however when I checked in I was informed that the fee is actually $25.00 per day. 2- I paid for 2 concierge level rooms, however at the time of check in, front desk wanted to give me 2 rooms on another floor other than concierge "with concierge level access", had I been a less experienced traveler, front desk would have probably gotten away with this. 3- Although the rooms are clean, they are outd... I staid here for a work convention. The rooms were nice‚?¶ And the service was also good. The only things that I was disappointed with was the time that I was able to check in, Internet costing so much, and their continental breakfast was ridiculously priced. Having just returned from Europe‚?¶ I would've expected to see a continental breakfast that not only was free but also very delicious.

Stayed here with my son for two days when we were visiting UCSD. Stayed 2 nights (Tue / Wed) and paid over $600. We had lunch (day one right after check in) at the bar consisting of two veggie burgers and one beer and it was over $45. The property was clean but a little old. You could tell that this property was once promoted as a "resort" stay but that seems to have been replaced with a business only feel. People were nice. Pool was nice. Hot tub was small but decent enough. The balconie... Read more

I checked in at midnight and i had a wonderfully cheerful desk agent check me into a room that was on the small side but for me it was fine. A family of 4 might not be comfortable. The bathroom is very small and looks a little dated like the rest of the decor. Still the rooms are very clean. They offer a nice pool, a laundry facility that is free of charge and a work out room. The restaurant is nothing to brag about and room service menu is...well, boring room service food. Parking is expensive ... Read more

The San Diego Mission Marriott is located outside of the city but conveniently located right by the freeway. The rooms are very nice, well equipped, and comfortable with good working AC. The bathrooms were older and outdated but were clean. At check-in and checkout the staff was very nice and helpful. My room included free parking (booked on Expedia) however if you don‚??t have free parking they charge an outrageous $25.00 per day. Additionally, unless your room includes Wifi (mine didn‚??t) it... The hotel is more than average good, its is comfortable, safe, the service is good. We booked here because it is close to Qualcomm Stadium (not walking distance though). Did not have time to use the pool but it has a nice one. The price though, I don't know, I guess its a little more than it should be but still reasonable.

Stayed here for a 2 days conference and, as typical with most Marriot's facilities, it was clean and convenient. Hotel is situated in Mission Valley just outside downtown San Diego. The location is very accessible and easy to get to from freeway. Hotel is close to a couple of Malls. Hotel itself is very clean, has a bar/restaurant and a small pool. The rooms were great with all necessary amenities. Conference facilities were really nice and it is great place to have a meeting. Staff was friendly... Read more

I stayed there last weekend and was extremely pleased. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and has plenty of amenities. My room was very comfortable and they had a very good breakfast buffet in the morning. The location was in a quieter area and they had valet parking or you could park your own vehicle. At any rate, knowing that the parking was protected was nice.

I stayed here with a conference on green energy. I got to the hotel early from the east coast and they were able to get me in my room. Room was comfortable and shower was very good. It had a nice balcony as well. We had a couple catered meals while there and the food was good. They had plenty of water coolers flavored with fruit though out the lobby and outside areas. Pool was nice area with cabanas. The hotel is right on the trolley line, so there was no need for a car to go downtown whi... Read more

Not a bad Marriott, but definitely not the best I have been to by a long shot. The pool was nice as well as the gym, most of the staff were very pleasant and helpful, however there were two main complaints from me. The first was that the elevators and rest rooms on the first floor were insufficient to handle the conference center traffic, and we were not completely filling all the meeting room capacity. The second was the bar staff was bare bones and the poor guy doing most of the bar tending wa... Read more

Located a very short walk to the green line on the Trolley line, but be aware the green line typically stops at 11 pm. Hotel is very clean with a great front desk staff. I stayed here for a business conference. Due to both cost and location, I would not have stayed here otherwise. It is pretty pricey for a Marriott, and not very convenient to shopping and restaurants. The onsite restaurant food was ok, but overpriced. Was unpleasantly surprised that free WIFI was not provided to hotel guests, no... Read more

Despite the convent location, I believe this particular Marriott is way overrated and way overpriced. It is no more than a 2-star hotel at most based on the following experience. The facility of the hotel is extremely poor. There is neither refrigerator nor the standard iron/iron board in the room. The room is so small that your suitcases have to be put right before your bed. When you open it up, there is no room to walk! The bathroom is extremely tiny that even the small single vanity sink ... Read more

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel for a conference, which included meals. The food was really good, served outside on the wonderful grounds. Our air conditioner wasn't working when we arrived but they fixed it right away. When I went to the front desk to tell them about the air conditioner I also told them that the room was dusty. The desk where the tv and coffee marker was on was dusty. It was never dusted once while we were there. The location is wonderful and the staff were helpful exce... Read more

We stayed at Marriott Mission Valley hotel for 2 nights from 15 and 16 July 2016. And I have to admit that it was one of the most negative experience for all my traveler life while working at Tour Agency. First of all, previously we stayed at Sheraton and Hilton which is about the same service standards. We have never been amazed by this hotels, but it was pretty normal, nor bad, nor excellent, but normal. But it worth its money. That is why we decided to try something new at this time and b... To start off with parking is $25 and there are not enough parking spots and they were very narrow. Arrived at 4 pm, checkin time and our rooms were not ready until 5 pm. The front desk was not at all helpful on getting our room ready. We had to search out another hotel employee at around 4:45 to finally get into our room. We stayed at the Marriott Mission Valley during San Diego Comic-con and overall had a very good stay. The property itself feels a little dated and could use some TLC here and there - like ice machines that don't work or doors that look really scuffed or aged (I guess I expect a little more maintenance for the Marriott brand). But the pool area is really nice, the fitness center is big, and the beds are comfy. Our air conditioning was adequate but because of the angle of the vent (not into the c... Read more

This is a great property, centrally located to all of San Diego. It is a Marriott so it is not inexpensive. However, with that price you get a modern structure with great rooms, heavenly beds, a very nice bar and restaurant with very good food. I have only two complaints. We stayed on the 8th floor and, at the time we stayed there the ice machine was out of service (those things happen). But to get ice meant either going up or down one floor through the stairwells which really desperately need a... Read more

I have to say that my preference is not for chain hotels, although I do stay at a number of them. In this instance we were attending a 5 day event at the Marriott Mission Valley, and it served it's purpose well, we had to attend a couple of off site events and the hotel was located convenient for them. The room was a good size and well appointed, and comfortable, but no view to talk of. To my tastes it is more of a business hotel than a destination hotel, but having said that. It does have a... 8 miles from airport, parking on site, wi-fi included, and walking distance to the many inexpensive eateries in the shopping center reachable by walking via the nearby overpass over the freeway, the San Diego Marriott Mission Valley is certainly convenient. We had a Korean War Veterans 65th reunion and had 400 for the banquet. The reunion was over a 5 day period and the hotel did a fantastic job accommodating us. The place is clean and well maintained. The dining room was the only setback. Not enough staff for the morning breakfast, lunch or dinner. Add staff and the restaurant would be excellent also. A great place for a large group.
