"Free breakfast ends at 9am, so we didn't even get down to see it. IHOP next door was great. Power went out twice while we were there - they said because everyone was turning their heaters on at the same time, which I understand but was still unpleasant. The room was tiny. The $100 charge to my card as a 'just in case we break or steal something' was not a nice surprise. Why would I want to steal a small scratchy bath towel anyway? We got what we paid for - next time we will pay more somewhere else and be just fine with it."

"Great location. Lots of places to eat near by. Awesome parking, very convenient. Rooms are quite acceptable, the bathrooms are actually nice and neat. The cleaning ladies are nice and helpful, service is great. The price for value is excellent, better than most places I've stayed at. It doesnt feel like a cheap hotel. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. There's a microwave and fridge that are actually decent. I'd advice people to stay here if they are trying to save. I would to there again."

"Stayed her at the weekend with my husband and son, great location, 10 mins from Ocean beach. Room was really clean, nicely decorated (spotless) The bedding was really nice, big pillows and comfortable beds. the guy on front desk was great, he came to the room to help us get internet, he loaned me scissors and printed off our boarding passes for our return flights.
He spotted us in the hot tub after breakfast and came and turned the heat up, he really went the extra mile.
He printed off a sheet giving us directions around town via buses.
We had a fab time in Ocean Beach, the breakfast was totally fine, they had a little toaster which we warmed the pastries, coffee was nice, no complaints from us. A great place to stay in my opinion. For the money you can't go wrong. Great value. Were already talking about doing another trip, and will stay at this hotel for sure. :0)"

"The girl working at front desk keeps repeating herself and I don't know if she thinks we're morons or she's just like that. The carpet seems dirty in our room and although I took my shoes off, I left my socks on. Well anyway, I guess we get what we paid for. It was the most cost effective. Anyway they have free coffee and some sweets for breakfast."

"The pictures on the web site are misleading - my room did not look like that. The blanket on the bed has seen better days - has the beginning of holes. The breakfast was a dry sweet roll, coffee and orange juice - if you didn't like those 2 beverages you had nothing to drink. We went elsewhere for breakfast. The room we were in has not been updated in years. Looked dirty. The location is fantastic with stores, fast food down the street. I also didn't like the $100.00 deposit that was added to my credit card upon check-in - will need to make sure that it was removed as stated. I will not be staying here again."

"We stayed and have no complaints. The rooms are small, so if you have kids it will be crowded. The motel is in a great older area, It is the perfect location to get any where in SD and avoid the freeways. The young lady at front desk was very nice and loaned us something we forgot; I think it was her own personal one. She gave us a discount card for the restaurant down the street, and they made a great pizza. There are grocery stores and shops that are not tourist driven. And yes there is a gentlemen's Club across the street. It is discrete and upscale on the outside. The room was plenty clean, and I think they really care. We went to breakfast early and were disappointed. We went back later and it was better presented."

"Hotel was simple and plain. No frills. It was clean and quiet. Didn't really hear planes flying over at night or neighbors.
Not in the most secure neighborhood but we felt safe at the hotel. Late check in was no problem.
Breakfast did not hold our interest - so we had breakfast at Sea World. Coffee was hot but not very good. Of course, I'm a bit of a coffee snob so my review of the coffee may leave people scratching their heads wondering what I was talking about.

"Really bad hotel... The staff is not friendly at all, they're not smiling and look at you as you are the one who will ruine their day.
The free breakfast is a real joke!! Two bad mini muffins and 2 chocolate croissants, coffee and that's it!! The orange juice machine was broken and no toaster, no butter, no cream cheese: Nothing!! And they say it worths 12$!
Really, if you can, add 50$ more in your hotel room and avoid this one."

"Mixed feelings about this hotel
First night I was ready to leave.
Reserved a crib almost 6 months in advance. Arrived was told they only had one and it was in use. The other one was broken. So my 16 month old slept with us. Not fun!! Ended up buying a pack n play.
The beds were horrible. Very firm.
Our room smelled like mildew, my mom in the room next to us and her room was fine in that aspect.
Our door slammed shut really hard and was really hard for an adult to even open or keep from slamming shut. My son who is 10 struggled with it.
Pool was ok. Little but fairly clean. Hot tub was nice the one time we used it.
Covered parking nice if you have a car but if you have a bigger vehicle parking in the lot is tight.
If you wear make up (we were attending a wedding) good luck the lighting in the bathroom vanity area is lit by one small light. Bathroom is about as small as it gets.
No on site laundry. With two small kids I had to make a trip to the laundry mat that is very close.
Fridge is unplugged when you get there (understandable) but annoying. The maids shut of the ac every time they enter your room quite annoying when you return have a short time to change and get ready in a hot room.
Was disappointed in San Diego there are more adult dancing clubs then I have seen in any where I have traveled having one across the street was not pleasant

"Disgusting!! We pre-paid for 2 nights at this hotel. We were so terrified, and disgusted, we checked out immediately!!! Didn't even spend 1 night there. The beds were disgusting, there were roaches, it was super dirty, cramped, and there was a guy who was taking pictures of our vehicle while we were in the room... I would really like my money back!! "The Hotel is old and the rooms really hot and the AC noisy and the club for mens just cross the street not good when you have kids and family at the hotel..... it is not that close to seaworld and a lot traffic driving to seaworld and homeless people around the hotel. "The receptionist in the evening when we arrived was very nice. After that the problems began. There was supposed to be free parking and a free breakfast with a value of $26. The parking was free. The breakfast consisted of sweet rolls and juice and watered down coffee. There werre many unhappy customers and a rude morning manager. We ended up having to take those with us to breakfast. Our tv also did not work. It kept shutting off while we were watching it and it was fuzzy. "

"The room was clean! We stayed 4 nights and had no issues what so ever. Close to Sea World and Old Town. Easy access to 8 & 5. The continental breakfast was a little weak but there's an IHOP right next door and 'Broken Yolk' just down the street. It's not the newest looking but very very reasonable and sufficient!"

"This was a nice place to stay that is centrally located. I appreciated the fact that they had a microwave and an in-room refrigerator. My only reason for giving it a 4 star rating in some categories was the mildew/mold that was prevalent on the ceiling in the bathroom and I found the mattress to be too firm as I am used to a pillow top mattress."

"This hotel was a complete disappointment. The rooms were dirty and the towels and bed sheets smelled like if someone forgot to add soap, Downey and bleach to the wash. The carpet had numerous stains and my white socks were the black from the bottom after walking around the room for a short period. The sheet on one of the beds had a huge hole, the old tube tv kept turning off by itself, and it was very loud outside with planes flying over every 20 minutes. The area was NOT safe due to sketchy characters mingling outside, oh did I forget to mention it's located right in front of a strip club??? Nuff said. Don't make the same mistake we made by staying in this hotel."

"We choose this hotel based on many things, however we didn't know that it was across the street from a strip club. The place seemed very sketchy, the whole time we were there which was a lot because we had bad weather, it didn't seem like a very safe or secure place. During one of our 3 night stay people were talking outside our door and the staff didn't do anything about it, however the staff was friendly. The room itself had had patches of wall paper that looked like it had been cut out and then just put right back in the same place where you could clearly see where it had been removed. The socks to plug in lights didnt cove the whole circle of a hole there was, the blow drier was jim riged to the light socket. I thought, plugging in my own stuff was going to catch the place on fire. Anytime someone in another room was flushing the toilet or showering it was as if they were doing it in your room. We had our daughter with us and so I brought bed sheets just incase and I'm glad I did. The bath towels weren't very soft, but when we asked for more we got more. The hot water took awhile to get hot, it was a warmish feel and with bad weather I wanted a hot shower. Overall, our experience was not the most pleasant. We would never stay her again or recommend this motel to anyone else. We weren't under the impression that this was a motel, and in dire need of updates/remodeling."

"Wow...this hotel was not as was pictured or reviewed by earlier guests. Huge disappointment and if I could have got a refund we would have relocated to another hotel. The bed linens were not changed once in the 6 nights we stayed. Housekeeping did not get to our room till 4:00 every day. The bath towels were paper thin and the size of a hand towel in a normal 3* hotel. It took 15 minutes of running the taps on full hot to start to get tepid water running out of the taps. The rooms are tiny and mattresses old and uncomfortable. The front desk clerk on days is the rudest woman I've ever met. The free breakfast is a complete joke. They serve several days old muffins, juice and coffee with only packets of whitener. No milk, fruit, cream or fresh muffins. The pool is not heated, even though the hotel claims it is and the hot tub is so green you can't see the base."

"This was not what we were expecting at all. The hotel is sketchy to say the least. Its located next to an IHOP, across the street from a gentleman's club. The room was very small, the plugs for where the lights or you plug something in didn't cover the big whole someone cut in the wall thought plugging my blow dryer in would catch the place on fire. The towels weren't very soft, we brought other sheets just in case to use on the bed, took awhile for the water in the shower to get warm. We were very disappointed with our stay here and wouldn't say again. Not sure how they are 'suites' its a motel that didn't seem safe in the least. Heard people outside all night and they didn't say anything to the people after many people called to complain. Not recommended for anyone especially with children."

"The look and feel of this two star hotel/motel was exactly what I expected with the exception of the mediocre breakfast. Room was clean, staff was friendly and helpful and the microwave and fridge came in quite handy. We enjoyed the hot tub which was kept at a pleasant temperature. The pool, however, was unheated so of little use in February. Free parking was a big selling point. Kids had a ball. We'd definitely stay there again but would pack cereal and milk, etc."

"The stay was not good.. I needed to work from my laptop.. The hotel advertised free wifi, but it was not working.. I went to the desk for a solution and nobody could help me... I was very dissappointed....."

"DO NOT stay at this hotel, horrible people and pathetic breakfast. had to go to Ihop to get our breakfast. the Continental breakfast they offer was all out along with the orange juice and there passion juice. i argued with the staff on many different occasions. Never Again will i stay there."

"After booking this place closer to my stay date I started to see some bad reviews. I grew concerned. First I would just like to say never once during my stay did I feel like I was unsafe. The place has cameras for security. Yes there are clubs around and people walking but not in the hotel area. Second if your looking for breakfast and a muffin and coffee doesnt work for you then this breakfast isnt going to make you happy.. however the pool is clean the hot tub is great. The beds were comfy the rooms were clean and its very close to a place names Kristys Bar and grill which was a great place to eat every meal. You can play pool darts etc and its safe and affordable. I will be back to this place not because it was the best of the best but because the price is right the service was great and the rooms were comfy. Bring house shoes."

"Its a motel therefore you cannot expect much. The rooms were under 50 dollars and considering the location, you cannot beat this price. It may feel a bit sketchy, but it is a safe place to rest and watch some television after spending the day in downtown SD. Rooms are very small, and you may find stray black hairs on all your towels. But that aside this motel is a steal. Don't expect anything from the Continental breakfast as it is a complete joke. Literally 6 pastries and some juice. Wouldn't be that expensive to put out some cereal and milk, or toast and jelly but they didn't even do that. Then again what do you want for such a cheap rate."

"Customer Service was excellent, gave us answers on how to get around, and gave us a map of the area and offered suggestions on good places to eat and shop. We got discount from them for Sea World. It was in a good location to see everything. Not a fancy place, but we thought it was a good value and would stay there again. "
