"Celebrated our 23rd Wedding Anniversary, The Resort helped make it a blast. I had requested a water front room but unfortunately they said due to the 3rd party reservation it was not granted. But I was still satisfied with my room, the staff and facility. One thing I did'nt like is that they charge you per peron for the use of all facility activities like miniture golf, pools, basketball court, horse shoes. without informing you, you have access to them. Overall everything was outstanding 1-10, 10 highest 81/2"

"After dealing with elder issues all day, an afternoon here was like heaven. Breezes blowing through the palms, wildlife everywhere, nice place for a
well deserved drink and a good nights rest. Our unit was clean and nicely updated and an easy stroll to all the restaurants and pools. Mission Bay surrounds the 'island' and is a wonderful walk with sights of sailboats and kayakers. I find most of the people who post are complainers so I decided to let others know it is very nice here if you are not the demanding sort. Yes, there are hidden fees which we were not happy about but it was worth it."

"Not the 'good deal' we thought we were getting. Please read the fine print, there are fees for EVERYTHING. Parking fees, Resort fees, microwave fees.... The hotel itself wasn't bad, just older and worn. The bed was good and the towels were new. Our feet were black from walking on the floors barefoot. The grounds are beautiful, and the pool was heated. The jucuzzi spa was 104, to hot for us. There was a beach at the other end of the resort along with basketball and ping pong (these were part of the $17.00 per day resort fee) but we did not use them.
If you have a young family this might be a good place to stay. Just read the fine print before you book."

"We checked in late in the evening on Friday and no one was available to assist us to find our room through the dark paths. Beds are worn out and noisy. You can hear other guests easily right through the walls even at normal speaking volumes. The floors were dusty so it was necessary to clean our feet prior to getting into the bed so wore our shoes when in the room. Clearly no one checked the room as it smelled horribly of cigarette smoke that lingered even when we checked out on Sunday. We will not be staying here again."

"Oh man, what can I say. First, I wish that I knew how Paradise Point was going to be before buying tix to Sea World and Safari Land. When we got there, we could immediately tell this was no ordinary hotel. We saw that it was very family friendly. We stayed in one of the executive suites and it was just awesome. (No fighting over what to watch on tv)! We didn't get to spend much time on the grounds because of the other activities that we had planned but we certainly do wish that we had another day or so down there, just to enjoy what Paradise Point was offering. We are definitely going back, just to stay at the resort!!!!"

"Dated bungalows built in the 80s, renovated in the late 90s, in need of another facelift. Mold on our bathroom ceiling and rotten base boards from water damage. Beds are worn out and noisy (squeak with every move). Sofa beds are horrible (I wouldn't even put my kids on them). If you need to sleep more than 2 people you really need to opt for a second room. Yes, really.
You can hear other guests easily right through the walls... even at normal speaking volumes. Way too much light coming in the bedroom at night from other bungalow's porch lights and inadequate shades in bedrooms.
EXPENSIVE food at onsite restaurants (about triple the cost of comparable local restaurants). $80 breakfasts for a family of 4. $400 dinners for 4 adults (2 drinks each) and 2 kids. Food is decent though. Not great, but good.
Grounds are nice and employees are friendly and accommodating but not entirely efficient.
Overall the place is 'ok' but I'm not sure I'd go back or recommend to friends."

"This resort is very beautiful and we enjoyed our room, but I have to say what we thought was a great deal, was not. Remember to read the fine print. I did not and was shocked to be told that I had to pay $32.00 a night just to park my car, as well as an extra $17. facilities fee! We were only there one night so other than the use of the pool, I don't know why we had to pay the $17.00, but there was no getting around it. Everything seemed overpriced, from the coffee to the meals. You would think the added fees would include a bike rental, but no that was extra! if you go without a car and have time to use the gym, maybe this will work out better for you."

"This hotel exceeded my expectations. Enchanting Palm Trees covered in lights up the drive, quiet, lush, felt very 'Tropical'. Check-in was quick and easy thanks to Summer. She was absolutely wonderful, professional, answered all my questions and gave me an upgraded room! Finding the room was a bit of a challenge however once inside I was no longer bothered due to the plush bedding, flat screen, fluffy towels and toiletries. I made a trip to the Barefoot Bar and Grille for a drink, my sever Garrett was equally wonderful and professional. Though I did not stay long, I managed to walk the property the next morning and was impressed with how expansive and inclusive the resort is. Each staff member I encountered was very friendly, happy, and professional. I felt very welcome. This is definitely a place you will want to spend a few days enjoying. There is so much on offer to do, plenty of places to dine, drink, you really don't need to go into the city unless absolutely necessary. I will be adding this to my list of favorite getaways, I plan on returning very soon! P.S. lady at front was delightful and provided me with late check-out upon my request. : )"

"This is a beautiful resort and we had a wonderful time. We really appreciate the friendly employees. We were greeted warmly at check in, had a beautiful room, and always felt the staff was there to be sure guests were completely happy. We highly recommend Paradise Point for couples and families of all ages. It is great to get up and walk along the beach, have a campfire on the beach at night, rent boats and bikes, and lounge around the pool. We have already booked a return trip! It was very hard to leave, and we recommend booking for a minimum of two nights in order to fully enjoy all there is to do in San Diego and allow for time to simply relax at the resort."

"My wife and I will be celebrating our 50th anniversary next year and wanted to entertain our children and their families at a resort for a number of days in June of 2013, so we made a reconnaissance over night stay to Paradise Point. We had read both some positive and negative reviews and wanted to see for ourselves. The exteriors of the bungalows leave something to be desired but the interiors are up to date and are pleasantly decorated with amenities such as hairdryers, irons, small refrigerators etc.The $31 fee for parking can add up but is reduced if your request is reasonable. Our stay in June is prime time so room rates are higher in this season. The place is very family orientated so with 5 young children we expect them to be entertained the whole time with Sea World and other parks virtually right next door. You are paying for location, location, location.....and you are RIGHT on the beach if you book the Bayside rooms.
Looking forward to all of us having a good time come June.

"Ok....I will start by saying there were so many negative comments about Paradise Point I was almost scared in to changing my reservation and eating the 1 night fee. I am glad I didn't When I arrived at the hotel the staff knew it was my wedding anniversary based on email correspondence. I had asked for a water facing room if available and they did not have one but upgraded the room location close to the main swimming pool which was perfect for a family with 2 kids (9 and 11) The room was decent. nothing exceptional but not the way some have expressed. No ants, no mold or musty smell as some suggested. The A/c unit was fine. Not loud and kept the room nice and cool. The pain on the walls was fresh but in some areas where it had flaked off in the bathroom they painted over the flaked area (blending in the paint) but you could see there were multiple layers. (Not a huge issue in my mind) The shower faucet could use some updating as it took a bet to adjust the temperature.
For me I tend to be more picky about linens in hotels. I hate course bath towels and starchy feeling sheets. This resort had both. We grabbed some of the pool towels for our showers and they were far more comfortable. The pillows were feather which I personally do not care for but my wife said they were comfy.
The room was spacious enough (2 queen beds) but there was little dresser drawer space. Only 2 drawers for 4 occupants. We had to live out of one suitcase while there.
I saw a few people talking about the floors being dirty. Here's the issue.. the floors are tile that resemble wide planks of wood. (It looks a lot better than I can describe it) but the tile collects a lot of loose sand and dirt from being so close to the beach. As a result, take your shoes off right when you come in or they will get dirty quick. If you walk barefoot in the room, plan for them to get dirty. Not for lack of the staff washing them as i saw them doing it.
The main pool was the only one we used and it was fine. Plenty of seating, nice temperature and a decent hot tub. (Hot tub could have been a little cooler tho but still nice to soak your feet after a long day of walking at many of the nearby attractions)
The tv had been upgraded to hd and the internet was fine while there. No issues to report.
My biggest issue with the hotel is the cost for things such as drinks by the pool. 12 bucks for a mai tai and 21 bucks for a s'mores pack (4 sticks, marshmallows, and pre-cut chocolate) is pretty extreme! We all know about the price to park your car and the service fees..(32 and 17 respectively) So they shouldn't come as a surprise. When I checked in they actually cut the parking fee in half to 16 with out me saying a word.... just a courtesy. I will say we got a really good deal on the price per night for this hotel. Not the 300-400 per night some paid. We grabbed a great fare sale that bookit was offering (I think it was 115.00/night). I would not have picked this hotel for 300-400 per night. I chose it for its close proximity to sea world, the zoo and legoland. It served its purpose. I would not say it's a 5 star resort, more like a 3.5-4 but we did not have any serious issues. I would suggest it to others looking for a decent place to stay, nice pool(s) and closeness to the airport and surrounding areas. If you are looking for luxury, this is not the hotel for you. It's good but did not WOW me the way The yacht club at Disney World did for instance.
Lastly I will also mention that shortly after we checked in the delivered a free bottle of champagne and cookies to help us celebrate our anniversary. They didn't have to do that, but it was a nice gesture. All in all, I would likely look for a new option the next time I visit just to change things up a bit, but I have no regrets with staying at Paradise Point. It was a great trip..

JAC from West Orange, New Jersey
"The grounds are lush, tropical and beautiful, but it seems like the foliage is the only thing that receives constant attention and care. The layout is interesting, with bungalows woven around the bay and along paths throughout the island, but the rooms-all the facilities, actually- are in need of a complete over hall. The lobby and the rooms are old and damp and smell musty and moldy. Here's a tip: THE BATHROOMS NEED WINDOWS! The air conditioning system is old and does not do the work of drying out the rooms like it should!
Housekeeping was sub-par. The housekeepers never actually cleaned the room, just made the beds and replaced towels. I had to leave a note for them to actually clean the bathroom, i.e., clean the toilet, sink, tub and floor. The room was never mopped. We are a family of 4 with 2 young children so there were lots of items left about in the room on the desk, floor etc. Those items were never moved for cleaning. I also had to call for toilet paper because housekeeping staff didn't have the common sense to leave an extra roll or two in the bathroom. After about 10 minutes someone showed up with 1 roll??? We sent them back for another.
There are sliding glass doors that open to a patio which is nice, but there is no screen door which was a little annoying. There was no way to enjoy the much needed airflow through the room without keeping out the bugs. There were no hooks to hang things to dry, including bath towels, so everything was constantly damp. We would use the patio chairs to dry our bathing suits and towels, but unless it is a very hot day, they remain damp for a long time.
TIP: the food is better and cheaper in town and so are the services, like bike rentals. At the resort, bike rentals were $12 an hour. In town, $15 for 24 hours! At the resort, the food is mediocre at best and expensive for what it is. You'll do better finding a local eatery in town. Just ask the bellman. They were all very nice and forthcoming with information about the area, which is more than I can say for the front desk staff. It would appear that they don't want you to leave the island so you can spend all your money there. That would not have been a problem for us if the services were better.
We didn't rent a car so we relied on taxis to take us everywhere. There seem to be only 4 cabs in the area and I think they have some kind of arrangement with the hotel, so if you're traveling with a large party, get the number of a van or shuttle service in the area and call them. Look in the local paper or ask at the airport. It will be cheaper and more efficient. Ideally you'd want to have a car, but parking is $32 a day, which is OUTRAGEOUS considering there's no valet service.
Best thing about the resort? There are several pools to choose from and other activities for the kids so when you didn't feel like leaving the resort, it was just fine. We swam, chartered a boat, played mini golf and had a bonfire on the beach, which was fun. TIP FOR PARENTS: buy a cooler, go to the store and load up on drinks and snacks so you can go to the beach or pool without feeling pressure to order room service or go to the restaurant when the kids get hungry and you're in a chill mood.
Overall, the grounds are peaceful and beautiful, and we enjoyed our vacation because we weren't going to let anything spoil it, but I would not consider staying here again.
I hope the owners, managers and staff of Paradise Point are reading and taking in posted comments. This is not the first poor review, so I hope that this and others will spawn some interest in making much needed changes.

"i have been lookiing forward to my first trip to San Diego and went with paradise point because of all the nice things people had to say. The only good thing about this place was the friendly bell men at the front of the hotel. Other then that it took 2 hrs to get a menu to our room for room service until Lori a lady at the front had to read me word for word what was offered on the menu. My 7 year old was not happy. The next day i called for our plates to be picked up it took 9 hrs 5 phone calls later and once the plates were all trashed b/c of the birds someone finally came and cleaned it up. The cherry to our trip was the drunk hostess that helped us. At one point during lunch she was throwing up while i was going to the bathroom.... DISGUSTING. they gave us a $60 credit but again that was not the point. The only good thing about this place was the bell men, the manager who i spoke with and the nice guys who do the jet ski rentals. To top it off we left on friday and apparently a homicide had occurred late thursday. Im sorry but i will never EVER go back to paradise point and definitely do not recommend it to ANYONE.

"The resort has a great location in Mission Bay with easy access to lots of bike paths along the bay. The property itself is very serene and relaxing. The food, which had your typical hotel pricing, was quite good and enjoyable. The pool was also beautiful, and the fitness center was well equipped. My older teenage son, who does a lot of lifting, was satisfied with what it had to offer. The downside to staying here was the room, which was a bit disappointing for an expensive resort. We were four people in a standard room with 2 queen beds. The room itself was very spacious; we could easily put a rollaway bed in there without it being in the way. However for a room designed for 4 people, there was only one dresser with 2 deep drawers! I can understand the desire to maintain a clean, Polynesian look, but I think it could be done with some furniture which also has some practical merit so that you don't have to live out of a suitcase for 5 days. Likewise with the bathroom, which only had one towel bar for holding 2 towels. Kind of hard to reuse your towel without anywhere to hang it. The room finally got HD television service during our stay. The first 2 nights the TV reception was like a throwback to the 1970's. I agree with the other comments that the resort fee should be part of the price, which should also include free use of their bikes. While the resort is somewhat isolated, there is plenty around if you bike a mile or two. $32 for parking is also high, given it is not in a downtown area and you park yourself. In short, its a nice place if you want some real peace and quiet and a relaxing environment and are just a couple. I would probably stay somewhere else next time until I hear of some serious investment in room upgrades."

"DIRTY!! OUT DATED!!! AND OVER PRICED!!!
We paid $427.00 per night for two nights, and was very disappointed with the stay at Paradise Point Resort and Spa. For $427.00 per night, We got a room that had a view of the parking stalls in front of our room. The building or what they called a 'Bungalow' was old and dirty!! There were bird drops all over the entrance of our room. The room size was decent, but the paint was peeling, and the room had a musty smell. The air conditioning was old, loud and it rattled through out the night. I would have been happier, had I paid a more reasonable price for the stay. Oh, I forgot to mention that there was a $32.00 per night for the parking and $17.00 for their resort's fees. So adding it all up, I paid a whopping $476.00 per night for (Paradise Point Resort and Spa) a low quality hotel which I could have paid $150.00 per night at the Holiday Inn and would have been happier.

"Resort looks really nice, especially online, but stay elsewhere. This place is way over priced, with the $32 a night parking fee and the $17 a night fee for wireless internet and access to their 'extras.' The housekeeping was ok, all they did was change the towels, and never replaced things like soap or give us more coffee cups for the coffee maker. The internet really didn't work, and you have a far walk to the beach if you have a garden room. Stay elsewhere. "

"Great place, very friendly and would stay again but had two issues. one - shower facet broken for the entire trip. had to turn on with a hand towel against base of wall. somewhat of a pain. had to call several times as they kept saying it was fixed and we couldnt turn water on. finally gave us a $50 credit but that wasnt really the point. stuff happens so it was probably an anomaly. two - room service doesnt come in until the afternoon to clean room. was at a conference that got out after 2pm every day so i would come relax in the room for a couple of hours so it wasnt the best. just alot nicer when things are clean and not have to leave for room service. overall, great location and im sure a good hotel. very friendly, etc. so will stay there again."

"We were very pleased with our 6 day stay at Paradise Island Resort. Our casita's patio was two feet from a lagoon covered with water lillies. Various egrets, ducks, terns, etc. walked around the lagoon as we watched them from our patio. The ducks would come up to be feed but were no bother otherwise. The room cleaning policy of PIR is every three days unless asked to be more frequent. We had them clean twice and that was easily sufficient.
The restaurant, Baleen, was too expensive to take children for dinner.
It was a kick hearing kids and adults laughing as they tried to get their bicycle/carts up and over the bridges. We will go back next year for sure."

"Upon checking in, we got a free room upgrade. Following this, one of the friendlest staff members gave us a limo golf cart ride to our room. The staff was amazing as was our room. 50 feet from the water with a fire pit. If you do want to stay here, take a map with you. the place is a maze of palms and tropical flaura. Barefoot restaurant is a family friendly place that has really good food at an affordable price. Chicken quesadilla is Bomb..."

"The landscape is beautiful and you can't beat the location, but don't let this distract you. The rooms are terribly noisy and not terribly clean. Our (first) room was very humid, smelly, with ants everywhere and the heater/air conditioning so loud it was impossible to sleep. We asked to change room and were put in a smaller unit, which was ok but the walls were paper thin and we did not get much sleep either. There was food on the floor when we got in and a million ants (again) feasting on it. We complained again.... The reception staff was very nice and always accomodating, but really, their room manager shoud be fired. It is a great place for kids, with numerous pools throughout the resort, and a good breakfast/diner restaurant by the water if you don't want to go out. Beware they do charge a lot for extra stuff such as Parking and Internet and other activities you may not actually enjoy... adds up very quicky. Not sure I would return....though again, the location is really cool."

"Our stay was everything we hoped for except the pool temperature which was a bit too cool for the weather. However, when asked, the staff did warm it up a few degrees which we greatly appreciated. The architecture, design, cleanliness of the rooms and of course, the beach was all that it was advertised to be. We loved the casualness of the Barefoot Grill since we have an 8 year old. The bonfire on the beach was the culmination of a great weekend long adventure."

"Nice resort! Grounds are lovely. Housekeeping could use a refresher course on how to clean a room thoroughly. Main problem was the added 17 dollar per night amenities fee and the 32 dollar per night parking fee. That was a bit too excessive adding those fee's onto your hotel bill. NOTE TO HOTEL: Make your hotel one price. Add the amenities and parking fee into the price upfront. Then we know what we're actually paying for. Barefoot Bar and Grill was excellent! Staff was always friendly and helpful."

"I've been to several places that claim 'resort and spa' status, normally increasing the cost of EVERYTHING but not always matching the increased $ with high-quality service - not the case w/this resort: A TRUE GEM! worth every penny and then some; moderately priced restaurants with high-quality food; well-trained, informative, helpful and FRIENDLY (without being creepy) staff; cute, retro-1950's style bungalow cottages w/a cool modern twist and update; but best of all was the Spa :-)"

"Paradise Point is getting old and is very run down!!! The rooms are jusk ok,the walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors. The paint is peeling off the walls and the patio furniture was dusty and old.The rooms are very musty and there is a sulfur smell all around the resort!! The main pool was nice but the smaller pools are a joke! We had some issues but the manager did apologize and offer to comp us one night. He said come see him at the front desk and he would be happy to help us. We did finally get out of our room and went to the zoo, and when we got back to the hotel, the manager we spoke to was no where to be found and the hotel DID NOT comp us the one night as promised!!! RUDE!!! They offered to move us to another room and pay 1/2 price...no deal!!!! We went home instead,we did not feel safe at this very unprofessional hotel!!! I would not go back nor would I recommend this to anyone else!"

"considering how empty the place was on a spring break week I found it to be really expensive also considering the 17$per night amenities fee and the 32 dollar per night parking fee on top of the room and food costs. the rooms have a linen closet but no place for luggage or clothing in the room, tv remote didn't work 8:30 am housekeeping call was a bit much no bible no desk and no information of value in the room about the resort. better signage would have helped too! It is a great piece of real estate, people generally friendly, but not with valuable information. A lot of untapped potential"

"The environment was really nice, specially the pools where kids as well as adults can have a really nice time. The fact that they charge you for the parking as well as the internet that comes disguised as a 'Paradise passport' isn't a good marketing move and is overpriced. If they are a resort as they say they are this kind of things should be included, even if that increases the overall price a little bit. The rooms promised to be better, I have stayed in better rooms without the parafernalia of the 'resort' word in it. I would come back though, the landscaping is worth it."

"This hotel is way over rated and priced, it is old, needs updated, food and drinks are way overpriced, curtains where falling off, wood was cracked and coming apart, ciggarette butts all over outside, broken beer bottle on patio, grounds and staff are nice but the rooms are not what I expected..I would never stay there again.....My room was dirty when I arrived, they had to come clean it. I was not offered a new room or any compensation for my inconvenience, even when I asked for a microwave they told me it would be 20 dollars a day, that would of been 100.00 dollars for our stay, cheaper to just go buy one.....Do not and will not recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!!!!"

"My wife and I enjoyed our stay. The landscaping and scenery was definitely the resort's strongest attributes. I liked the fact that there were multiple pools around the resort even though we never used them because of the weather. I was surprised at the high $28 daily charge for a parking pass and the cost of using their computer for the internet. Plus there's also an extra 'passport to paradise' daily charge of $17/night that I didn't know about until we got there."

"I thought the grounds, including the pools and beach were really nice. They were definitely of a 4 or 5 star level. We have two boys ages 8 and 10 and it was a really good place to take them as they swam all the time and the pools are set up nicely for kids (not too deep). Our room on the other hand was of two star quality. Thin walls where we could hear the TV going or people talking and they looked liked they have been doing the bare minimum to keep them up to date. I travel a lot for business and have stayed in lots of different hotels and our room was well below standard business-class hotel rooms. The room was very small, especially for a family of four. I looked at one of the suites while I was there and they looked a lot nicer, so that may be the way to go if you are going as a family. Also, they may be laid out better so that you are not hearing the people in the room next to you. Luckily we didn't have a newlywed couple next to us or we would have had to get earplugs for our kids (and us!)... I would recommend this hotel, but with caveats."

"Despite it being a gloomy rainy day, I loved the resort! The staff was friendly, the rooms and grounds were beautiful. The pool was heated so we went swimming and in the hot tub even though it was raining. Loved the lagoon running behind our room. We had two adjoining rooms and no other rooms were connected to our two so we didn't have to worry about being 'too loud' which was awesome! I will definitely be going back in the summer! (yes, they charge for parking and a resort fee but it isn't anything out of the ordinary and i've paid WAY more in WAY less nice places so that would not deter me from coming again.)"

"This resort was paradise, so much to see in a week just in the resort. It is a perfect place near all of the attractions and the gardens throughout the property are amazing. There is a pool around almost every corner, however the beach is hard to access unless you have a beach room. The room was nice and had a couple of unexpected amenities like a microwave. However, most of the rooms have a not so nice view of the highway or roadway which was an unwelcoming surprise. Be prepared to walk this property is very large and quite a walk to the main building. The one thing I would say is it was a bit decieving to find out that you have to pay a resort fee. So be prepared to pay another $260 for a week in addition to what you pay. We were not happy to find that out because it wasn't disclosed. Not to mention the activities we wanted to do like bike riding and mini golf is not included in that fee. Overall it was a great vacation!!"

"Resort was very expensive for a family vacation. Not sure what the extra charge per day was about. Everything we wanted to do was an extra charge, riding bikes, bonfire on beach, etc. Not much within walking distance and cabs were over charging something different each time. "My hubby stayed here as a kid, and he always wanted to go back, so we took our 22 month old to Sea World and decided we would stay here, even though it was so much cheaper to stay elsewhere. The FD clerks were always very friendly and lowered our parking fee to $10/nt, but the parking spots are made for tiny cars. We were cramped by big vans and SUV's on both sides of us, and sometimes it was a challenge getting our baby into the carseat. The rooms were smaller than I expected, and we got a free upgrade to the 'Garden View', which all that meant to me was you get 2 chairs outside to sit and see your neighbors, but there was no view. We stayed 3 nights and after the first night we noticed tiny ants crawling all over the desk, even though the only food we had was in the fridge. So on the 2nd day we told the FD about it and asked if they would also change the lightbulb outside our door as it was burned out and very dark when we arrived at night. We also wanted housekeeping service this day. But when we got back after a very long day at the Zoo, we found ants still all over the desk, and they didn't change our sheets, just remade the bed. I wasn't very impressed about that. I mean we are paying $25 in extra fees a day on top of the room rate and we can't even get clean sheets? The 'resort' is nice, and the lobby area at night is neat as they have it lit up with fire, and the Barefoot Grill has fire too. I could see staying here if you were coming to San Diego for a week long visit and only had 2 or 3 days planned, where you could spend the rest of the time at the resort and enjoy the amenities, but when you are staying 3 nights and have 2 whole days planned, you do not get what you pay for."

"My family took a couple of days off for vacation with a soon-to-be toddler to relieve stress out away from city & traffic. Though San Diego also is a big city, you feel like you're off somewhere else as you enter this resort - it has private beaches, tropical resort surroundings. My baby loved the duckies walking in the backyard. I think Wi-Fi should be provided free, instead they charged a Package Fee of $14 something for WiFi and all the other Amenities. They took care of my Daily Parking Fee of $28 per day, because I didn't get the King Size Bed that I booked. 2 Queen Size Beds worked just fine for us. I would definitely come back to this resort in the future. :)"

"We had a great time. The resort had a Hawaiian feel to it. I also liked the fact that it was not crowded like other parts of San Diego. The pool and spa was a little sandy dirty, but everything else was clean. We got a great rate for our room, but when we got there the parking and internet fees where on the high side. Over all we hope to have a return trip."

"I think Paradise Point was worth the value that I paid. I would not want to pay full price though. For that price, I would prefer to stay at a newer hotel or condo. If you are use to upscale hotels/condos, this probably isn't the place for you. The Bungalows are a little dated.
Overall this would be a great place for families. The pools and hot tubs were nice and clean. Cool little walking paths, basketball, and tennis courts. Onsight bicycle rentals, boat, and jet ski rentals. There is a private beach which is right outside of your bungalow which makes it convenient for larger families. It is centrally located between the Mission/Pacific Beach, Gaslamp District and Coronado Isand.

"We stayed at Paradise Point for 6 nights in May 2012. It is a beautiful resort with luscious grounds, excellent staff, and everything you need right there. We loved coming back to our room on the scenic lagoon each evening to relax on the lanai and feed the ducks after a day of sightseeing. The only issue we had was with the cost of parking. They charged us $28 per night for a spot that was designated solely for our room! If we didn't have a car, the stall would have sat empty, but they still charged us almost as much as the car rental itself to use the stall. The $17 per day resort fee, which we expected (although we didn't use any of the amenities covered by the fee), plus the $28 parking fee added up to an additional $45 per day. Not a big deal, but it just hurt a little when we paid the bill upon checkout. Otherwise, it was a wonderful vacation and I'd still recommend the property, but include a warning about the additional costs. "

"So the hotel has a great ring to it and sounds very up scale. The name is slightly miss leading as is the four star rating. I thought in my personal experience that the resort is closer to 3 stars. Pros: The room was very clean, the daily maid service was fantastic, everything worked in the room, we were in the Garden Lani Suite and the wet bar area was fantastic, The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and took care of our every need. The bellmen were fantastic and gave us great ideas of what to go see and do in San Diego on a tight budget. the rooms seemed to be fairly quiet and the surrounding gardens were very well maintained. our 'private patio' is not secluded from others but was very nice to sit on and read. Cons: The room shows it's age, there were no chairs or towels available for the beach which really stunk. The fire pits were BYOW or bring your own wood and chair to sit around them. The prices at the Island store were outrageous because they know you have no where else to go. The food at the pool side grill, though good, was way over priced. Cost me $25 dollars for some tacos and a plate of fruit. TIPS: Utilize the local metro transit system, for 5 dollars a person you can ride the buses and trolleys all day. from less than a quarter of a mile from the hotel you can catch a bus that brings you into old town San Diego, where there is a lot to do and see for free, then catch a trolley from there into downtown San Diego. The trolleys service seaport villeage and the gaslamp district so really everything is within a few short rides and all for 5 bucks a day."

"This resort was absolutely beautiful. The gardens, ponds, ducks, fish, were amazing to just walk around and look. You can have as peaceful and quiet of a vacation here or go out and about to numerous San Diego sites within a close distance. My only complaint would be our room smelled musty upon entering it, but once you were in it a bit you didn't notice it anymroe. Coupling the room with the flight to San Diego made this a very affordable resort to stay at."

"Paradise Point Resort - for my wife and I - an excellent getaway. Staff very friendly and accommodating - property beautiful - cottage on the bay had everything we needed. The Resort cat (stray I believe) was an extra bonus - we fed it regularly - don't know if that was appreciated - however - we did. Rather than pay the high cost of parking at the Resort - we became temporary 'San Diegons' and much used the very efficient San Diego transit system. We loved the Resort and San Diego - will definitely return to both - and - not hesitate - to recommend both.
Overall experience - excellent - including Bookit !!

"My two teenage boys loved this resort and made good use of all the facilities. I was a little disappointed with the beach but considering the number of beautiful beaches close by this wasn't really a problem. Like a lot of accommodation in San Diego you need to use your car if you want to explore restaurants/shops as they are not in walking distance. Having said that there were of course restaurants/shops on site. Overall this resort was good value for money."
