I booked my room online and I paid for a suite. When I got there, I was told the suite didn't have a couch like it said online and I needed somewhere for my brother to sleep. I asked if we could just switch to a room with a couch in it. However, they didn't reimburse me for the difference of the rooms. That wasn't a huge deal but what leads me to write this review was the customer service. When I checked in, there were 2 guys at the counter. The one who helped me was decent. The other guy was ve... Basic rooms that were clean and quiet. The pool was nice. The staff was friendly. No breakfast offered. Possibly why they can keep their price down. We were fine with that. There were plenty of eating places around.

I was so worried about this hotel because there are a lot of bad reviews. Well, I got there and yes, the exterior is pretty outdated but was still kept clean and presentable. The rooms are updated standard rooms with microwaves and a fridge. The sheets were clean and housekeeping were also great and thorough. My 4 year old son was not feeling great one of the day we were there and threw up all over the sheets and floor. This was about 8:30-9pm. I called front desk and he had someone come help ... My primary reasoning for choosing this hotel was the price compared to similar hotels in the San Diego area. It's a little but further from most of the city attractions than others, but not too far that it was a pain to travel. Cleanliness and amenities were up to par and about what you would expect from any hotel. Bathroom a bit drab and simple (no windows, solid white tile all around, basic shower) but gets the job done if you're not spending much time in the room. Service at the front desk an... Read more

No complaints. They kept the ground clean and nice. Rooms were as expected for a minimum of 3 star rating. We were here for 2nights and everything was fine. Bedding was clean, bathroom was ok..although they should replace the tiles because the grout is a little dirty. There's a restaurant in the same grounds which was very convenient for us to just walk over there.

This was an easy to find hotel and was great for the price. The only problem with our room was low water pressure in the shower.

This hotel is ok... The bathroom needs a major update and the beds were uncomfortable. The shower is little, no tub, and the bathroom needs more shelves or counter space. Upsides: There is a fridge and microwave in the room, and the pool is very nice. I won't stay here again.

It is in a very convenient location . Great service especially Jeremy and girls in the Bar/ Restaurant ! Rooms were ok though nowhere to put shampoos etc except on floor of shower. Also ground floor windows didn't feel very secure. Overall a pleasant stay.

We have been staying here at the Ramada for years. I grew up in San Diego and love that this location is close to all the things we love. We have watched this location change and upgrade over the years. The staff is always friendly. The rooms are always clean. The pool is sparkling. We will be happy to recommend the Ramada to everyone!

All was good with my stay. The only challenge I had was the restaurant (Proud Mays) chef left at least 20 minutes early and several customers were not allowed to eat when and where they wanted. They establishment lost money as well as the staff who would have received tips from the several customers who did not eat there.

There is nothing special about this hotel. The room was ok-clean, but a funky odor came from the fridge each time it was opened and musty smell in room bc of AC unit. The couch cushions were pretty shot, but it was just where my toddler hung out while we were there. It was clean, staff was pleasant and helpful with bringing fresh sheets for pullout and towels. Pool looked very nice, but it was still too cool in June to use. I didn't like that there were a ton of trucks parked along road in front... Read more

This is a very clean, comfortable and quiet hotel. It's located close to freeways which was very handy for us. Also, the personnel were pleasant, helpful, and very accommodating. We will stay at this property on our next trip to San Diego.

This hotel which is really a motel is very well kept, clean and has a very friendly staff. It is only two stories and does not have an elevator. The rooms are clean and large with lots of space to move around in. The bathroom was large but had only a shower. Lighting is a bit weak but if all you are doing is sleeping then it is a perfect hotel. The pool was large and very nice. It is a quiet hotel with comfortable beds, a refrigerator and microwave. There is no parking fee. Good value.

We had an Expedia non-refundable reservation for 3 nights. We HAD to leave after the first night. I wouldn't have said my safety was an issue but now I do as my concern is retaliation. After a 10 hour drive all my son and I wanted to do was get dinner and chill. We drove up to our room and saw a bottom floor room with a portable tent out their room with a bbq set-up, chairs and table. We parked in a space in front of our 2nd floor room. When we were leaving for dinner another bbq set-up w... Read more

The hotel is old, but they keep it clean. The staff was very nice and always seemed to have a smile. My room was large, spacious and had kitchenette. However, the kitchen sink leaked. The shower head in the bathroom was damage only allowing the setting to be on a narrow/hard spray. Other benefits included the fact that vouchers were provided for the restaurant which provided really good food.

This is just a basic Ramada Hotel. If you're not going to spend too much time in the room, then the location is convenient for most San Diego attractions and the price is decent. If you will be spending some extra time in your room, then this may not be the place for you.

I stayed at this hotel after naming my price on a 3-star hotel at a popular hotel search site. This development is definitely older and feels much more like a motel. I drove entirely around the site before I realized that the little detached building in front is the office (it was night time). The room itself wasn't bad (not remarkable, but reasonably clean and together), but I carried my luggage up an exterior stairway (no elevators - at least that I found) and rolled down exterior corridor t... The San Diego North Ramada Inn is really more of a motel than a hotel. My definition of a motel is a facility where the doors open to the outside. However, there are plenty of motels that are very nice. This Ramada Inn is an older property that is very well maintained and is an excellent value in the expensive San Diego summer months. You will discover that the motel is easy to find. It is right off of Highway 163. Kearney Mesa Road is a designated exit road that connects to Clairemont Mes... Read more

Not fancy on the outside, but my room was spotless, bed linens and towels snowy, bathroom clean, bed and pillows comfy. Convenient location, close to highways and SoCal attractions. As an older woman travelling alone, I felt comfortable in the Hotel, although it does feel more like a motel. If you are looking for a nice place to stay on a budget, this works just fine.

Right out of the 60s. However room was generally clean but smelled musty. Like carpetswere recently shampooed and not dried well.the air/heat unit fan always runs regardless of heat or cool and it is very loud, don't even try to watch tv with it running. Burn marks on bathroom counter curling iron maybe. Shower head comes out of wall at about 5 foot mark. Made it an experience to say the least. A quiet hotel that is older but updated nicely. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool was clean and clear. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a bit frustrating to have a chain smoker up above us. The staff attempted to remedy the problem but they continued smoking even after being told it wasn't allowed. The location is close to the freeway but far enough that you don't get the noise. I would recommend this hotel to others.

I only had a single issue for the entire week that I was lodged there. The MLB All-Star Game was in town the second night of my stay. My husband and I stayed here because we were booked here after winning a trip to San Diego. The hotel was old. For the most part it was clean. The carpet was dirty. I took a shower and walked barefoot to the bed and my feet were black. The shower head was horrible. These was a fight at the pool in front of the 30 kids that never left the pool area. On Saturday night, the club in the hotel was so loud we were unable to sleep. The location was this hotels only benefit.

When I pulled up to what I thought was a hotel, I started crying. This is a cheap Motel, and shouldn't be advertised as anything but that. The pictures on the website are manufactured to show you a skewed version of the truth. You drive up to your room and park 3 feet from it. For $149 per night, I was expecting a nice hotel with a lobby and elevator and amenities. This has NONE OF THAT! All of the ice makers on the property were broken. The free wifi never worked. We slept the first night very cozy!!! and were changed to 2 queen rooms the next day... I asked and got breakfast free...

Cleaning ladies were excellent and prompt. They actually cleaned the room from top to bottom. The only issue is that when I booked the room they said there was kitchen suite. When we checked in there was a space for a kitchen but nothing was in that space. Space was worthless. I was there 11 nights and besides the missing kitchen it was a good stay.
