We stayed here for 5 nights after staying in a conference hotel down the street for business. I was a little skeptical at first due to construction on side and an apparent closed business on the other. Once we walked in the lobby those skepticisms vanished. The lobby was fresh, opened spaced and the staff was very friendly. I advise anyone to get a room in the back half of the hotel. Our first night was in 501 - great King room with sofa at the very front of the building; however, the traffic ... Read more

The room was a good size. I guess one good thing is that they do have a "if you are not satisfied you don't pay" policy. However, this makes me less likely to complain because I don't want to be made to feel that I want something for nothing - I don't, I want a hotel of the standard I paid for! When I said at reception the next morning that things weren't great the reaction was, well you didn't tell us during your stay! The bed was comfortable, but the room too hot since we couldn't use the air ... Read more

The hotel was easy to find, and looks lovely and new. The rooms were just like the pictures I'd seen online but unfortunately our view was to the construction site next door. There is a bit of noise from the freeway and the work site but most noise came from the air conditioner. We got used to it but surely there are quieter units available? Breakfast was great, although a little more cereal or hot choices would be nice but the waffles were good. The reception staff were great and very friendly... Read more

Upon our arrival at the Hampton Inn we were greeted by the front desk. We were given our room key to 334. We then proceeded to load our luggage on a luggage cart and go up to the room. Upon reaching the 3rd floor we located room 334. I swiped the key card on the door lock and it opened. To my surprise the room was OCCUPIED! I saw clothes on the floor and quickly exited the room with the door slamming behind me. I was afraid that the people in the room might come charging after us or have a... Read more

I stayed here for one night. The hotel was more like a Hilton than a Hampton. Everything was brand new and modern. The only drawback is there is no full service restaurant and the options around the hotel are very limited. Obviously Hamptons do not have a full service restaurant, so I was expecting this. I was surprised that a lot of Diamonds were staying here, as evidenced by the Diamond member parking spots being taken. This shows that this hotel is top quality.

We travelled to San Diego for vacation with family. This hotel is modern, clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We decided to stay at a hotel that was reasonably priced with free breakfast because we left early each morning to go do fun things and came back just to sleep. So, this was a GREAT choice for that. It is located just a few minutes from anything you probably will do...the airport, sea world, downtown, the zoo, etc.

Our family stayed here two nights in mid-June and overall, it was ok, however, the traffic noise was annoying. This relatively newer hotel sits atop a major highway, and although our room window was closed, you would never know it. The highway noise was loud and clear. It could have been our side of the building (which also happened to face a construction site next door) so you may want to request a room on the other side. Or maybe they just have bad windows/seals? Staff moved us to a room to avoid the construction of neighboring hotel. This was considerate, however the mattress was very lumpy and we could feel the coils which made for a few nights of tossing and turning. Everything was just right. No complaints. Friendly staff, good breakfast, clean rooms/lobby/etc. Coffee available 24/7! Clean, nice room and common areas. Location is perfect for easily getting to Balboa Park, La Jolla, Coronado Island, the beaches and Old Town. Even though there were tons of families (due to being close to Sea World and a softball tourney) it was pretty quiet. I was overlooking the pool on the 3rd floor and still was not loud! Solid, very ok hotel. On the plus side, the price seems much lower than downtown, while this is only 10 minutes from downtown. Being from the northeast, I was shocked that I could get downtown, as well as to the airport for only $9-10 on Uber. In other words, if you're saving $100+ per night on price plus parking vs downtown, and then you spend $10 on Uber, then this seems totally worth it for the budget minded. If you choose that, you'll get a "good" hotel and save some bucks in a good locat... Read more

The next day, we thought that the room will be cleaned and sheets will be finally replaced, but when we came back to the hotel after being out all day it is still the same dirty sheets. We switched our reservation from the Doubletree Hilton to the Hampton Inn at the last minute because it was a little less expensive and offered free breakfast buffet. I am SO glad we did. From the moment we checked it, it was a great experience. The nice young lady Michelle checked us in and asked what brought us to San Diego. We were on our 20th anniversary trip and told her this. She was so sweet and helpful. She comped our parking and told us things we might want to do and recommended h... Read more

It was a great stay. This hotel played a big part of my graduation weekend and made for a fun and eventful time. All of the staff were all pleasant from the moment I walked in the door until the day that I left. The complimentary breakfast was also great. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and will stay again.

Staff is very professional and friendly. We had no problems staying at the hotel for 6 days - very easy to get to the zoo, Old Town San Diego, downtown San Diego, the airport and Balboa park. Ample restaurants and shopping areas in the vicinity. We got the parking package and the hotel has a complimentary hot breakfast each morning which was very substantial and good. One thing to note at least for the short term future, there is a new hotel being built next to the Hampton in so when you arrive, ... Read more

Meh! What else can I say.. Was looking towards a relaxing stay but with construction next door starting at approximately 630am every day that did not happen. Between the grinding, drilling and trucks backing up all the time it made for early morning starts every day. Hotel itself was ok. Just ok. Stayed in room 439. View was of the construction site. After we complained the first night, expecting to maybe be relocated to the other side of the hotel, we were basically told the construc... Read more

The room we had was kinda set up weird. Hard to watch TV, and not much drawer space. The drawers are small. No Microwave. If you want a microwave make sure you request a room with a microwave. Parking is spendy 18.00 a day. Overall clean and friendly staff.

The Hampton Inn (Mission Valley) in San Diego was a great choice for our family weekend getaway. It was close to the freeway as well as the San Diego Zoo, parks, and other attractions. The rooms were clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good - not great, but acceptable.

One of the nicest Hampton Inns I've ever staying in. Very good and friendly staff. Rooms, common areas and breakfast way better than most. Only thing I missed was a room safe. Close to Old Town. Very solid choice.

Our stay here was excellent. This was our first travel trip since our son became a pilot and offered us discount flights. We chose this Hampton because it was relatively close to Old Towne, Gaslamp Quarter, the San Diego Zoo, and la Jolla / beach areas. Staff was so polite and helpful, facility was spotless and new, morning breakfast was excellent.

I had an excellent stay at this hotel! It was clean and the staff was very helpful. I was traveling with my 5 month old son and they had the pack and play delivered and assembled in my room very quickly. The breakfast is great too; many options to choose from, and they have good coffee!

We had a great stay. Oh only issue was the pillows. Not a fan of down pillows, other than that location is great and the rooms and bathrooms were clean. The free breakfast wasn't bad either. Would recommend.

Nice modern hotel that supplies the little things that you need. Free wifi, free breakfast. The staff are friendly and genuine, but at the same time professional. The only downfall is that they charge for parking, and there's no free parking around. (not close to residential)

There are so many hotels in the Hotel Circle area they all seem to blend together. This one, very new with extremely modern, chic design, is a stand-out. The lobby is super huge, the largest I've ever seen at a Hampton Inn. Great, typical breakfast, friendly staff, outdoor pool and spa. Only caveats is parking costs $18, although there is plenty of parking avaialble, and even with the charge the Hampton was still cheaper than most other hotels I looked at in the Circle. Also, there is a new... Read more

Every aspect of this Hampton Inn was incredible. All staff members were efficient and thorough while providing the best customer service we have ever experienced. The front desk staff (especially Veni) was phenomenal. Each day when we left the hotel, they told us to have a great day and upon our return, they always welcomed us back. That just does not happen in other places. Henry and the kitchen staff were extremely friendly and kind while ensuring that our breakfast experience was perfect.... Read more

The check in desk was very accommodating to my needs & even went as far as to personally track down a luggage cart. Most places just say it's in use & then leave me to my own demise to track one down. We requested a couple pack-n-plays brought to our room by the front desk. When they arrived, the staff member from the hotel offered to set them up if needed. We did not need the help but she wanted to make sure we had no issues or questions so she waited until we had them set up to leave our r... Read more

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who does not like the sound of folks in the room above walking noisily across the floor. In the five nights we stayed on the fourth floor, for 3 of them, those above us thumped, thumped, thumped across the wooden flooring. I asked to be moved to the top floor but there were no rooms available. Too bad this hotel does not have concrete flooring. Other than that, the hotel was fine. I will not stay there again and in fact, we moved down the street fo... Read more

It is a beautiful new hotel. Pool and hot tub with nice out door area with fire pit. room were well lay out. The lobby was very nice. 24hour coffee, tea. Nice breakfast. only one thing that bother me. They should not put fresh fruit with sour bitter grapefruit. It made the fruit bitter and sour. like the 4 small fresh waffles maker,Two for me and two for my husband. They had fresh can whip cream and sauce. There were two people refillng everything.

The rooms are nice and comfortable. Parking is provided in a garage attached to the hotel for a daily fee. Staff is very friendly and helpful and many of the downtown activities are very close with many withing walking distance. Enjoyed my stay here. Pricey but then many things in San Diego are. My room was about $250 per night.

Breakfast is alright, but ends very abruptly, so make sure you're there on time. Overall a decent place if you're staying 1-3 days, but if you're on a longer trip you have way better options.
