My wife and I stayed at the Hard Rock for 3 nights on a business trip. All of the staff members were very friendly. Hotel is in a great location, just a short walk to the bay where you can find shopping and some great restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times. It is my go to place for San Diego. It's close to everything in the gaslamp district including Petco park. Easy walk to the convention center. The staff is one of friendliest and helpful hotel staffs around. I will be back.

Friendly staff, great amenities and amazing location! We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back. Would recommend staying at Hard Rock to anyone. Great place for all purposes whether it's is business or pleasure. Breakfast at Maryjanes's is excellent! Rooftop bar Float has a great vibe and great drinks. Fire pits at night are great to keep you warm.

The location is excellent at the heart of the gas lamp quarter. Everyone was very attentive and all of my needs were met in a timely manner. It is a funky, fun experience and more lively than other hotels.

I have frequently stayed at the San Diego Omni and was disappointed when I saw it was booked for my most recent trip. Remembering that the Hard Rock was close, I decided to give it a shot, and I'm very pleased I did. The staff was incredible (Ernesto at the desk, may have been the most helpful person I've met in all my travels, not just San Diego), and the room was fantastic. I had some room service for breakfast. The service and quality of the food was fantastic. I love the Omni, but I see myse... Read more

I booked a long weekend at the HR. As a Marriott Gold level member, I wanted a little change of pace. What we got as paying customer was a confrontation with "security" over where I could sit in the pool area. My wife and I took up spots on the numerous sofas on the 4th floor deck. We were enjoying cocktails listening to the music and people watching. Then I was approached by a little tough guy who said, "you need to move", " you need to move now". I chuckle as write this! I let him know, I'm ... Read more

Best service, very courteous and helpful staff, and the very best view of downtown San Diego. And the hotel is in the heart of The Gaslamp Quarter, where you can easily walk to all the bars, restaurants, and the best nightclubs in San Diego.

No real complaints...clean rooms, cool decoration, staff exceptional, and very friendly. Great music everywhere, no boring elevator music here. I was expecting more, maybe a classic case of over hype and the delivery of average, can't quiet put my finger on it. Nobu restaurant was exceptional, on the edge cuisine. On the expensive side but well worth the splurge. Location is absolutely the best, close to everything. Breakfast was great, and a starbucks in the building. I wish I could have pa... Read more

Our company planned an event meeting for 100 people with Hard Rock Hotel San Diego on 5/24-27/2016 and we LOVE working with Hard Rock Hotel San Diego! First off, the group sales team: The assigned sales manager worked her best to accommodated our group's changing schedule. (We changed our date twice from the original contract, for 100 guests) The rooming coordinator promptly updates our rooming list whenever we demands the changes. 2nd, event and catering team: The event manager work closely ... This is my first review of Hard Rock in SD, but not my first stay.. I have been lucky to have had chance to stay here over a dozen times and have had a blast each time. The crew really knows how to take care of their guests and Robbie, Reggie, Elaine and crew were great in taking care of me during stay. I highly recommend this property!

The Hard Rock Hotel is the Best place to stay in San Diego! In the heart of the Gaslamp district. So close to everything! Walking distance to shopping, restaurants and bars. We had breakfast at Maryjane's, Happy Hour at Nobu and of course room service. We stayed in a Suite, it was so spacious and lovely! The staff was so friendly and accommodating! It was our first time staying there but definitely not the last! Already planning our next trip.

Was in town for a quick business trip. Room was nice but oddly designed with a sink separating the sitting and sleeping areas. Also exhaust fan in bathroom was noisy. Other than that a good place to stay.

Hotel theme was very nice. Room was clean and had all the amenities I could want. Price for food and drink was extremely high though which dropped my score. Our conference runs late so I had to order from the late night menu. Chicken fingers and fries cost me almost $30! This would have easily been a +4 but after a long day at the conference I had to go to Subway every night to save money.

The hotel is ideally situated in the gaslamp quarter. That without doubt is its best feature. It advertises itself as a party hotel and sadly a lot of the fixtures and fittings are showing signs of wear and tear. We had to move rooms twice. The last time in fairness they did upgrade us. Even the upgraded room had a number of problems. Attention to quality and detail was missing. The staff make all the right noises to be helpful but sadly do not deliver on their promises. After all as a hard ... Read more

Had such a great time!! Service was excellent hotel was amazing!! Loved the cool, sleek, sexy crowd that they attracted upscale all the way. If you prefer a more intimate, exclusive pool area with sleek table service this is the place! So excited to visit again !

The Hard Rock delivers on its promises. It's a very young fit crowd. You see their advertisements of their pool party and think it couldn't be that good. But it was. Unfortunately, and I suppose understandably, money talks. There are couches around the pool on which you can sit but if someone pays to sit on the one you are on then you have to go. This is crass and Vegas-ish.

Stayed at Hard Rock for conference. The room was not what I expected from Hard Rock. Pictures show a bar and counter, couch and lounge area in room, but I guess that is only for a single, I requested a double and it was a pretty plain room.

Hotel is nice and in good location with good staff. Would not stay again because of three key reasons: 1) no coffee maker in room 2) no bathrobes 3) noisy: every door slams into its locks so every time someone leaves in same corridor you will hear it

Didn't spend much time at the Hotel because of the MLB All Star festivities. Got there early for fan fest and they let us check in 3 hours prior and let us park that the hotel. We didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel but the staff I dealt with, valets, were outstanding. The one I remember is named Bentley. He is a fine young gentleman who took care of our luggage and our car like it was his own. He arranged for us to be able to keep our car there after we checked out and went to the All Star ... So we know it was trendy, but didn't have a true understanding of how loud this place can be. When you walk in, there is a DJ playing music in the main lounge. When you get to the elevator, half the time people were half naked going to the forth floor pool. No discretion, they don't promote it. They promote a party life style and that is what you have. Our mistake is that we came here during the weekend. Friday night we heard the door slamming and people in the corridor yelling from one si... Read more

Stayed here for a conference, I thought rate a little high for a confetence. Centrally located next to stadium and convention center. Pool small on my opinion. Pool bar nice with fire pits, relaxing at night. Rooms clean, I had king with shower, perfect for one. Overall nice stay.

Perfect location. Walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Nice hotel, pool, restaurant. Walking distance to seaport village. 2 miles to zoo and park. Clean rooms. Excellent service. Great pick for gas lamp district. I would probably pick a different area to stay with children but we were happy and had our 13 year old with us.

We were very pleasantly surprised by the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego! The rooms were very nice. The restaurants were fantastic. The staff including valet service could not have been sweeter or more accommodating. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will probably stay here again on my next visit to SD.

Simply put, this place is right in the middle of the gas lamp year everything you wanna do downtown. The staff is incredibly adept at anticipating and meeting needs. Hard Rock hotels typically work very hard to make things smooth and perfect, but this particular Hard Rock goes above and beyond.

The Conference Center is immaculate, well organized, and has great service. My room in the hotel was old, I had some burnt light bulbs, everything looked worn out, and my bathroom was not very clean. I expected better from a Hard Rock. However, it is in a premier location and within walking or trolley distance to several cool places to visit! Not kid friendly! Dirty pool and alcohol available in and out of your room.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego. The rooms were great, the staff was great, and the location was perfect. It is located within walking distance of some of the best restaurants and clubs in San Diego. I was there on a Business trip, but with everything so close, I was able to relax after day long meetings. It was also fun watching them transform the hotel for the upcoming Comic Con was awesome too. Thanks again!
