The outside of the hotel looks a bit rough (as does the lobby), but the rooms were nice and updated. It was clean upon arrival and kept very well cleaned each day. The man at the front desk (he seemed to be there all the time!) was very nice. When checking in I told him I was in a hurry to catch the playoff games - not one bit annoyed he quickly got us checked in. The location was great - pretty much next door to the Governor's mansion. Downtown Sacramento has a lot of homeless people wande... Read more

Staff was pleasant, power worked, had beds, door locked. Good enough. But please expect, Refrigerator stopped working overnight, lost leftovers and team lunch, ceiling leaked in recent past, patches and sloppy painting tell that story, odor was apparent upon entry (never been to a hotel were as soon as we walked in, the kids say "what is that smell?!?"), secondary room door doesn't stay open, code violations included no smoke detector in second room, no GFCI in sink location, found (2) ... This hotel is very kind and patient. The staff are nice most of the time. The breakfast is OK if your not a big eater. Housekeeping is nice but I left something there and I know I did but they deny ever seeing it so they aren't very honest about that. Rooms can be all types and they recently just got renovations so new carpet , new Tvs, new cable, new tables alot of new stuff .

I had to be in Sacramento overnight and needed a place to lay my widdle head. That's exactly what I got, and nothing more. The place is dated but clean. If you need a place to stay, and nothing more, then it's okay. I didn't take my wife and that's good because I would have never heard the end of it. The continental breakfast was just that but everything was fresh and well attended by management. A plus is that it is not too far from the state capital and downtown eateries. All in all, ... We stayed for five days in this nice hotel. It was really clean and family friendly, the room had everything we needed: a table with two chairs, a comfortable bed, a fridge, they added a second bed for our daughter and they cleaned the room and bathroom every day including change of all towels. Every morning they prepared a nice breakfast and the staff was nice and friendly. We would definitely come back here, its really close to the city. Concerning the people, who could hang around in the even... Read more

This hotel is a great value for its location. It is close to restaurants and easy to get to from either side of the city. Not far from the capital and walking distance to a nice Sacramento community. The hotel is clean, but basic. It was quiet (with the exception of the elevator!). The staff is very pleasant and helpful.

What an unpleasant stay. Wifi, telephone, and TV, none of these were working when I entered. My room was unbearably hot when I entered. After an hour of running the AC at full blast wasn't enough to make the room habitable. The front desk was responsive to these problems, but it's a lot. While not the hotel's fault, it was also frustrating that arriving here at 9:30 pm meant that all nearby restaurants were closed. I was here on business, and this hotel did not meet my needs at all. If you'r... Read more

I do say you get what you pay for but the staff is always friendly and helpful. I would recommend to anyone to make the upgrade on the room. It is completely worth the extra 10 dollars a night, you get a way better room.
