We recently stayed 2 nights. Rooms were huge and clean. Breakfast was included in the price, but this was a shambles, way too small an area to accommodate all the guests !! We ended up taking something back to our rooms on the first morning and eating out the next morning. Its a reasonably short cab ride to to SeaWorld and Old Town. We also choose this Hotel as we caught Amtrac train from LA and closest stop was Old Town. There was laundry so you could do your washing. We got reception to order... Read more

We checked in amid a clamor of out-of-control children being ignored by their self indulgent parents. Not the hotel's fault, however the ensuing noise and commotion by the pool area (provided by only six leather-lunged children) continued well into the night and was not controlled by the hotel staff. Check in was efficient and friendly, the room was clean (kind of a goofy set up with the sink in the bedroom space and nothing in the bath area). There were several drops of red on one of my pill... The room, staff and breakfast were satisfactory. There was nothing exceptional about the stay. At the same time there was nothing wrong. The room & the furniture look better online than in person. However the room was clean and the beds were relatively comfortable.

We stayed here for two nights and we were pleased with most everything. We booked a one bedroom suite with two double beds and a sleeper sofa. Check in was a breeze and the front desk staff were very friendly. The rooms were clean and roomy. The bathroom was clean and updated. A nice breakfast was provided on the 4th floor every morning. It's very close to the interstate so traveling was easy. The Cons: air conditioner did not put out cool air. (We ended up buying a fan at Walmart and sle... Read more

This hotel is located in Hotel Circle North in San Diego. You are very close to Old Town, Valley View Casino Center, Sea World and not too far from the San Diego Zoo. The building is huge and older. Interior entry to the room and two external elevators had room key operation so safety was good. There is a daily charge for parking (get online rate to save a few dollars). We stayed through the Memorial Day weekend and even coming back late we were able to find a spot to park. Breakfast was lo... Read more

The only things keeping me from giving this a 5/5 are the freeway noise and paying to park on site. Otherwise this place is great for families that are vacationing in SD! Rooms nice, everything clean, nice outdoor pool/hot tub, very friendly staff. Some people on here complain that the breakfast area gets crowded, which is true, but get over it. Get there before 7 and you'll be fine. Awesome breakfast! Definitely staying here if/when we come back to the SD area!

The location to the airport was great, 10 min cab ride. There is a shuttle bus right outside the airport to take you to a rental car plaza, The pool was good, kinda on the small side, there are no rooms with balconies or terraces. The rooms are updated, but not very clean. The breakfast room was in need of a good cleaning, the ceiling vents were covered in a gross film of dust and debris. The hotel only has 1 resturant within walking distance and is quite expensive, otherwise it is a 5 min is... Read more

For the price it is okay. I really appreciated the separate room with bunk beds and tv for the kids. The curtains on the doors that separate had curtains that you could see through though, and so the older kids still had to change in the bathroom. The furniture in our room was newer and comfortable. My biggest problem was the set up of the room. The bathroom sink and kitchenette in the same area and such little sink room for our things. I know other reviewers have mentioned traffic noise, which ... Read more

Nice hotel in San Diego. The sofa bed in my room was horrible. I heard a friend of mine say hers was comfortable. The room was clean and the cleaning staff so kind. Breakfast generous. People kept propping the pool gate open at night to let non-hotel friends come in and swim and use Jacuzzi pool. When I tried to close it some "airforce" guy said his grandma and grandpa are staying there...like really????

In an area a few miles from Sea World, nice sized rooms with two doubles and another adjacent room that could be used for kids etc. $14.00 more for parking per day. Elevator is kind of a scary ride. Never sure if you're going to get where you are going.

We were looking for a hotel reasonably priced and near SeaWorld. This hotel fit the bill. You can get to SeaWorld in about 15 minutes, depending on the traffic. It's a short drive on the freeway. We had a room facing east. It had some freeway noise, but the air conditioner masked most of it. FYI the south facing rooms face the freeway and the north facing rooms in the main building face the pool. Given what we saw, I'd rather face the freeway. Our room, two queen beds with a sofa bed, was smal... Read more

This hotel was ok at best. They did have a good breakfast but good luck finding a place to sit with your family. Housekeeping didn't replace half the stuff in our room daily if they even came at all. And if you needed to do laundry only one washer and dryer worked and not very well!

Terrible for the price. Never been to San Diego so I had only reviews to base my booking off of. Thought, for the price, upgrading to the King with bunk beds would be the best option for my family of 4. Son 14 & daughter 10 would kind of have their own space. That is true. They each had their own beds & they had a kid TV at night & adults had a separate TV. Great! Beds were kind of uncomfortable, but what hotel bed satisfies all? No serious complaints about the actual room. Clean. Then you lea... Read more

Great location, with plenty of parking available (at a small price). Room was pleasant and very clean. The two queen-sized beds were extremely comfortable, and the sofa-bed slightly less so but still above average. Our room was slightly cramped with 6 girls and lots of suitcases, but was much more spacious than expected. The lobby theming was very attractive, and the reception staff extremely friendly and helpful. The pool was small, but clean and well-maintained. It was open and well-lit until ... Read more

I travel often on the road and prefer Comfort Inn & Suites. This time, and only ever this time, I was disappointed. Here's my take on it: Pro: Staff members were warm and sweet. They went out of their way at every turn. Excellent room service. Quiet even when full. The pool is small but nice - Always towels there. Cons: Dirty and smelly. ??. Need I say more? Only one very (small working elevator). The 4th floor (top floor) is where the breakfast is located and most of that floor reeks... Read more

Our family came for our grandson's graduation from Marine Boot Camp. The staff, esp. the front desk employees, were great. We had many questions and some luggage problems and all was taken care of by pleasant, caring employees. The staff in the breakfast room kept everything full and clean. It was a very busy place. The breakfast selection was good. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.

Even if the hotel was fully booked, the staff were excellent and friendly. A special mention to Sixto who worked his magic to fix a booking mistake I had made. The breakfast is a great treat but can be very crowded. The rooms are very comfortable but it can get a little noisy. It would be better if there was better sound proofing as the noise from the hallways and the room above our room can be heard.

Rooms ok, No real complaints. But if you stay for the breakfast. That's another story. Very, very crowded. People packed into small area. Six people trying to eat at a table for 2. Food was running out in short time. So you were spent a lot of time looking for the cream for coffee or silver ware. There was only one door and the amount of people in the room. 3 Adults and 3 children stayed for 2 days and 2 nights in July of 2016. We rented two adjoining rooms that had king size and bunk beds in each room. The beds were clean and rooms were clean. But the hotel is a bit run down. The rooms for 4 adults and 1 child was decent size with the sofa bed. The area was okay. Close to most of the area attractions. The a/c was not the greatest being noisy. The wi-fi was very bad having slow connections. The thing that I didn't like the most was that they charge for parking. I felt that was a total rip-off. There were plenty of hotels in the area to choose from. If I visit here again, I would definitely consider a different place!

I needed one more room for one more night during a trip to San Diego for my grandson's Marine Corps boot camp graduation. I got a room for him and his wife for the night of his graduation. I went to the Comfort Inn to get the key and to check out the room. The hallways were not clean and needed paint very badly. The room was OK but also in need of cleaning and updating. First I will tell you if you can get onto the 4th floor then you will be doing great for breakfast, but horrible long lines for the elevator! Breakfast believe it or not is on the 4th floor and the room size is kinda of small for all those people trying to eat; however, if you are staying on the 4th floor you will be able to just carry your breakfast back to your room. The front desk staff was friendly but that is just about the only positive thing that I can say about this place. It's pretty dirty and saw a roach in the 4th floor hallway. The hot tub wasn't functioning. The pool only had lights that worked on one side. The laundry room only had 1 working washer and dryer so it was constantly in use. Traveling with a family of 6, its difficult to find good places to stay. We stayed in a suite with two double beds and a sofa bed. This worked great for our family and it was nice that the sofa bed could be completely blocked off from the other beds. Staff was friendly, kids enjoyed the pool. Seemed a bit pricey, but we stayed while comic-con was going on, so ymmv. Breakfast was busy but good. Can't beat the location. Quick access to the freeway, the Zoo, the Beach, and Sea World.

Overall, the rooms that are divided up with one king bed and one bunk bed in another area was very good for our family. Breakfast is comparable to other hotels, so it was good. But the breakfast area is very small and crowded all the time. You had to snatch up a table fast and then hunt someone down to clean it off. The overall feel of the hotel is just old.
