Ok the good ; staff are so lovely, helpful and obliging, well excpet for charging both or our cards for the same room and then we had to work through the bank to get the charges reversed. The bad ; there is no gym to speak of, the pool is tiny and in a walled off section that basically sits on the freeway. There is no outdoor space and no green space, there is no fountain out front. the location is awful; thee are heaps of homeless around and it is definitely in a rough few blocks. It is a good ... This is my favorite property to earn SPG points in San Diego - it's a converted Holiday Inn circa 1960's round hotel - very few left in the country. Always greeted with warm service and huge smile on check in - recently renovated with new bathrooms - very fun cosy bar off the lobby. Service here will keep me coming back.

The hotel is located next to the freeway. Obviously this makes for brilliant access but on the down turn makes the rooms overlooking the freeway very noisy. It is located a good 20 minutes walk from city centre, Galamp quarter, convention centre etc and at night it is not the best walk. Staff are very polite and helpful,l though not always efficient. The room was ok, clean enough with a huge tv, comfortable beds. The fan coil was so noisy that it kept waking me up at night. Breakfast was just ... Read more

I've always enjoyed being a tourist in my hometown - not sure if this was the best place to stay but I got a good deal. It's located in the back corner of Downtown not close to much. I was a but bummed when my good deal rate didn't include very expensive parking. I've traveled a lot of places but have only seen such high rates in San Francisco. Anyways - it may be standard for San Diego hotels downtown so no points off for that ;) Quiet room, overlooked Balboa Park area and could actually watch ... Read more

I am a San Diego local and I am begging you...If you are planning to visit our GORGEOUS city, please DO NOT STAY HERE! If I could give this hotel 0 stars it would be too many. The experience was SO HORRIBLE that the "Guest Experience Manager" agreed and said she would not charge the SPG points and waive the parking fee, in addition she would comp another night stay; in exchange I said I would not destroy this poor excuse of a hotel online. This morning, I see that she did not waive the parkin... Read more

Stayed at this hotel for 3 days, its in walking distance to the port, Gastown and many other places. The bar/ restaurant is a fun place to be, happy hour is always busy the food is good and plentiful. A short walk away is the Italian Quarter with lots of resturants. The rooms are large and comfortable. The pool is small but heated , we enjoyed our stay there. A great place for breakfast is the Broken Yolk in Gastown you will not be disappointed.

This hotel is next to a freeway, has a really dated look and the rooms are worn. The main thing differentiating this hotel from run of the mill motels is $32 a night parking charge! Overall, I and my family had a very average experience and we were glad that our stay was only for one night.

This is a nice hotel in appearance but our overall stay was unacceptable. The air conditioner did not work nor did the mini fridge. Further more, the staff were extremely rude. Especially the female at the front desk. Upon Check Out, The staff claimed that the room smelled like smoke and proceeded to march us back up to the room. I smelled no smoke and there was no evidence of cigarettes etc. They tried to charge our credit card $150.00 fee because of it. Which was more than the room and parking... Read more

Before I started this, I saw others bashing this hotel in other reviews. Nobody is perfect, so stop knocking. This hotel may not have fridge or microwave in room or not be shiny new, the staff goes out of their way to make your stay pleasant. Props to the management and staff for being on point. It started when I needed to ship my bike for a race. They jumped in saying sure we will hold it until you arrive. Then bike got delayed, and had a rental dropped off. They worked with me at every curve b... Read more

I spend a lot of time in different hotels all over the country, and this one is as expected for a Four Points. The room was clean and the air conditioner worked. We didn't have a rental car so didn't have to pay the $32/night parking, nor did we opt for paying for the hotel breakfast. I was a little nervous at first about the location and how much would be walkable, but that worked out fine. It's very close to Little Italy, which pretty much has all of your dining needs covered. We did walk... Read more

We arrived here as a second stop on our Southern California tour, the first being legoland. Wasn't very happy with the location, right on a freeway. It was hard to get in and out off around rush hour as their exit is right onto a freeway access road. The room was below average and was for sure in need of renovation. To get to the pool you had to go out the front door and across the driveway then through a key controlled gate. The in house restaurant had a limited selection however of the three m... Read more

Super well located. Close to Little Italy, near Freeway that gives you access to all San Diego 's major attractions. Rooms accommodate a family of four easily, ask for two queen beds during booking. Staff is very nice and professional. Valet works quickly.

When we first checked in, I was a little disappointed with our room on the 2nd floor with no view. But we literally just dumped our bags in the room and took off to go sight seeing. Later that evening when we got back to the hotel, we decided to stop by the bar for a drink before heading to our room. We got to chatting with the bartender Jens about where we should go to watch the fireworks. He was very friendly and even went so far as to get the "guest experience manager" to help us figure this ... Read more

I stay here every year and I have to say I love the location. Short walk to convention center and immediate Hwy 5 access. Love the free breakfast amenity option for Platinum members. A great location with an amazing staff. Free airport shuttle and all the amenities; gym, pool, lobby lounge, sundries shop, and computers with printer. Just steps from Little Italy down Cedar.

It was our first time visiting San Diego so we wanted to do a variety of things, attractions, beach, eat. The Four points San Diego downtown was the perfect spot to be located in. The hotel staff was great and made sure they would do everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. Family had a great time and we plan to come back very soon.
