I had room 327, not the greatest view, it overlooked the roof, but I was not in my room at all during the day. I was there for a work conference and the accommodations were excellent, as was the food for the catered breakfast and lunch. The location is great, right off the highway, next to the new basketball stadium (under construction at the time of this writing), and close to many great places to eat dinner. It's also close to old town, which was a great stroll through time. Do not be afraid... Read more

I attended a conference at the hotel, and stayed for two nights. I had local family join me for dinner at the on-site restaurant, and ordered room service. Overall, I thought everything ran smoothly, and the place was well-maintained and clean. The staff were all very competent and friendly, from the outdoor parking people to the maids and wait staff, to the people staffing the front desk. The parking is a wee bit unusual but works just fine, and the staff are able to explain it well.

Nice hotel, however you can see some wear and tear. Really liked the fact that you can easily walk to old Sacramento. The King bed I had definitely needed to be upgraded. Be aware that they charge a fee to park. Otherwise a good hotel.

Very close to all the sites including Old Sac, River walk, downtown, and a walkable distance to the Capitol and K street. Staff very nice, allowed me to check in early,,gave me tourism pamphlets and directions. AND because I have accrued enough reward points to be Spire level, got into the concierge suite for hor d'erves and wine...with a beautiful view. Would def stay here again and rec it to people who are looking for a place to stay...felt very spoiled here!

The location is good for downtown and the rooms are large, comfortable and clean. Some special needs were well met by the personal service of the assistant front office manager, Jeremy Bostick. Also, the bell staff was willing to provide unique personal services. A most enjoyable visit. A small room refrigerator would have made everything perfect.

This is my second stay here first time was for a week in December 2015. All rooms are new nice clean and big. The rooms ending with odd numbers face north. Even numbers face south. I've stayed on both sides I prefer facing south as you can see an obstructed view of the Sacramento river. It would be nice if they had refrigerators in room but not a deal breaker for short stays. I have stayed here a few times and come up to the area about once a month. There are certainly a variety of big brand hotels in the area but the people who work here are why I come back. I usually have lots of shipments sent to the hotel and they're always waiting for me upon arrival. Andrea in the lobby bar is so friendly, so welcoming, and really makes it easier to be on the road so much by having a familiar face! The front desk folks are fun and friendly as well. Hotel service was great. However they charge excessively for parking. Even to self park at 14.00 a day in the neighboring city owned garage, you cannot park between 7am-9am. My friend received a parking ticket. We traveled 400 miles for this?? Never again.

Our room was clean, although it wasn't cleaned until late in the afternoon. Staff were friendly. It's within walking distance to Old Sacramento - about a 5 minute walk. I didn't eat in the hotel restaurant because I thought the prices were high for the quality of food. When they say your room won't be ready until 3:00 PM, that's what they mean. We couldn't check in any earlier, which means we had to take our luggage with us to a 3:00 meeting. We were here for a convention, and the room we had w... Read more

This hotel is in the core of Sacramento and will be right next to the new sports arena. ITs old, run down, and is showing its wear and tear. I'd understand if it were a budget hotel but its charging premium prices. I could not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I like the location of the hotel in relation to Old Town Sacramento. You can walk to Old town in less than two minutes. The room was spacious and clean and relatively quiet. The front desk, housekeeping and bar staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be the prices at the bar: a bottle of domestic beer was twice the cost of what I feel it should have been. We got to Sacramento without a reservation and discovered out-of-sight prices across town and most Hilton-related, Marriott and Starwood hotels booked solid. Finally checked with Holiday Inn. Voila! They had a King bed room at this hotel for a reasonable (compared with other hotels on July 12). We took it. Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable, spacious, clean room. Great location with easy access. Free wi-fi. Grateful for a good night's rest.

My second time to stay here and very pleased with the service and location. If you like to visit Old Sac, it's as close as you can get, just a walk through a convenient underpass and you are right there. Only downside of the location is that the adjacent shopping mall is under renovation and there is nothing else in the immediate area.

I showed up in Sacramento on a Saturday evening thinking hotels would be plentiful. At the second full stop they suggested the Holiday Inn Plaza. Easy to find, lots of parking, nice restaurant / bar area and easy access to the interstate the next morning. All that plus a clean room with a firm bed and good shower, at bargain prices

I actually enjoyed the bed in the handicapped room. The bed was very comfortable but I don't like staying in a handicapped room if I don't need to. I understand when they're oversold an they don't have any rooms left. Still the front desk manager could be a little more accommodating instead of treating me like a bother i'm still giving the hotel high marks I enjoyed the location, accessibility and yes the staff just don't stay in room 721

The service at the bar/lounge is usually slow, so I went to Cypress Grill. Oscar was my waiter. I don't like to give bad reviews without being specific on why. We had Musty water in restaurant and in our room on 12th floor; Peeling linoleum in elevators give it a very dated appearance; Too much yellow in hallways feels too 1970s; 1st Generation card key locks slow and noisy. Otherwise this place is in a great location and a great price.

I made the unfortunate error of leaving my prescription medications when I departed from Holiday Inn-Sacramento this past Saturday. I discovered the oversight when I unpacked yesterday morning, and I contacted the hotel as soon as I discovered them missing. Fabulous location within walking distance of Old Sac. Nice lobby, clean room but lacking refrigerator. Annoying television due to lack of program info and no way to adjust picture aspect. While this hotel is in a good location (minus the construction next door), this hotel simply grosses me out. Every time I've been here, there seems to be hair found all over the floor. I know it's harmless, but it's just discomforting in terms of cleanliness. The carpets in the hallways always have so much crumbs/ stuff all over it too which adds to my distaste. The new arena is now open and whenever any concerts are scheduled that we would like to see, we plan to stay here again. Floors, tub, sink and furniture tops were dirty. Towels didn't smell fresh, hallways smelled terrible (smoke masked with cheap air freshener), door wouldn't lock properly, sheets were stained, tub drained slowly. It was, in a word, gross. I stayed here to attend an event at 1 Golden Gate and for that, and for walking into the old town, the location is perfect. The wifi was quick and usable on multiple devices. The main issue for me was traffic noise even though I was one the 15th floor.
