I loved that I could easily walk to many amazing restaurants in Little Italy and it was very convenient to the tram (can't remember the proper name). The room was comfy and quiet. Breakfast was standard but that's what's to be expected. I would stay here when in San Diego again.

This is an odd mixture of Hilton properties- on one side is the Hilton Garden Inn Bayside, on the other side is the Homewood Suites. They have tried to merge the two properties in to one large location-I don't think it was a good idea. We had to have our rooms changed three times: the first time because the Hilton Garden Inn was brand new and the dresser/TV console was about 18" out from the wall and we couldn't walk or move around it. Apparently the construction crew did some work in the roo... Read more

What a great Hotel and eager staff. We were treated like royalty. The Hotel restaurant adjacent to Hilton Garden Inn has a Top Chef working there and a pastry chef who know their trades. Great service and food; even if you don't stay at the hotel, go eat there! Hotel was opened 5 days before we arrived, so new paint and carpet and minor construction still going on, but a great experience. We will be going back.

It was another long afternoon drive to San Diego from LA in hectic traffic, but once out of the 405 mess and on the autobahn aka the 73 tollroad not many take, the stress level diminished as I started thinking about my meeting the next morning. Then it dawned on me that I neglected to have my assistant set up my hotel reservations. I knew my HH points were almost enough for a weekend stay, so I called in my reservation and my options were now with a new property name. it dawned on me that the ne... Read more

We stayed here this past weekend for 3 nights and it was great! I was worried about it being brand new that maybe some things would be under construction or dirty but there literally was a "new car smell" all around the property. the room was exactly what we needed. bed was comfy and very little, if any, outside noise. the hotel is right next to the airport so planes fly reallllly close to the property but we didn't hear them when in the room. my only complaint (besides the $40/night for parking... Yes it's new and pretty, but it's also not sound resistant...at all. Sitting on a fairly major road, right next to the train tracks, and under the approach path to the airport, I can only recommend this hotel if you are lulled to sleep by the sounds of heavy machinery. I've spent over a year of my life on aircraft carriers and it kept me awake. Go elsewhere.

This hotel just opened up and they are obviously just not ready yet. The building and rooms are beautiful. Brand new and very modern design. But the staff and services need work. It took forever to check in with only two people in front of me (both being handled by different agents). I called down a couple of times to Guest Services and the phone just kept ringing one time and was put on hold for quite a while the other. Very poor, little or no cell phone reception at all inside the room. It was like being underground. Now, the comp Wifi they offer, sure is a nice draw, but it didn't work most times either and was very spotty. The hotel was nice, clean and new. The staff were friendly, great location, but that's all I can say.

The hotel had only been open a few days when I checked in, and everything was clearly brand-new. Very luxurious for a Hilton Garden Inn. Staff was friendly, helpful & enthusiastic. Only complaint: $40 per day for parking is outrageous. Also, beware dripping condensation from AC vents in breakfast room. Drip drip drip on me & my food and beverage.

This Hilton just opened a month ago. The rooms are great, the staff needs people skills. We asked for local restaurants but all they could recommend was the hotel restaurant. No complimentary coffee in lobby but the hotel that shares the property had coffee. Also $40 a day for valet parking is expensive. A Starbucks is the only place in walking distance everything else requires you to drive. Once you drive downtown about 2-3 miles you will wonder why you booked at the Hilton Garden.

THere are two hotels in one, so not sure if there is some sibling rivalry going on. Not sure it was worth the rate they were charging but..... it is San Diego. Parking is way too high $40. a day. No airport shuttle which is a big... Read more

Within walking distance to Little Italy where there were many shops and restaurants. Directly under the flight path for the landing runway of the airport but it was quiet at night and we had no problem sleeping. Comfortable beds, nice rooms, free wifi and the staff were very friendly. No in room safe which was very inconvenient but there are safety deposit boxes at the front desk. Our only complaint was housekeeping- we stayed for four nights and the floor in the bathroom was visibly dirty an... Read more

I recently stayed here for a week during a convention, this hotel is new and in a prime location. An easy 20min walk to the convention center or Gas Lamp, but Uber and Lyft are plentiful and inexpensive to get around town. The Hotel has a rather stiff valet fee and has no self-parking on site. The 6th floor is prime and offers fantastic views of the bay with floor to ceiling windows. The building seems to be split/shared with a Residence inn, this makes for some confusing signage on day 1 as you... Read more

This hotel is very conveniently located for my business. I also enjoyed the grand opening party. Breakfast is excellent. Rooms are large and very clean. My only issue is the cost to park a car. HH members should be given a special parking rate.

Traveling with three young kids. Stayed here before flying home early the next morning. Had a great outdoor pool and hot tub. You could hear traffic, but didn't bother us. We were right next to the pool, gym and laundry room. Great location since we were there only a few short hours. Could easily get a load of laundry done. Everyone was friendly, valet pulled our car quickly too. It was an enjoyable stay!

The hotel was beautiful and the staff from front desk ( Gatti) to restaurant chef ( Giselle) were extremely efficient, friendly and accomodating. In this our first ever west coast trip, we couldn't have been happier! San Diego is an amazing city with so much to do and the hotel is perfectly located to experience it all!

Quick business trip to San Diego saw us spending 4 nights at this hotel. The location was terrific--walking distance to Little Italy, quick access to I-5, 20mins from Coranado, 20mins from downtown SD..... The hotel amenities were good, the desk staff were helpful and friendly. We booked this hotel because it was convenient to business needs, but would return again for another business or pleasure trip!! We didn't know until we arrived, but the hotel sits across the street from railroad trac... Read more

Very modern and great location. Lobby open and airy and 2 blocks from Embarcodaro. The bar/restaurant was very nice and less than 10 minutes to gaslamp. I would definitely recommend this Hilton, the price was affordable.

First visit came to town for a wedding, spent (3) nights and thoroughly enjoyed the facility. Nicely appointed, neat pool/fitness area on second floor. Parking is a little problematic as the valet/hotel parking is $40.00 per night while street parking (if available) is FREE. Some lot parking about 3 blocks away is $8.00 for 24 hours. Close to Little Italy and many restaurants, bars, and city attractions. Wonderful harbor view if you ask the reservations person to accommodate your request, slight... Read more

This hotel was ok, rooms are clean and recently updated. Didnt like the fact that there was only a valert parking optiin, no place to self park at a discount. Was concerned the hotel is in direct flight path of airport with planes frequently overhead, but couldn't here them once in the room. Considering everything was average, not the geatest value for the money.

Loved the area and hotel staff was very helpful! We enjoyed visiting with the staff and they helped us find our way around the city and recommended places to tour and eat. We loved being able to walk to many places and then UBER to the rest of our destinations. We would love to return and stay at the property!

I have stayed in quite a few hotels this year for business, but none delivered such a great experience as this hotel. All of the staff were super friendly, from the front desk personnel to the custodial staff, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody. Not only is it a wonderful hotel with great people, it's also in an excellent location! Short walks to just about anything you'd like to do.

Auturo should take a course in friendliness and he definitly showed he did not care about his job and it reflected in how I was treated. Also Parking $40/night REALLY - HH member and all this is way over priced. There are other hotels in the area that I visited that would be just as nice with a rate comparable or lower and parking definitly lower

This is a fairly new property, blocks from Little Italy and the Bay. Some rooms have bay views and great sunsets, though when booking, it's not clear which rooms have those views. And the property is collocated with a Homewood Suites, which can be confusing. And, they only offer valet parking, which is $40 per night. Pretty steep. Restaurant has good breakfast, attentive wait staff. First night of our stay, returned to our room to find A/C not working. Called desk, said they would send enginee... Read more

This property was very nice. We stayed at this property for an 8 day vacation with our kids. Upon arriving at the hotel, the entrance was very airy, open and smelled wonderful. The gentleman at valet were very courteous and friendly to us every day. The only way to park at this hotel is via valet which is normally $40/night, but if you have an extended stay like we did they give you a discount. There is also parking nearby either in a lot, the street or another gated parking lot, but with o... Read more

I booked family package via hotel website, and was told that I have not and they blatantly refused to include breakfast. this was not nice, especially if you are travelling with family. Second, front desk staff is horrible, although they are nice and amicably, but it will take ages to get things done, whether its changing a room or a complain. Checkout however was fast.
