Beautiful bungalows, great surroundings, peaceful, family oriented and the staff was amazing! We would definitely recommend this as a destination. The view from our room overlooked a lovely lagoon where cranes & turtles sunned themselves. Quite entertaining.

Traveled to San Diego to get away and also meet with family and relax. Our room was awesome, but wished that we had a cooktop for the days when the little ones didn't allow us to eat out for dinner. Loved that the resort was located 15-20 from everything (SD zoo, downtown/farmer's market, the USS Midway, Balboa Park, etc.) The children loved seeing the turtles, fishes, and the variety of birds around the resort. Their favorite were the ducks. The adults loved seeing the local row teams and ... Read more

Been at Paradise Point twice now, first time was two years ago. It is in a lovely spot in San Diego. Room - Space and room felt fine for me. Nice view, plenty of space. My brother, however, could not sleep on the sofa-bed - the springs were too much for him. We had to ask for a rollover bed, and staff were quick to bring it over that night. So fyi if you have light sleepers (or sensitive backs) in your company, a rollover bed is a good option. Also to mention, the walls are very thin. We could... Read more

This was our 3rd time being at the resort. It is well worth it to get the bay bungalow. You do feel like you get a private beach experience. I would not recommend anyone sleeping on the pull out couch. The mattress was horrible (thin) and uncomfortable. The next night we got a cot for our 14 year old son so he did not have to sleep on the pull out sofa. The only issue we had this trip was noisy neighbors. I dont know why people try and ruin the experience for everyone else by having loud ... Read more

Nice hotel, but dated. Good for families on vacation. Not too good for business. High fees for parking--close to $40.00. Landscaping is dated! Probably was very nice years ago. Pool was nice. Not sure I would book again

The coffee booth needs to be open longer and should have been better stocked with pastries. There should be an ample choice of pastries until closer to closing time each day. Closing so early requires guests to walk to Barefoot Bar for coffee and often times, more breakfast than wanted. Also, the pool Cantina needs to be open everyday so that you have another lunch option and can get a drink without leaving the pool and walking all the way to Barefoot Bar. The food at the Cantina was great!! Las... Read more

I enjoyed my stay, however like all Mission Bay properties you hear every jet plane crossing the Bay from the airport. The room is a bit dated in it's appearance though nice and it was clean and tidy albeit OLD. I think it's time for the owners to put some $$$ into the resort for updates and a make over. What makes this 4 STAR is the location, and the GARDENS, the accommodations are so-so. Restaurant while good is OVERPRICED.

Grounds at this hotel are beautiful. it sit in a lagoon with a great beach. The hotel is very friendly towards pets so this is a plus. The beach has plenty of sand for the kids to run and play. There are kitchenettes in all the rooms, you could stay for a long time with your own supplies. The grounds have its own restaurants very nice and friendly. Rude self centered hostess took us to a table covered in sand, were we waited for service for 15 minutes. Menu was limited, food took forever, and seeing your server during your meal was apparently against the rules. We waited for drinks 30 minutes, and only got them after going directly to the bar. Save your money, go to the Barefoot, hands down the best on site.

Beautiful grounds! Beautiful pools! House keeping was very poor! Our room was never cleaned! We left every morning before 8:30 and arrived around 4:00. We had to call for towels and toilet paper , and have our trash thrown. I've never stayed at a hotel and came back to an un serviced room. Parking is expensive, and our parking space was taken ever time we arrived. However Dave the manager did comp our parking. I would stay again just because the grounds are breath taking.

We have been to this resort about five times for an annual family reunion. The best part is the location on mission bay beach. The rooms are tired looking and housekeeping took 3 phone calls each day and cleaned at 5 pm. Towels never dried out as rooms were damp. Breakfasts were good but service slow at Barefoot grill. One of the chefs used the restroom and didn't wash hands.

This is a 44 acres property of separate bungalows in a tropical environment. I loved my patio which overlooked a pond and river and had ducks and a gorgeous tropical bird outside. The bird was so large I first thought it was a statue until it moved. I sort of felt like I was at camp with the bungalows and expansive grounds. It's a great environment for families but for a single person, it felt a bit like being at Disneyland and the pool had way too many noisy kids. The room itself was fine,... Read more

This property offered the youngest as well as the adult members of the families many activities to enjoy, from jet skis, to gentle waves on the sand. Our family stays here at least once a year. Always subscribe to the web specials, which offer affordable beach front rooms. Knowing this is the peak season, we expected a crowded resort but it was not so bad, actually. What bothered us was the messy main pool (we kept stepping on plastic cups in the pool & we noticed the guests were especially messy with their food trays, drinks and towels.. splayed everywhere). Our family loved this place. Great main pool with hot tub, beautiful grounds. We even got a great sitter for a few hours so my hubby and I could rest and relax. Only problem, not enough drawers in our double queen room. Our stuff had to stay out on counters and desk, which messed up room ambiance. Please add a chest of drawers.. or under sink storage. Problems checking in and unruly neighbors one night dampened our experience at this older resort. Management handled check in issues superbly but front desk/security was ineffective handling a very loud party in the next (adjoining) suite that continued until 4:00 am. Great time at the waterfront where the staff was very helpful setting us up to paddle board for an hour. Enjoyed walking the property and surrounding areas for exercise.

Nothing beats the location of San Diego! However, there are better resorts for the price. Average resort that needs lots of upgrades. Main pool area gets dirty with used food dishes from the evening before and still there is the next morning.

To fully enjoy the resort, you need at least 2 nights! We did putting golf, paddle boat, bon fire and dinner at Barefoot Bar and Grill. Water and sky were blue and calm. Beatiful weather.... we are from San Jose... Old town (Rockin Baja is yummy!), Seaport Village and La Jolla Cive were so fun! My 7 year old twins love this trip. To enjoy all you need a week! I just stayed here for 3 nights as a international conference delegate all by myself. When checking in, a staff kindly located my room near by conference place. Room was quite oldish in everything. You can hear some sounds from other rooms but other than that... just a three or four star hotel room. Room was cleaned everyday though. $4 charge for a water bottle seemed weird for me thus I bought a bigger water bottle from the resort market, which was small and not cheap. Mandatory resort fe... We pay top dollar to stay at this resort every year, but the rooms are substandard. The bathrooms never look or feel clean, the towels look dirty, the beds and linens are uncomfortable and they don't have pay per view movies. Unless they renovate, we won't be back.

We are locals and brought our Paddle boards and booked a bayside room for an overnight Staycation. We had a good time. Try not to get room 208 as there is no private lawn in front of that room. The beach in front of the bayside rooms is public and sometimes you get rowdy, inconsiderate people. Most of the other bayside rooms have a lawn that separates you and your room a bit from the locals on the beach. We enjoyed the Barefoot bar.

There is a total disconnection with food quality and the prices. The food was a awful. Fruit was old, meat was rubbery, mashed potatoes were old or possibly from a can. The hotel staff never recognized my change of the names of persons who would travel for our company. They made them wait until I arrived to check in. I had originally put all the rooms in my name because we were not sure who would travel. Even when I called 4 times ahead of the schedule, they never made the changes. Totally unres... Read more

The Paradise Point Resort did a satisfactory job of dealing with our conference. Not so great for my wife who expected to enjoy San Diego. Besides shopping places, the resort staff had no ideas for her to spend her days. Maybe it is their location way from good stuff to do, or they just wanted us to spend our money at the resort. Housekeeping did an awful job of supplying basics like tea bags, cups, glasses, toilet paper, towels, etc. Had real trouble communicating with housekeeping because we a... Read more

We were able to walk back to our hotel if we forgot something, wanted to shower, or use the restroom. Parking is crazy expensive, but it's a must if you don't want to deal with the wait, crowds, or shuttle. Our second time staying here in the past 3 years. Love the location and having the beach right outside our room was hard to beat. Definitely seems more run down though than 3 years ago. Rooms really need a remodel. For the money factoring in the cost of parking, resort and other fees it was very expensive for the quality of accommodations and overall experience.

I liked the place very much but was disappointed in the lack of upgrades in our bathroom area. It was very dated and not in great shape. The grounds could use more help as well . The sandy areas need beach chairs so they can be enjoyed by more guests than just those that pay premium price on the water side of the property. The pool areas are lovely, the fitness center has many options to get a good workout and the restaurants and bars are very nice.
