I had the pleasure of attending a conference at the Marriott Marquis. The rooms were well-appointed and the balcony view of the harbor was wonderful. I really loved the smiling service from the staff at the hotel. As a business traveler the wifi was above average - reliable and fast. Thanks for the great stay!

The entire hotel is well maintained and clean. The staff is very accommodating...bell hops, valets, concierge. The view from our room on the 25th floor over the marina was incredible. And the place is huge with a couple of place to eat on site. With no complimentary coffee in the lobby, though, you're forced to get your coffee at the on-site Starbucks. And if you want to use the wi-fi, you have two choices: go to the public spaces (in close proximity to where you can also buy snacks and drinks),... Read more

Great location in Gaslamp and adjacent to the convention center. Room was nice (standard higher end Marriott room) with an amazing view of the bay. Elevators in the south tower are slow as molasses. Very friendly and attentive staff. Lobby bar is fun and a nice place to meet colleagues. I would stay here again for business.

Hotel is at one end of the convention center, facing the embarcadero and Marina. With beautiful views of the Marina and across to Coronado. The location is within easy walking distance of the Gas Lamp districts with plenty of wonderful restaurants and bars. The hotel is a very large property and the two guest towers are connected through a main lobby with a good walk between the two towers. This is a terrific place to stay if attending a convention. Location was great! Rooms are average but clean. We were visiting during a convention so it was really crowded. There was a good bit of construction but they kept it pretty week contained. Two of the elevators were down and an employee noticed the extremely long wait for elevators and took guests through the service elevator. Great awareness and customer service by this employee. Concierge was nice but didn't seem very helpful with allergy friendly, organic or vegan restaurants.

The hotel is what I would expect considering its location. The food in the restaurants was really good. Room service was quick but I thought it was sub-par when it was delivered in bag, condiments in packets and plasticware. Great heated pools and easy access to the boardwalk and Sea Harbor.

Everything about this hotel was excellent. You couldn't get a more central location. Next door to the convention center, a few blocks from the Gaslamp district and not very far from downtown and the port. Checking in and out was a breeze. The rooms was wonderful and clean. The pool area was huge and it doesn't look like you would ever have to worry about getting a lounge chair

It's relaxing, whether your there to swim or not, just sit there to appreciate the complex. The rooms are standard Marriott. This is my go-to hotel when in SD. The hotel it's self is clean and has a modern design and appeal. It also has the best location, just down from Gaslamp on the marina. The staff is friendly and attentive. Make sure to get a bay view with a balcony for the best views of the marina and Coronado Island. I first want to say that I don't give 5 stars to many establishments ( you can check) so the fact that I only gave this place 4 stars says that I did like it. The room was spacious, clean and what you would expect. I will say that the AC was not central air and did not work very well. It wasn't too hot so it wasn't that big of a deal but we did tell the reservation agent we were here for our anniversary so I was expecting a better room. All in all I have no complaints it just was ok.

Front desk staff was very pleasant and greeted me with a smile. It was nice to see the staff in non typical uniforms during the show and getting into the spirit of Comic-Con. The Location is close to the Gas Lamp, on the water and near tons of shops and the Convention Center. The rooms are good and clean. And the staff is very helpful. I was here on business and held a few different events at this hotel and everyone was helpful and nice.

Stayed here for a conference and loved it. I am a Marriott Elite Member and I got access to conceive level which was delightful. Yummy appetizers, desserts and nice breakfast spread. The rooms are lovely and I had a PERFECT view of the bay. Staff is on top of things. Common spaces are well maintained and the pool bar was spot on affordable, yummy and SUCH a great place to chill out and enjoy a bite to eat. I am sure the balcony rooms are even better. Great place close to all that the downtown h... Read more

Convenient to the convention center and marina and the gas lamp district. My room was cozy with excellent views of the city & the marina. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The bar was a regular hangout for many of the guest and non guests. I enjoyed my stay, everyday.

I've been to many Marriotts across the years and across the globe, most of them are great in all aspects. What's wrong with this one? Location is good so that's a plus, the hotel feels and looks modern and new, so that's another plus. The fitness center is also good and clean and that's the final plus. I booked an executive suite (we are two friends staying in the hotel) the description said a king and a sofa bed, all good till now. The issue was ONE bathroom to share. The door separating the ... We stayed here for a few nights before a cruise and I was impressed. Although a convention hotel, the service was very personal and first class. Our room was great with a view of the harbor. Plus, we were able to walk to restaurants, shopping and activities.

We stayed at the Marriott for a few days and were located in the North Tower. Our room was normal sized and had a small balcony overlooking the marina. Great views! The rooms have safes, small refrigerator, desk, iron/ironing board and coffee service. It was clean and comfortable. The hotel is large and has a spa, nice fitness center, meeting rooms, restaurants, shops and a lobby bar in the south tower. You can't beat their waterfront location. Super close to the Midway Museum (don't miss seeing this amazing piece of American history) as well as great dining (Top of the Fish Market is a terrific spot with solid offerings and top-notch service). The hotel itself suffers from many issues from not enough help due to the fact that this hotel is highly booked with convention goers (it's right next door to the convention center) so things like valets, check in, food service etc. all lacks. I stayed here for 4 nights in November attending a conference. Whilst travelling from Europe my suitcase handle broke which meant I had to lift the suitcase. When leaving the hotel I asked for assistance in getting my suitcase to work again. Richard B was absolutely fantastic. He showed me how to fix it in case it broke again. His helpful and thoughtful assistance really helped me with my onward journey. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him and give him credit as he really saved my... Read more

The Marriot Marquis San Diego Marina is a business hotel, and it is connected to the San Diego Convention Center on Harbor Drive. The hotel contains a South Tower and North Tower. I stayed at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina on November 2 - 8, 2016 while vacationing in San Diego. I've been to San Diego countless times, but this is the first time I've stayed at this hotel. After my stay, I'm spoiled, and regret not staying here sooner. I am a Marriott Rewards Gold Elite member, so I did... Read more

The hotel is huge! Beautiful pool, lots of facilities (starbucks, ups store, gift shop...), great restaurants. I attended a conference there and it has good infra structure for events as well. My room was on the 21st floor, so I had GREAT views of the city.

Stayed here for our engagement and birthday as a hangout with friends before going out. Great location to see the sunset in the marina and downtown San Diego! Tend to be a lot of events and you have to pay for parking but check the Marriott website for "packages" with a room and parking. It is cheaper.

I spent three days last week with my wife in the Marriott Marquis room 1616 . beautiful hotel near the sea, But when we leaved the hotel on saturday , I forgot my Go Pro camera on my bed. When I realised, I called the "lost and found" service to tell them that the room maker should find them because it was on the sheet the first thing that you see when you enter to the room (and we closed when we leaved ).. so the person on the phone took my phone number and my email and said it will call me ba... Always stay here when attending conferences as the convention center is adjacent. It's a beautiful hotel. Rooms are always nice but not sound proof; can hear the late night trains passing by. Aside from that negative, the concierge lounge is quite poor. Specifics include putting all the breakfast foods away 15 minutes before closing time which is 10 AM. There's a soda fountain which serves watered-down drinks; it would be much better to just have canned sodas in the refrigerator. On a couple ... Read more

We went for a special occasion and the hotel was beautiful. Parking was slightly more money than neighboring hotels but I didn't feel that it was as bad as most people have made it out to be. The pool can be like a wind tunnel and in some areas the sun is short lived. But the pool was beautiful and Roy's (a restaurant attached to the hotel) was really sensational. The hotel has balconies in certain rooms and, if you have the extra money, it it definitely worth it. The nearby Seaport Village is m... Read more

Marriott's really upped the game in this property. Stunning harbor views both day and night, sunsets, sunrises, night lights, you name it. Also the rooms are spacious, comfortable, well-equipped and nicely appointed, elevators are fast and common areas attractive. Lots of in-hotel diversions, with an excellent wine scene and several high quality food options, The outdoor patio by a Roy's of Hawaii was really attractive and well-serviced, and the pool areas were super-inviting. I spent a week here in September 2016, while attending a conference. Overall the property is very comfortable, excellent location to the boardwalk and marina. Its walking distance to everything, the convention center is next door, and the trolley stops out front of the hotel. Plus, there are plenty of food options in the surrounding areas. Should you eat in the hotel, the offerings are somewhat limited, a little bit pricey, but still excellent. Buffet breakfast was excellent with tons of v... Read more

We were undecided on this hotel or the Gaslamp Marriott. This hotel has amazing views and the North Tower has patios with each room. The South Tower has no patios. Renae was so helpful to us on our first night checking in making sure we were taken care of. The hotel pool is not warm enough in November to actually swim or enjoy it. The grounds and area are so pretty. Rooms are small but very nice. Concierge level was very nice as well. The drive to Gaslamp, Old Town are all so easy. We would abs... Read more

we wanted a convenient place to do some touristy stuff like a harbor tour and a trip over to Coronado. The hotel is also very convenient to the Gaslight District and Little Italy. The Marriott checked all the boxes. Our room was awesome with a harbor view and small balcony. The room was clean and very functional. The complimentary breakfast was much better than we anticipated. We would definitely return.

Huge hotel in downtown San Diego that has all the services you could need. Expensive wifi the reason for not 5 stars. Great access to the Lamplight district and all the restaurants in the sea port village and reasonably located to get to Little Italy. The best place we found for breakfast was The Mission and dinner had to be Eddie V's in seaport village.

Located in the heart of the marina area, this hotel is a convenient walk to many shops, restaurants and, of course, the harbor. We stayed for one night after a cruise and it is very close to the cruise port. The large hotel is very sleek, with great eating options onsite and an excellent meandering pool with plenty of chairs. Rooms are of average size, in great shape and offer nice bedding. We are Marriott rewards elite members and would highly recommend this hotel.

I was there for the weekend. The rooms are very clean, had partial view of the bay which was really pretty, especially at night with all the city lights. Had a balcony, small bar fridge. No microwave. The shower was great. For the expense, I thought it was nuts that they wanted an extra fee for wifi. Plus parking was $45/day, even if you stayed. I lucked out in that the lot was full, so I got to park for free at the convention center lot, but I am not sure whether that was because of the weekend... Read more
