A very good experience. The staff were the highlight, right down to maintenance and housekeepers who greeted me in the halls. The whole staff seemed to bring a local disposition to their interactions - the community had a presence. This is exactly why we travel!

Spent 2 nights there recently; lovely hotel, very nice rooms - hotel staff are extremely friendly and went out of their way to help. We were on the first floor so noise from hotel events could be heard in the hallways so ask for higher floors to be away from noise. The beach is absolutely beautiful and the hotel is a 3 min walk to the beach.

Nice location but very limited in space . I felt like my entire stay was a little cramped for space ie. room size, bath facilities, balcony, etc. The hotel staff was awesome. Your value for the $$$$$ is not consistent with other 5 Star properties I have stayed in.

Location, location, location you can't get better than this property. The resort is always five star, the shopping, phenomenal restaurants, beautiful pool, romantic terraces, perfect sandy beaches, fine art galleries, skate, surf & turf shops nearby and the perfect mall awaits out the front door. The service is top notch and the decor is immaculate. Great golf stop over as well as pet friendly to a point...

We had 2 rooms with adjoining patios so the grandchildren could go back and forth without bothering other guests. The rooms are nicely.decorated and very comfortable and the hotel offers stunning views. The location was fairly centrally located for our visits to Legoland, Wild Animal Park and Sea World. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Spectacular grounds, close to every amazing restaurant you could hope for during the weekend, great service and comfortable rooms. Night scene is perfect for either relaxing or hanging out with friends, good bartenders that'll make anything you can ask for. Spa was nice. Only downside was that it's missing the small touches. Things like complimentary water in the rooms, robes, a bed that doesn't taco, a bit more lavish on the spa side. Will definitely return and most enjoyable! PS: I forgot to... Read more

This hotel is outstanding, but first a few drawbacks which don't even amount to losing a star: - The hotel was in need of repair when we visited, which perhaps as been done now. Many tiles missing, and a lot of sand at the bottom made for a pool that didn't look too great. - The hotel is not right on the beach, there's a road, between the two, as well as a lot of public parks.

Our room location was undesirablel - first floor, near the pool & parking lot. Excessive noise from hotel guest in the poo/restaurantl area, parking lot (car alarms/car doors slamming) and interior corridor did not allow for a good night of sleep in our 4 night stay. I am not sure if it was because it was the July 4th holiday, but the service for the weekend was sub par. I have always enjoyed staying at L'Auberge Del Mar, a little jewel box of a hotel on the Pacific. But, it's probably time for a refresh. The elevators are starting to look tired - had I not known better, I might have mistaken it for a freight elevator. Also, the AC fans in the rooms make a loud noise. Last, it is difficult to get a bite to eat after 9:30 pm. My usual flight here from the East Coast gets me here right about 9:30 and I probably will just stop on the way from the airport -- no... We enjoyed our visit, and will return. The room was set up well; the bathroom was nicely done with marble and a standing shower. The Coastal King we reserved only had an ocean view if you went out on the balcony and looked sideways; otherwise it was a view of the dining terrace and other rooms. Service was great throughout. Spa services were also excellent.

The patio off our garden view room was lovely, the bed was very comfortable and the finishes throughout the room were cozy and beachy. A wine hour or other complimentary service would be a nice addition considering the price of the hotel and the gym could be a bit newer and more user friendly. Cruiser bikes and tennis is included, which is very nice.

This was our first time staying at L'Auberge. It is very comfortable and friendly, while still being upscale. The beds were luxurious and the rooms are spacious. We will definitely come back. Highly recommend this hotel!

Our experience is that this property has gone way down in total experience. it used to be a luxury hotel and now it is average. Under construction and smelly towels ruined this stay. we have been coming to the property for 20 years. I hope it is a temporary lapse and not permanent.
