We recently stayed here on a business / fun trip. It is conveniently located across from a trolley pick up, which we used frequently while in town. We arrived early and the staff allowed us to check into our room before noon! And you get a free cookie! The rooms are cozy and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The hotel was almost full, but the hallways were nice and quiet. While the Wi-Fi is only free if you sign up for a rewards account. The conference area is very functional and ... Read more

Had a great stay a the doubletree. Had a very late arrival, and the staff at the desk gave me a freshly baked cookie, that was the best cookie I've had in a long time, and at 2:00am it was the best food available. Staff was great, room was great, and I highly recommend the doubletree next time your in San Diego, running late, and need a 6:00am walkup call!

Was at Double Tree for a Conference. Came in a couple of days early to visit friends. First day there was a Sunday and was disappointed that there was only 1 of 3 elevators working. The next morning was better, had a second one functioning , but for over 650 in the conference plus other guests, I executed better planning. Also didn't expect that there was no mini fridge. I didn't like the flimsy pillows. But, the service from the front registration to the room staff were very friendly and nice. ... Read more

The Doubletree in San Diego is not a bad place to stay with the exception of not having a refrigerator or microwave in the room and having to pay $20 per night to park. All other services are fantastic and the staff is very pleasant.

Good hotel, convenient location. Staff is attentive. Bar service is slow especially if you order food. Restaurant service was excellent. Get a low floor and plan on walking the stairs a lot as they are VERY slow and one or the three is always out of service. They are also using new technology that is awkward and doesn't seem to help at all.

It's located on "hotel row" so there isn't much nearby (aside from a huge mall) but every place you might want to go to is about 10-15 mins away by car. Overall, the hospitality was good, especially on arrival and departure. But when reserving a room (especially during the summer) be sure to request a room AWAY from the elevator. Noisy, bratty kids running around the hallways with their parents totally oblivious to the fact that people are trying to sleep or rest. Also, try to request a room away from the street side where the trolleys make noise all night.

I was in San Diego to visit colleges with my daughter. When we checked in I learned that because I did not book on the hotel website I would not earn points for stay. I have been a Hilton Honors member since 2009 and this was the first I have hear of this policy. The very rude person at the desk who checked me in shrugged his shoulders like "oh well" and rolled his eyes. I have to say over most of the stay the staff at the desk had an "I don't care" attitude. The next challenge was that t... Read more

Typical DoubleTree by Hilton property: very nice staff, great accommodations. I wouldn't go out of the way for this place necessarily, but I would certainly stay there again if visiting the area! The conference area was very nice and well equipped and met all the needs of the convention I was there for.

I had made a late reservation and noted that I would be checking in late . Also that I had a biz meeting I early am and if upgrade to the bigger suite would be great since had 4 people attending and presentation easiest from my room with things set up already . I booked the highest level studio suite, next being pres suite . Upon my arrival I was NEVER greeted as a Diamond nor acknowledgement of my request that I sent to hotel and called in advance about regarding upgrade . I was given a stud... Read more

This is a great hotel to stay in the San Diego area. Close to downtown, Mission Bay, and most attractions. I think it's great for families. Good restaurant, and very friendly staff. Rooms are very clean, and always great staff.

I love Hilton DoubleTree but this location was off mark for us. I wanted to rate it lower but I feel bad for the staff because they were nice. They couldn't fully accommodate us, but they did their best based on policy. Quality and price did not match up!!

The great experience with this property started before we arrived. I received a text from DANIEL in guest relations at the Doubletree asking if we needed anything. I asked if we could get a room for early arrival and he arranged it. He followed up with us via text throughout our stay. He even sent Housekeeping to clean our room when we texted him. Great service from Daniel. Thank you DANIEL. When we arrived at the Hotel we were greeted by Kirk, he was very courteous, and made us feel welc... Read more

Stayed here for one night during Labor Day weekend. it was last day of family vacation and we had to leave early next morning at 5 am. starting from 10 pm, next door guests were making loud noise, drinking and all until 1:30 am. made numerous complaints, but didn't help. instead, i was told the room next door is presidential suite. i didn't understand what it meant in the beginning. does it mean whoever stay there can throw loud party for hours? I was told security staffs were sent many ti... Read more

For those of you who have read my previous reviews, you know I shoot straight from the hip: no nonsense ?? just the facts. I recently took a trip to California and had a wonderful experience! I will write several detailed reviews to share information. The DoubleTree by Hilton San Diego - Mission Valley: 7450 Hazard Center Drive, San Diego, CA 92108 is a lovely property. There is a $20 a day self-parking attached to the hotel and the Concierge has a podium right at the entrance and each one w... Read more

I have stayed here many times and have had a great experience each time. The hotel is in an awesome location, it's only a few miles from the Embarcadero, Coronado, Fashion Valley, and Sea World. The rooms have been redone and have always been clean. And the selling factor of this hotel is the heated 24 hr pool and jacuzzi. Enough said:)

I was really impressed with this hotel. I've stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels, and this hotel was right up there with them. The hotel was clean and actually really nice looking. The rooms are large and clean and nicely decorated. The only real compliant I have was the parking. The parking garage was really small. It was hard to find a place to part without worrying about getting your car dinged up. Other than that everything was great. The hotel staff was also very friendly and helpful. We'll be ba... Staff is really super. We are treated with a smile and helped with information and directions. Our room was really comfortable. We forgot our laptop. Fearing the worst we called and it had been turned in by the maid. Whew. Oh...the warm chocolate chip cookies were yummy. They even gave us two for the road.

I stayed here for three days recently to visit my daughter going to college. Accommodations were very nice, room was spacious. Like location next to shopping center for places to eat and shop; also its location next to the trolley stop is very convenient for getting around town.

The room was beautiful, we weren't crazy about the sliding doors in the balcony room: the design is outright stupid. Opening it is hard and closing it is nearly impossible. It looks and feels like you. Real the damn thing lol. Room service took over an hour after they told us it would be "20 mins", then they didn't answer when we called them back. After the second call, they said they were just busy. When they arrived with our food, some items were missing and we were still charged for everythi... Read more
