The hotel is in a fantastic location, close to the station and downtown areas. The room we had was huge - bigger than some apartments! Room was very clean, and staff were diligent and helpful. Provisions in the room were minimal, and there was an initial confusion with internet access (for future reference, there *is* free access in the rooms!). The breakfast provided, and the free drinks at happy hour, are easily the best feature of the hotel however, making up for minimal provisions in the ro... Read more

I am a frequent guest at Embassy Suites hotels because of the omelette. Of the many that I have stayed at, this has the worst breakfast. Please up your game. Visit the Embassy Suites in Birmingham AL to see what an omelette is. That is the reason many of us book Embassy Suites. I give it 3 stars because the rooms are decent and the location is great. Don't drop the ball.

Having previously stayed here and knowing what to expect, my husband and I decided to come back for our 25th anniversary. They gave us a bottle of champagne, which I thought was very nice, and the staff was nice and accomodating all around. The whole place is a bit worn but if you can look past the need for a complete update the location and bayviews are fantastic and a bargain at the price. Our kids enjoy embassy suites hotels. This one was fine - made to order omlets for breakfast were a highlight, along with the location, across the street from the USS Midway and Seaport Village, short walks to Petco Park and the Gaslamp District. Unlike some other properties it was clear this one could use a little tlc - some of the furniture was usable but was also worn.

We arrived early and were graciously accommodated by Joanne from the Bronx at the front desk. We had a great room with a fantastic view of the Bay. The furnishings, decor, and ambiance of the room were upscale for an Embassy Suites. AC was quiet and cold, rooms were clean, carpeting was clean, bedding was clean and crisp. All you can ask for when looking for a family friendly hotel. This venue is very limited on the parking, loading and unloading space is very limited as well. Ballet parking is OK but was very expensive for $46.00 per day.

This is a typical Embassy hotel with all the usual niche (double rooms, free breakfasts and evening receptions ...). Several things I want to recommend: 1. Select a room with harbor view (with an upgrade). The view of the harbor is amazing! 2. This is an older Embassy property. The room furnishing are a little outdated. 3. Valet/overnight parking is $46/night. Street parking is free and not so hard to find, so drive around a few blocks can save you a lot of money. Meters only operate after 8am.

We enjoyed staying at this lovely hotel. It was located right by the harbor with loads of stores, restaurants and going on. The hotel was perfect. Great breakfast included and snacks and drinks in the early evening. The rooms were comfy and included 2 tvs, a microwave and a refrigerator. It made it easy to store drinks and snacks. I would certainly recommend it.

I called a few days before our arrival day requesting a nice room with a view and Bridget the manager was such a pleasure to speak with. She was able to block us in a wonderful room. Breakfast was delicious, and of course the free drinks and appetizer. We will definitely be back next year.

Sorry but $46 per night to park is just taking it to an extreme! The bed was very firm making for an uncomfortable night of sleep along with the noisy A/C. The included breakfast was very good but the managers reception was just cheap bottom shelf booze. Five people were stuck in the lift for over one hour until the fire department came and freed them. I have stayed here many times and almost every time one of the lifts have been broken making for long waits.

Hotel is nice; rooms are spacious and clean. Staff at Lobby friendly but service is rude and slow. Unfortunately I left some items in my room but House Keeping didn't find them. Valet Parking is $46/night, they dented my brand new car and washed their hands, Self Park is not available. I wouldn't stay again.

When I first arrived in my room, it was very disappointing and I couldn't stomach the smell. The idea of staying there for almost a week made me very depressed. I went back downstairs and complained, and they moved me to a better room, explaining that some of the rooms used to be smoking rooms, and they had done all they can to remove the smell, but in some places, it still lingers. First, being steps from Seaport and close to Gaslamp etc. is a huge bonus for this location. Last time we stayed at the Westin and prefer this location. That said, the building and rooms are, well.....tired. The furniture and finishings are outdated and worn, and the whole place just felt like it needed a full renovation. it was clean and comfortable, but just not the quality that we expected. We got a great deal on our room and quite frankly we got exactly what we paid for.

We were well pleased with the immaculate room, complimentary full breakfast, and cocktail hour which included appetizers. Also, the hotel is located in the heart of downtown, an easy walk from the historic gaslamp district. Parking is expensive ($46) but arrive early to take advantage of your time in San Diego. The staff was excellent and was able to provide us with early check-in, a lucky break for sure.

This is a great hotel if you want to be close to the water, and within walking distance of Petco Park. We had stayed here a few years ago, and liked it so much we chose to stay here again. However, we weren't as happy with the service this time. There was a bit of a wait to check in, a long wait to check out, and a really long wait to get the car from the valet. Also, the only option at this hotel is valet parking, and it is $46 per day, which seems a little pricey.

When you look at the Embassy Suites from the shore ?? it is dwarfed by the mega-hotels that make up the San Diego skyline. But don??t let its comparative size fool you ?? it is a large hotel (341 rooms) ?? and the 12 floor open atrium makes it feel really airy and spacious. But it is the staff and location that make the Embassy Suites really rise above the larger properties. We had a 5th floor suite (513) looking out to the Midway Museum and Bay. Rooms are getting a little worn, scuffed furniture, two water spots on the ceiling, rumbling fans in the bathroom, and hot water tap in bathroom leaking. You can hear quite a bit of traffic noise even this high. We had a terrible time getting our rooms made up by 5pm everyday, plus never enough towels or wash clothes. Have stayed a number of times over the past few years. Each stay was an improvement over the previous one. During last month's stay, we came in after 10PM and was greeted by no one at the check-in desk. Fortunately, we were able to bypass the desk with our digital key, which worked wonderfully with my Android phone. There was also nothing in the room welcoming us and it was almost impossible to find the breakfast hours in anything left in the room. This time, there was a Dunkin' Donut, two bottl... Read more

This hotel is within walking distance of down town San Diego's Gaslamp District and the beautiful bay. There are plenty of activities and many places to eat. The price of the hotel suite is reasonable, and while you have to pay for parking everything is within walking distance, so well worth it. The complementary breakfast is very good and the complementary cocktail hour is very relaxing. Staff were excellent and suite was clean with great views.
