Situation on Mission Bay, a short walk across the bridge to Mission Beach, this is an ideal location to enjoy San Diego. Mere minutes from the airport and downtown, it is super easy to get anywhere. The rooms are comfortable, best views are from the Tower. The pool is extremely kid friendly with zero entry and double water slides. Service is friendly and eager to please. Beware the resort, parking and taxes that can elevate the daily room price, but overall, still a good value. Would have li... Read more

We stayed at this hotel recently for business but had a lot of downtime during the week. The location made it really easy to get downtown ( Uber- fantastic) or to the attractions around the city. It is set on the water with great walkways all around and an interesting Marina beside the hotel. Amazing to sit having breakfast and watch a couple wake up on their boat and venture out to the spa pool on the boat, switch on the outdoor TV and relax with thermoses of coffee, right in front of us! I stayed here a few years ago when I was in town for business. Really nice view of the marina and boardwalk. ALso could hear the sea lions in the a.m. The rooms with the king beds have a curtain that separate the living and sleeping space. I traveled before June 2015.

The Marina and bay location of this property was beautiful. Unfortunately, the rooms need an update and refurbishment. The pool itself was fun but the Pool lounges appear dirty and unkept. We ate breakfast, appetizers and dinner at the hotel and the food was very nice. Portions are big and a good value for the dollar.

Driving a couple extra miles is worth it. Hyatt location and people are good, but the amenities are average at best. Just dated and not invested in obviously. Its a shame really, but if they don't have the revenue... its a location overpriced and under cared for.

Outstanding Location within the Mission Bay area of San Diego, within walking distances of Sea World, as well as several nearby beaches and marina areas. As a Hyatt Lifetime Diamond member, was afforded the opportunity to spend six nights on on the corner waterfront suites, which enhanced our vacation getaway.

Although the location is pretty, the staff is very sloppy, ill trained. We had problems with getting out room cleaned, despite being gone the entire day, we had to make repeated requests for missing items as basic as the TV remote and face towels, and the valet people were really clueless - we wheeled down our own bags, and the bell guy just stood there texting while we were trying to load the car - so much for missing his tip! The rooms are nothing fancy, just pretty basic. The food at the ... Read more

We came for a quick weekend getaway, and chose this place last minute. Don't be fooled by the professional photos, this hotel needs some updating. When we arrived, we were told our room was not yet ready, despite it being nearly 5:00pm. After we finally got the our room, the carpets were damp. Really gross. We tried to convince ourselves that they had just been cleaned (but why were they dirty?!). We did not sit on the couch as it looked scuzzy. Bed was fine, bathroom had a few spots of mold and... There are so many great hotel in the area but we always like to stay at this hotel. Staff are friendly, ample amenities for young and old, parking space are plenty and great location as well. The very feature that we like and enjoyed most are the pools. Our kids love it and they can stop going up and down the slides. Food are great too! Our last stay we were able to stay on the higher floor. The view was just great.

The overall grounds of the hotel are nice, and the pools with water slides were great for our daughter. The staff is friendly, and the room was mostly clean. For the price I expected the room to be in a little nicer condition and didn't expect to have to ask for it to be cleaned. The patio curtain was very dirty, and wasn't changed even after we pointed it out to the front desk. The room had fabulous views however, room 1702 is under hotel ventilation or other heavy equipment so the noise is bad unless you wear earplugs. Mission Bay is a great place to stay in San Diego. It's close to the beach, Old town, Sea World, Zoo, etc. Our room overlooked the marina and it was very peaceful and beautiful. Also cooler than locations in town. Nice pool - because of its close proximity to Sea World, there are a LOT OF KIDS. I went to the pool every day for 6 days and only once was able to get a towel and a chair when I arrived. Also, there are no laundry facilities, just a laundry service.

We had high expectations for this property but were we disappointed. We stayed here our first night in California and found it to be very outdated. The room was decent size but showed its age. Being Hyatt diamond member we hoped for a nice breakfast in the regency club but found the selection to be worse than you would get at a holiday inn express. Hotel must see a lot of traffic being located so close to Sea World and San Diego. Property could really use a soft goods update in all areas of the hotels and sleeping rooms. Restaurant at the pool is too small for the amount of guest that need to be serviced. Water Front Suites need a major face lift

I really hoped for the best with this hotel. We love staying at Hyatt properties all over the world, so we were expecting it's high standards. It was Comic-con weekend and all the usual places we normally choose to stay at were sold out or the prices were through the roof all around San Diego. Since we were not coming in for the convention and were attending a family function around Mission Bay we decided to stay at this property. We stayed in a room located in the BAY II wing, our room was on... Read more

I have been a loyal customer of your hotel and have always appreciated the excellent customer service you offer. Yet a recent unpleasant experience at your hotel has shaken my belief in your ability to provide top notch customer care all the time. I stayed in room # of your name of hotel from June/03/2016 to June 04/2016 (confirmation #19545704). This may be a small thing, your rusty iron fence by the pool area, it bothered me and my child. I had my towels in the hand and go past by, there was... Read more

We were looking for a jumping off point to go to SeaWorld and Mission Bay and this hotel was perfectly located just a few minutes from each. We had 2 dogs with us and they were able to accommodate the dogs and still have us in a bay front room facing the evening sunset. Overall great experience!

The staff was very friendly and helpful while the restaurant had good food and very good service. The room was dated and in need of repair. I expected more as this was my first visit at a Hyatt and for the price I thought the room should have been much nicer.

This hotel needs a major overhaul starting with the management. .to the, staff and needs to be cleaned. There are clumps of bird feathers that just don't get cleaned..my room was filthy with black mold under soap dish...dirty night stands with scum that you could scrape with your fingernails...old used kleenex behind nightstand...stained furniture and bed backboard...dust and cobwebs in air vent and inadequate cooling with the old air unit. Manager on duty did not handle problem. The hotel has... Read more

Mission Bay is a very nice area. However, since we did not have a car the hotel was located too far away from the city centre. Our room was ok, however, it was a bit dark since the only view was heaps of trees. The pool area was nice. Maybe the tower rooms are better. We would consider them if we come back. The rooms were clean and the staff was nice. Some redecorating would give a better impression.

My husband and I have stayed here three times. We have always found the property clean, the rooms are updated( with a little wear and tear on upholstery), and the on site restaurant, Red Marlin, to have very good food. We always stay in a tower room, at the front, and the views are stunning. This is not a couples resort for those expecting a quiet romantic stay. This resort caters mostly to families. There are lots of children. It is also not one of the higher end Hyatt Regencys. You do not hav... Read more

Location, location...you couldn't ask for a better location to enjoy everything San Diego has to offer. From MB to PB to OB it is all easily accessible. The hotel, well it has a lot of work to deserve the 4/5 Diamond Award displayed in the lobby. Deferred maintenance is the theme...if they would just put some money into the hotel they might just see the returns. Rooms are nice but need some TLC...we stayed in the main building and it just wasn't maintained the way you would expect. The grounds w... Read more

Had an absolute great time. Great room with a view of the harbor, clean and comfortable. Really nice pool and good live music at the restaurant. Smore's around the fire pit was a treat. Close to so many things. 5 min to the beaches!

Beautiful rooms. They have the tower and they have bay rooms. We stayed in the bay rooms and we were located near the pool. It was very comfortable and five star quality. The beds were extremly comfortable and we would definitely stay again. The check in representative, Haley was very professional and sweet. If you have kids, each child will receive a kids cup that you can go to any of the restaurants including the bar by the pool and the kids drinks are complimentary. Perfect location too. 2 mi... This property has different buildings for different needs, Although the suites building did not suit my personal needs, the management did a very good job at helping me to determine what type of building and room suited my tastes and needs. The worst things: Don't be confused about the on-site coffee shop. While they sell Starbucks coffee, they are not an actual Starbucks and the coffee and snacks speak for themselves. The gnat problem in the suites. Charges a daily resort fee, but not real... Read more

This was the second time I have stayed here. The views are amazing and the service was impeccable. SWIM, the pool bar, was a great hang out. The seals were a little annoying but, the view from the room balconies make up it. I can wait to go back.

The view from our 11th floor room was gorgeous. I loved the little balcony with great chairs to enjoy the sights or a quiet moment. The room was good. There were a number of very good restaurants too. The concierge was very good. The staff at the spa was great, yet the actual spa was lacking. There were problems with the showers that I reported the first day and on day three they still had the problems. A little cramped too to be a spa destination. We had to share the pool and hot tub wit... Read more

This Hotel is definitely not Hyatt Standard. I am deeply disapointed, Rooms, Natriums , Furniture Restaurant and Pool Area are at maximum Motel Standard! Not only not worth the Money, but ruined my vacation! All run down, Sorry to say ........ Staff is very friendly, but cannot compensate for Pooth Qualität of Restaurants, etc

Stayed at The Hyatt in August in a Deluxe Queen Marina view room in The Tower. Nice basic room good size. Good water pressure from extremely short shower head! Loved free hour of SUP and even took a jet ski out for another hour for $99. Right down from the hotel at Mission Beach Sportscenter. Would have liked the beautiful pools and water slides a tad warmer. The pool area was pretty windy and shady and the pool was too chilly for my liking. Swim bar lounge had great food and reasonable prices ... Read more

Stayed here for 3 nights. Two adults and 2 kids (15 & 12). The front desk staff was kind at check-in. We were given our choice of rooms with suggestions from the woman checking us in. Ended up with a room high up, with an awesome view of the Sea World fireworks. Spent most of our days exploring San Diego and our evenings at the pool. The pool was great and very popular. It was more of a resort setting than a typical hotel pool. Also enjoyed the fire pit. You can go into the poolside bar and get ... Read more

The room was large, clean and had good quality beds and bedding. The bathroom had a good (if not a little noisy) shower/bath and 2 sinks. The hotel itself had a lovely pool with plenty of room for sitting and sunbathing on the sun loungers with a good pool-side bar and café. The only downside of the hotel was the water taxi to Sea World. We were given a timetable and had paid for the service in advance, and after waiting for the 8.40am boat for half an hour and a family (also hoping to get the ... Read more

We came to San Diego for a wedding with the family and booked a suite at the Hyatt, their largest rooms. We arrived at 330 and were told that check in was 4. At 4 our room was still not ready. By 445 we left to go to a wedding event that started at 3, still unchecked in. The only compensation they offered was a complimentary app. The food at this hotel leaves a lot to be desired. Think airport food and prices. When we returned at 7 our room was ready. The property is nice and the staff was mostl... Read more

We arrived a little early so our room was not ready. The front desk clerk was quite helpful and gave us a pool pass so we could enjoy the three pools while we waited. We were notified in about a half hour our room was ready. We had booked a Seaworld Suite for our 11 year old granddaughters visit to Seaworld. The suite was spacious and clean with two separate bedrooms. The "Kids room" came with a bunk bed in a "Minions" theme. which our granddaughter enjoyed. Our granddaughter also enjoyed the la... Hotel location was great. Room was clean and as expected for a 2 queen. Balcony overlooking pool was great and could see sunsets. Be warned there is a resort fee and a parking fee. This will add $70 to your nightly expense. I didn't read the fine print so I want to make others aware. Now it is valet and they were excellent never waiting long for my car. There were some nice things included in the resort fee but not really worth the expense. Three pools and a hot tub. Pools were kind o... Read more

Fantastic stay. We stayed in the Bay II building on the first floor. We had a deck that faced the pool area. Inside we had one king bed and a large L-shaped couch large enough for our two kids. We stayed at the hotel more than expected. Enjoy!

The front desk staff seems superfivially nice but clearly don't want to help you. The Platinum desk person was nowhere to be seen when we checked in. When she finally came and we said "Oh, we were looking for you," she just stared at us. No "I'm sorry," "were you taken care of?" Nothing. We did get an upgrade because of our Hyatt status but the room's shower floor was kind of brown. It was obvious no one had taken a scrubber to this bathroom in quite some time. The shampoo had not been ch... Read more
