This is my second stay here at The Doubletree Hotel Circle in San Diego, and this is the second time I am rating this hotel with 5 stars! From check-in to check-out this facility will have you believe you are at a 5 Diamond Resort! Here are some details why you should book here! 1). It's clean. And I don't mean that standard hotel clean, I mean that type of clean you feel you accomplished once you have finished Spring Cleaning at your house! There is no doubt in my mind that the housekeep... Read more

I checked in for an overnight stay with my best friend. We were in the area for a quick getaway and chose this hotel based on their location and rates (ok maybe for their cookies, too...yumm). We were greeted by the Front Office Supervisor, Chris Moreau, upon arrival and he was so friendly and helpful! We were unfamiliar with the area and Chris took the time to show us places on a map, provided vouchers, suggested some bars/clubs, etc. He was happy to answer all of our questions. My best friend ... I was actually overflown from another hotel into this one due to some plumbing issue at the hotel I had reservation on. It was one of the chilly days in San Diego and the room heating didn't work after I checked in. They immediately sent an extremely friendly maintenance guy who fixed the issue in no time. Cookies were provided at check-in, which was very nice. I can't say too much about the facility since I only stayed one night but overall it was a standard stay.

The hotel is older but has the Double tree amenities . You can tell most of the money is upgrading the lobby vs the room area. Carpets were tattered as were the bathrooms. Parking was $22 a night (which is average) Housekeeping "Forgot" our room cleaning. (No we did not have the DND sign up) For $200 a night just expected a nicer set up. There is a newer Double tree on hotel circle that we will stay at next time.

Transients in the parking garage going through thr garbage. The last thing we want to see while on vacation. Parking garage distant to entry. The rear entry has no sliding doors that open when your hands are full from your luggages.

Nice hotel located close to airport and beaches. The room was clean and staff was attentive to guests. The Courtyard was typical of mid range hotels on the Hotel Circle. Not easy to get in and out due to traffic patterns.

The hotel was in a great location and seemed to have been renovated recently. The shared space and guest rooms were all lovely and very clean. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom amenities were a quality everyone expects - great! Plus, the fitness room was nice even though it was small. I truly love staying at DoubleTree properties and would certainly recommend this one.

Staff were WONDERFUL, but this particular Doubletree gives the Hilton brand a very bad name - expected more from the quality of the room furnishings, especially the beds. We've stayed at many hotels and this one had, by far the the worst mattresses we've ever encountered. Even had them switch out the mattress and the new one was only marginally better. I feel as for the hardworking staff there, Cota, in particular, was such a wonderful housekeeper as well as the desk staff. Despite the great ... Read more

I am a Hilton Silver member and I stayed here for 4 nights in late June. Upon arriving with family, we had to wait for the luggage trolley so we could take our luggage to the room. This hotel was a last minute selection due its proximity to the freeway and the hotel circle area. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room itself seemed a bit dated in terms of furniture and the layout was a poor design. Also, we were woken up the following morning by a discussion that other hotel guests were having in the room next door. Maybe get rid of the adjoining doors on insulate better between rooms.

Double tree has the makings of a great place to stay: comfortable beds, small fridges, spacious rooms, nice pool. However, little things make a difference. While fresh, hot scrumptious cookies are a nice touch when you get there, people like to have a cup of coffee early in the morning outside their room if other people in the room are sleeping. The whole staff from check in to housekeeping where very respectful and nice. My wife and I where a lil lost because we don't go out to often, having 5 kids. It was a great experience and we will definitely visit again.

The hotel was nice, however we had a lot of issues: I am a Hilton Diamond member, travel frequently and have never been so frustrated with the service at a hotel. + The pool was closed during our stay + We had to change rooms due to upgrade availability. The 2nd room smelled like fish. + I booked 2 rooms and traveled with my family. My SIL checked in with her personal credit card for 1 room and I paid for the other. The hotel changed my credit card twice. I have spent hours on the phone wi... Read more

We were in San Diego for an event and stayed at this hotel. We got the family suite which included a bunkbed in separate room. This was very convenient and kids enjoyed their own space. The hotel is situated close to Fashion Valley Mall, Qualcomm Stadium, Liberty Station, Sea World and the airport. The amenities was okay. The pool was small (specially for families), the gym was sparse and lobby area lacked charm.

Disappointed with customer service and parking. That was the first time in San Diego and was not happy with the overall experience I had at your hotel. How can you charge for parking when your elevators don't work and you don't even give us notice that they are not working, when we were there for a wedding dressed up the whole time we where there and had take stairs the whole time bc no one ever gave a notice bc if they did my husband wouldn't have had me walk up and down the stairs the whole ti... We dropped my daughter to College in San Diego and were in the area for about two weeks and stayed at a couple of properties; from low end (Day's Inn to Hilton Brands). This hotel was right in the middle and offered a better facility with higher quality beds, rooms, amenities etc. $28/day for parking was not one of the features.

The room was not bad but there was so many extra charges that popped up in my account that I didn't do and or the staff didn't tell us about. For the 2 nights we stayed there in San Diego they charged us just about $765 which is definitely not worth that much

I would like to personally compliment their point person in the banquet staff Kendoll went above and beyond our expectations. Thank you all hotel staff. Jim

We stayed here a few nights, the facilities we amazing. The highlight for us was the welcome cookie we received at checkin, after a few hours driving these were welcomed. The restaurant cooks are amazing and the food is delicious, try out their breakfast granola simply delicious. We stayed in three different Hilton hotel brands this was by far the best one.

My stay at the DoubleTree was clean, modern and beautiful. I recommend this hotel because it is close to all the San Diego attractions and Mission Beach. I like that the Hotel is smoke free and close to other nice hotels with walking distance to convenient stores and shopping plazas.

My fiancé and I stayed here for one night this past weekend. We decided to take a day-cation close to Hillcrest. The location of this hotel was great for that. But, that was about all it was great for. The room was fairly overpriced for what was received in return ($145), especially having to pay an additional $22 for parking, and another fee for wifi. We stayed in a sunset view room with a patio. The sunset view was really the parking lot, with a view of the sun. The patio was incredibly small... Read more

The restaurant quality consisted of poor food. There was cold food from room service and very limited breakfast options for fruit. In addition the location is too far away from any amenities such as restaurants, theatres and shopping of any kind unless you have transportation.

The online pictures created a much nicer version of this hotel. It was a bit run down and the elevators were scary. The parking structure seemed like an afterthought. If we had driven our truck it there wouldn't have been anywhere to park it because of the height restriction on the structure. This was a family trip and there were people smoking pot on their balcony which was on the main walkway to the lobby! On a positive note the restaurant food was decent and the rooms were clean.

This hotel does not live up to the quality of Hilton Hotels. It is in desperate need of updating. The plumbing was terrible and we were charged for parking when there was no reason for paying for parking. There is a garage but not security arms or personal to patrol.

Beautiful view from the balcony. Loved the separation wall between the bedroom and siting area. Very quiet. Breakfast was very good. The breakfast items were fresh and clearly the cook knew how to cook the scrambled eggs.
