Great service .... Did not like the initial room & the front desk person was kind enough to upgrade us to a Jr. Suite with much better view & bigger . He did not charge us for the upgrade. I left my iPhone charger & Brad Oliver in the lost & found sent my charger to my office the very next day (yup no charge). These guys are nice , helpful, friendly & professional .

We were heading to Mesa, AZ for a graduation with a stop over at the Grand Canyon when we received an enticing email from Humphreys. We've stayed here before and always with great results. The email invited us back with a promise of a free upgrade and a voucher for food, drinks or activities. So we thought for a second or less; sun and sand, pool and great food......or a big hole in the ground! No contest! We chose sunny San Diego first and then zipped over I-8 to AZ in time for the graduation. ... Read more

We stay 3 nights, and had a pool view room. It was VERY nice! We were there in October, and they were having a heat wave, and the AC was grand! We really enjoyed the salt water pool. They provide poolside food and drinks, but we did not take advantage of that service. We were there for two concerts, but only stayed at the hotel for the latter concert. It's really convenient, and fun to stay there while attending a show. The hotel is on a peninsula with the surrounding are being park-like.... Read more

We enjoyed the pool and hot tub Robert at the pool was very friendly and made a great drink. Jewel concert was on third night. We watched her from the pool area. Gold fish in the pond and a gorgeous parrot. The room was cleaned well, the room service awesome as well as the food. Family friendly and would be great for a romantic getaway. I will definitely ... From the moment we checked in we loved it. We were here on Memorial Day Weekend. The room was very clean and comfortable. A little on the small side for 5 but that was not a problem. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Parking is a bit tight if you have a larger vehicle. The Beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. A bit pricey but the location is awesome.

Booked online and read the reviews.. Not disappointed. Great location on the island .. Great pool and facilities.. But note a family hotel. We tried Sunday brunch and was bowled over .. Amazing choice and quality .. Unlimited food and champagne.. Perfect Sunday afternoon. Only little downside .. the reception roof was being replaced and gave us little peace for a lie in as we were next to the reception. Noising building work with bleeping construction vehicles.. Humphreys was a very nice tropical themed place, right on the harbor. The rooms were simple and clean. There is concerts there on weekends with some big names. The pool is a huge rectangular salt water with a small bar next to the jacuzzi. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it as well

This is a great property if you don't need to be right downtown. Humphreys is near the airport and was relatively close to everything we wanted to see. The rooms are nice. We were upgraded to a mini-suite which was quite spacious. The view is terrific, the staff was cheerful and helpful. Free wifi and affordable parking make this a great deal. If you are here on a Sunday, consider the brunch--a bit pricey, but really good.

Shelter Island is a lovely location but if you didn't have a car, you might want to stay somewhere more central. There are some really good restaurants close by and Ralphs Supermarket is a 5 minute drive away, if you want to cook in your unit. The kitchen is well appointed - large fridge, gas hob etc but no oven which struck me as a little odd given the size of the kitchen. The pool is lovely and so are the grounds. Small room, very noisy air conditioner, missing light bulbs. The room we got was facing the parking lot, and on the same floor, just like a motel but much more expensive. Pool area was nice but no service at all. The restaurant is really slow, and there are better options in the neighborhood. Pool bar is so expensive you can go to Trader Joe's down the street, and get yourself wine and beer, salads and snacks, bring it back and have yourself a great brunch at the pool.

The centrally-located pool is large, inviting, and such a blast. It was open until 11pm and we took advantage of every last minute.... that said, if you are an early-to-bed type, you might want to book a room away from the pool as there may be a late-night "Marco, Polo" soundtrack until the pool closes. The location was great. My only compla... Read more

We stayed in a one bedroom suite overlooking the harbor. Nice balcony to enjoy the view. Room has a small kitchen as well. Pool was a lot of fun to relax and have a bite to eat. Hotel had bikes we used to pedal around for awhile. Little scary with small kids as there were no bike paths and the beach said bikes prohibited. Did find a sweet little dirt trail that followed the waters edge. Restaurant was good and the nightclub was fun. There was also a little putting green we all enjoyed.

We stayed in a standard room which unfortunately does not have a balcony. The view was amazing and it would have been nice to enjoy it from outside. That said, the room was really nice with the most comfortable beds we've ever had. Great entertainment in the evening in the bar with live music and plenty of dancing; no cover charge for guests. I found the restaurant a bit formal and although there was a room service menu available at the pool, we were a bit put off by having to ring up for somet... Read more

We stayed in a suite with a balcony view of the marina. Very relaxing, good place to unwind. The location is away from the crowds and traffic of downtown, but easy access to the city and beaches. Enjoyed breakfast on the balcony each morning, such a peaceful start to the day. My sons and I loved the pool, it is the perfect temperature and plenty of space to swim or float. We did use the bikes to explore Shelter Island which is a small area. On site restaurant and room service do not offer mu... Read more

We stayed in a suite overlooking the pool. The grounds and pool are very well cared for and maintained. There's a small waterfall where there are koi, a turtle and ducks. Later on a large parrot joined them. The restaurant, room service and pool bar were great to have on site. There were concerts 2 nights we were there but music ends by 10. The room was spacious and well appointed.

Really great hotel, fun pool, and the grounds are beautiful. There are trails along the water and a playground on the island. Good location for going to Sea World, Ocean Beach, and watching the Sunset at the Sunset Cliffs. We will definitely stay here again!

Sitting out on our patio listening to the birds and watching the sail boats bob and sway in the water while smelling that salt air made us so relaxed and so happy we chose to spend our vacation at Humphreys. The pool was clean and refreshing the food was excellent and getting to see Boz Skaggs at their open, outdoor performance venue was out of this world!!

WOW! Never even heard of this place and so glad we found it. Right on the bay, clean, courteous staff, and a great restaurant! The pool is nice and there is even a bar on the pool deck. You will have to pay to park but for CA that is pretty much the norm. Check the web site for entertainment cause when we went Boz Scaggs was performing on site!! We didn't know so the show was sold out. We were able to sit at our patio and hear the music perfectly because of the outdoor stage. There is live music... Read more

Everyone here is very nice and accommodating, the grounds are very clean and our room was very comfortable. When we arrived at the hotel at 4pm.I was told the room wasn't ready (it was the larger room and took longer than expected) and was told I would receive a call when it was. This gave us an opportunity to go to Ralphs (5 min drive away) and grab some groceries. When I returned around 5pm they said the room still wasn't ready, apologized and gave us a credit, and became available within 10 m... Read more

We booked our trip very last moment and my daughter picked out this hotel. The hotel has a Salt Water Pool, a hot tub, plenty of lounge chairs, tables and even a Ping Pong table, and poolside bar open for a few hours every day. The grounds are gorgeous really tropical. The pool is clean and there are plenty of towels and places to sit or lay out. Very relaxing. Our room was comfortable with two queen beds just steps away from the pool. It has a nice patio with a little table and two chairs. Th... Read more

Humphreys is a great spot to stay. If you can afford it book a grand marina suite. The room has it all and some of the best views of the marina and bay. Full kitchen, huge living room, it doesn't get any better!!! The picture is a view from the balcony.

We love the outdoor concert stage, the lush tropical landscaping, the restaurant with views of the boats in the harbor, re-modeled rooms and friendly staff. We like playing ping pong by the pool. We like to visit the parrots everyday.

Friendly staff and great concert venue. Bay view rooms overlook the bay and the beach is just across the street. Staff was very accommodating when we asked to change rooms due to the dryer vent below our balcony. The beach is nice and makes a great getaway for families. Very enjoyable stay

I was planning to see a concert at Humphrey's concert venue and wanted to get a room close by. I researched all the hotels on Shelter Island and decided on Humphreys based on their location, price and reviews. I made an excellent choice. I arrived early evening on a Friday and was greeted in the hotel lobby by a very kind man named David who assisted with my check-in. He was kind and courteous and gave me the best room int eh whole hotel! Oh my was it fabulous. I was overlooking the bay, the con... Read more
