We just stayed couple of weeks ago. This hotel is a total waste to stay. what a horrible maintenance. Horrible rooms with bad smell. Staff is worst and I would never recommend this hotel at all. Thumbs down.

The reviews I read on this hotel said it was comfortable and staff was friendly so I decided to stay there. Bad idea. First the guy at the desk was very unfriendly and when he asked me if I had dogs he tacked on $20 a night. I told him he should have that on the website but I would pay for it anyway. The room was so bright all night that it was like sleeping in the daytime. I eventually tried to put the small stiff towels on the blinds to block out some of the light, but it didn't work. The bed... Read more

So this place was not the greatest. Yes, we got a great deal on the rate using an employee discounted rate, but I would probably not recommend this place to any friends or family. The staff was not very inviting, or very welcoming. The room smelled musty, almost like the smell of mold. The carpets were filthy, and the shower had mold in the crevices were the wall met the tub. They do not have black out drapes, so even at the darkest time of the night it seemed like dawn or dusk in the room, but... Read more

Checked in early - went to beach (never been to CA before) and came back and daughter found roach crawling on the bed! My best friend went to talk to guy at front desk and he offered us another room. We attempted to tell him that when you find one roach.... After MANY requests, he got on the phone with the owner. We were offered another room or money off. We pushed until we got a refund and we left at 6:00 p.m. Luckily, the Best Western gave us a lower rate because of what we went throug... Read more

My fiance and I recently stayed at the Rodeway Inn Pacific Beach on our honeymoon. We chose to stay here for it's closeness to the beach and relatively inexpensive cost compared to the rather pricey hotels and resorts. We were both very disappointed with our stay for numerous reasons. While check in was painless the rest of our stay sucked. The TV remote in our room didn't work so we had to fight in order to get a new one. The rooms are very old and shabby as well as the bedding. The absolute wo... Read more

This hotel has VERY tired and scruffy rooms. The checkin was poor, we had a standoff about scanning my ID (not showing - but actually scanning) and then to room was a huge disappointment. The carpet was stained and the sheets were grey. The whole room was shabby in the extreme and at an average price of $150 per night was daylight robbery.

We stayed here as a cheaper option than staying in La Jolla. Sadly, it was disgustingly cheaper. The hotel room appeared old, run down, and who knows if it was clean. The carpet had the stains, there was a cricket in our shower, and a very loud whistling toilet. I truly hope our sheets were clean, but when I stay in a place like that, who knows. After arriving we considered asking for a refund and going elsewhere, but the surrounding places were sold out. The location was about 15 minutes to La... Read more

We enjoyed our two nights at the Rodeway Inn in San Diego, California. We used the Inn as a place to sleep and eat a breakfast. We only cared about the location and the price. For us this is the perfect place. We didn't have to fight a lot of traffic to go to Sea World. Unlike the other members of our group who were scattered up the coast. We also spent a fraction of what they did. We would like to thank all the people who made negative comments about the Inn. Thanks to them we were able to get ... Read more

Poor communication between front desk help. We called and asked if we could bring our dog because the website said "pet friendly". When we arrived they told us only service animals we allowed with no exceptions. Cross this dump off our list!
