Stayed at this beach inn because it is right there in the middle of the beach scene. Basic but comfortable, clean and affordable. My room was on the second floor with a small view of the sea. The room also included a small kitchen with a sink, large frig and microwave. Just step out the door and you are right on the boardwalk where you can run, eat, drink, ride a bike, or just enjoy the sun. Easy access to La Jolla and Mission beach. I recommend visiting Pacific Beach as part of your disco... Read more

Our cute little room was 2nd story with a magnificent view of the Pacific. We left the windows open for the sea breeze and to hear the surf all night! Incredible "beach scene" along the boardwalk where we chatted with locals and tourists alike. (So many surfers!) Admittedly, I'm from the "Gidget" era. Maybe that's why I fell in love with this retro inn. It is cute, clean, family-friendly, and close to everything! Best value in San Diego. I'll never stay anywhere else!

If you are looking for a cheap hotel this might be the right choice. The rooms are clean and very basic: a bed, coffee maker, magnetron, small refrigerator, tv, small bathroom. No desk, nor chair. The hotel offers free wifi and a limited continental breakfast. There are a limited number of parking spaces (8) for 23 rooms. You can reserve your parking spot but it'll cost you 20 USD per night. But parking space in the neigbourhood is very scarce, even in low-season.

Very good location- close to the 30 bus if you're traveling by public transport. Take advantage of the surf boards, boogie boards, and bikes that are located in the lobby. The rooms are fairly basic, but if you're planning on spending time outside/ visiting amenities in the area, you should be fine. Also the Wifi was great, so if you do want to chill indoors you should have no problem logging on and relaxing inside. Beds are big and comfortable- would be a great choice for a couple on a budget... Read more

Location, Location, did I say location already lol! Staff was very friendly and I accidentally took my room key with me after checking out but management was willing to work with me to get the key back to them! This will definitely be a memorable lodging experience! Conveniently located near many restaurants, bars, and most importantly the beautiful Crystal Pier! Downsides-Parking was tight and limited but it is beach front! I ended up shelling out the $20 for reserved parking since I was In an... Read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights in 2015, as part of a 10 day road trip. I wanted to stay at a beachfront hotel, and this one was by far the most affordable! It was my favorite place we stayed! We loved our first visit to San Diego and had to come back again from MN this year. This time for 3 nights. The hotel is no-frills but clean and comfortable, and meets all of our needs, including a tight vacation budget. We take trips to get outside and adventure and there is plenty to do withi... Great Beach Location. We considered one of the expensive resorts with lots of amenities. We considered one on the affordable hotels in Mission Valley. We decided to get something better by staying at the Pacific View Inn. The location is great. Right next to the beach. You can hear the ocean from your room. Close to lots of great restaurants. Close to lots of great bars. Convenient access to the beach. It's a modest hotel, but the rooms are comfortable. The hotel itself doesn't have am... Read more

Although the location and staff are great, the rooms are very small. I think our room only came with two double beds wall to wall... and it didn't have air conditioning. They provide you with a fan and I thought opening the windows would be enough. It was NOT! This hotel is also near several bars and it is noisy at night. Also there are very few parking spots, which you pay $20 extra per day.

Clean little place, friendly staff, but VERY limited parking. Website only states $20 for self-park, but didn't mention that there was only 6 or 7 parking spaces, and they sell out quickly. Parking on the street is free, but 2 hour limit. We found a parking lot a couple blocks away that charged $40 for overnight. The room itself was clean, functional (our bargain room had a kitchen and full fridge - bonus!). The price was affordable. I would stay here again for sure! š???

This hotel has pros and cons. The main advantage is that it's right on the pathway that follows the beach all the way down to Mission Valley. And the hotel has bikes that you can borrow. There are some decent bars and restaurants nearby, but the hotel itself is in a quiet area. It's got the feeling of a beach house from the 70s. I think the hotel is overpriced for what they offer. My room was somewhat cramped and it was actually difficult to move around in the bathroom. There's no AC and the TV... Read more

Stayed here for 2 nights with family. Price is right, location is excellent, and the staff is super friendly. Donā??t look to be spoiled by amenities of the hotel, but if you want to be on the beach, and save your wallet, then this is an excellent choice. Also, the BEST fish tacos are just around the corner. Oscarā??s. Unbelievable. Good times.

Nice little hotel infront of the beach in PB close to shops, restaurants, bars, beachwalks, etc. The staff is very friendly and always looking that you're having a nice stay + the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Only cons are parking and noise if you stay on a busy weekend

Took a "mommy and son" trip to San Diego and I chose to stay here because of how close it was to the pier. But I was so happy with my little get away because of Pacific INN! They nailed it...when I first arrived for check-in my Debit card decline, I was so embarrassed and frustrated. There was a certain amount limit on my card I was not aware of. They allowed me to check-in, settle in and then take care of my card issue. When my son and I finally got to our room, it was spotless. We stayed in on... Read more

The staff was very friendly and the cleaning technicians did a great job. The location is amazing, steps from the beach making it extremely convenient. I highly recommend reserving a parking spot, they only have a couple of spots and the rest is public parking thats always filled with beach goers. We reserved room 10, million dollar view! I would also recommend the ocean front rooms for the view, but most importantly the breeze that comes off the ocean, which is necessary since they don't hav... Read more

Amazing little hotel right on the beach and walking distance to bars, restaurants and shopping. The hotel rooms are small but ideal for anyone who doesn't plan on staying in their rooms aside sleeping. My husband and me went for 5 nights in March 2016 to surf and visit friends. This hotel was perfect for us. It was right next to everything and was right on the beach. The staff was friendly and our room well kept from daily cleaning service. Everyday we woke up to the sound of the beach and was ... Read more

We arrived in PB in the evening after a long trip from Santa Cruz . All we wanted was to relax . We went to check in. The Front desk manager made us feel very unwelcomed.. He gave us a very hard time checking in to the point of us not really wanting to stay now. Other than that , the location was great, the room was average.

10/25/16. Just spent a long weekend in PB. First stay after many years of wishing we had booked a room at the Pacific View. GREAT location basically on the beach, AND within a block or so of both KONO'S and Taco Surf! Staff was great, Justin was very pleasant and accommodating. The rooms are clean and what one would expect of a Hotel of its time. No AC. but if you take notice AC isn't a big deal around PB and Mission. So, if you're too pampered to deal with a little extra heat, maybe you should... Read more

Fantastic and simple inn right on the beach. Exactly what you need for a peaceful stay in San Diego. The room is simple and comes equipped with a fridge, microwave and comfy bed. The service was exceptionally friendly and thoughtful. Great breakfast that includes juices, coffee pastries, bagels, yogurts and fruit. The inn even includes beach rentals (surfboards, umbrellas, bikes) available to purchase for a small fee. There is 24 hour parking right by the inn that is free and easy to find. You l... Read more

Right on beach and friendly staff but they check out at 9pm and we had some really loud and drunk neighbors that were screaming till 3am. No one to call except police to get them to be quiet. Room was decent. Get what you pay for. Small shower and pillows rock hard. The breakfast is sparse and parking is 20 bucks. Will find another place in the future.
