We stayed there for a Billy Joel concert at Petco Park. Easy valet car service. Convenient check in. Close to Petco. Fun roof to hang out.

I have stayed in a lot of older hotels, some with great character (Renaissance Cleveland) , some not so good. This hotel having a long history and older rooms, still has a classy feel, and some unique features. The location is perfect for walking around the entire Gas Lamp district, 10 minute walk to the convention center, and clean rooms. The very top of the hotel is open to everyone to bring your own refreshments and enjoy a fantastic view of San Diego. The walls are thin but ... Read more

The personnel at this hotel are outstanding! You couldn't ask for nicer, more helpful and cheerful group. The bed was very comfortable, but oh those darn pillows. This was my only complaint, along with the vintage elevator.

We loved staying here. It was in a perfect location and very historic. We took the train from Oceanside and walked everywhere once we arrived. It saved on the parking fees and everything we wanted to do was in walking distance. There is a shuttle from the hotel if you call ahead of time and they will also take you back to the Santa Fe Depot. Ian and Cydney were wonderful front desk personnel. They were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed talking with them. Great customer service! We can'... Read more
