"Where to start:... The reviews above are right about the entrance; it isn't marked, and if you don't know what you are looking for you will spend 20 minutes circling back trying to find it. The room was nice enough for the price, I suppose, but the lack of a clock was upsetting to me. The fridge worked, but not the freezer. The bed sank in the middle. The last nights there we had no hot water (and this was after a week of odd weather: ice cold to flaming hot, back to ice cold, etc...). Our first night the AC blew a fuse, which wasn't fixed til the next day. The sign on the inside of the door lists the price around $149... if that had been the case we would have been furious. As it is, the $50 we spent kind of makes me mad. It's a good thing San Diego has a ton of stuff to do, so the terrible hotel we had didn't ruin our honeymoon..."

"A disappointment. We knew it was not going to be what we expected when we saw that they were advertising weekly rates. We felt safe enough, but would not stay there again. There was usually 2 or 3 people loitering around, which did not make us feel secure. Once inside the room, the carpet was dirty & sticky. The mattress was so old that it was very sunken in the middle. The bed spread & two chairs had cigarette burns.Despite the air conditioner looking very old, it did work, though it was very loud."

"ABSOLUTELY WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN. FROM THE TIME WE GOT THERE POLICE WERE ON THE PREMISES AND CONTINUED ON AND OFF FOR THE 3 DAYS WE WERE THERE. ROOMS GETTING RAIDED AND LOCK OUTS. WE TRIED TO RELAX AT THE HOTTUB BUT THERE WERE PEOPLE DOWN THERE DRINKING AND DROPPED BOTTLES AND LEFT THE BROKEN GLASS. THE TRAFFIC OF PEOPLE IN AND OUT OF THE MOTEL AND THE OFFICE WAS CRAZY. THE EMPLOYEES HAD FRIENDS IN AND OUT OF THE OFFICE AT ALL TIMES. AT ONE POINT THE GIRLFRIEND OF THE EMPLOYEE BASICALLY CUSSED OUT ONE OF THE BOYS FROM THE BASKETBALL TEAM WE WERE THERE WITH. . ON OUR FIRST NIGHT 2 GUYS BANGED ON OUR DOOR AT 2 AM AND WOULDNT ANSWER. WE CALLED THE OFFICE AND NOTHING WAS DONE.. THE SECOND NIGHT THERE WAS A PARTY IN THE ROOM NEXT DOOR TO OURS...AFTER CALLING THE OFFICE 3 TIMES WE WERE SO SICK OF IT AND WANTED TO SLEEP SO BAD. I WOULD RATHER SPEND TRIPLE THE MONEY THE STAY THERE EVER AGAIN. IN MY OPINION IT SHOULD BE CONDEMNED. IT IS NOT A HOTEL AT ALL."

"This place we would rate 'fair'....rooms were clean, NO bugs, enough towels. The price was good for the room. T.V. was old box kind, but worked fine and we could watch cable. Refrogerator gross..we left it unplugged. Walls pretty thin. We did feel safe...no vagrants digging through garbage...nothing like that. Wi-Fi didn't work....at all. We asked front desk and they said they had no clue. Don't expect WI-FI at this hotel. If your hotel room in front, you can hear highway at night. Location great. If you are not going to be out of your hotel that much ...it serves it's purpose. It is definitely NOT a resort. The comforters need to be removed...they are ancient, but linens and blankets were clean. This is not a 3 star hotel...it is like a Motel 6 that you just wasn't to use for sleeping and a quick shower."

"I didn't expect much for a $45 room and it was just about what I thought it would be. The positives were the price, friendly staff, no bed bugs, clean room (although worn looking), clean albeit small towels, and a working mini-frig. Downside: long-term families living in the hotel and some rather questionable young men going in and out, remote control didn't match TV so had to contend with English subtitles, bed was tolerable, lots of noise on Friday night, and didn't feel as safe as I have in other hotels. Friday night there were two police sirens and somebody on a bullhorn that I couldn't make out what he was saying and I didn't open the door to find out. If you miss the entrance off Fletcher Parkway, which is immediately to the right after leaving Highway 8, you have to work your way back through several lights which are very long and then you don't want to miss the left turn in to the hotel off Fletcher. All in all, it was OK but I'm not sure I would stay there again. I think another $15-$20 a night would at least equate to a better quality bed and no long-term residents and small children crying. Maybe."

"If they could make the refrigerators in the rooms functional and not just put in the rooms for the sake of it, it would be great. Also, as a first time visitor to the hotel location, it was a little bit difficult realizing we had got to the hotel enterance as it was confusing. If a sign could be posted with an arrow alerting the visitors/guests that this is hotel enterance, it would go a long way in saving them the inconvenience of missing and having to drive round the block, as we did, to get back to the enterance. Most importantly is the fact that the traffic on the road the hotel is located on is heavy and dangerous.rnrnThe location is beautiful with all shopping centers around. No noise and there was enough parking. There was no sight of fearful looking people. It was quiet and we had a good sleep and restful night."

"We had a long drive with our dogs. I was looking forward to a visit with family in the area and had made reservations weeks before. The hotel was horrid. We never even went in to see the room. The clerk looked like she had just woken up and the lobby was locked so we were supposed to stand outside and push our info and cards through a slot. We decided we would rather sleep in our car. I asked the clerk if they allowed people to live there 'long term' and she said that they had some people that were in 'transition'. Great! Just what we wanted to hear after 15 hours of driving."

"This was a good budget priced motel. It is hard to get into the first time, but after that it is a piece of cake. For being so close to the freeway the room was suprisingly quiet. It is nothing fancy, but the best value in La Mesa, CA. The next closest motel is twice the price. The bed was OK and the towels were small and thin, but what do you expect for only $50.00 a night? The rolls and coffee were good and the staff was very accomodating and friendly. We would stay there again.
