Friendly greeting upon arrival, with speedy checkin, water, and a tasty cookie too. Employees are friendly, professional, and seem sincere to help you with all parts of your stay to make it a great experience. This is my preferred place to stay when doing business in this part of California. The rooms are always clean, and the entire complex seems to be quiet.

There is a mall across the street. El Torito and The Elephant Bar are within walking distance. El Torito has a great, "all you can eat" lunch salad and soup for $7.49. The service was great! The bar in the hotel is dark and not much happening, but service was excellent, staff was helpful and food tasted fresh and delicious. The rooms are just fine! Comfortable beds. I did ask for foam pillows as I am allergic to down. They weren't very good. Kind of lumpy.

Internet down most of day June 1. No fridge in my room but friend in adjacent wing had one. Get Sutter or San Joaquin Wing. Kitchen slow. No Privacy cards, maid knocked too early both mornings.

The rooms have been slightly upgraded. We asked for a refrigerator, and also had a microwave this year. the beds are pretty comfortable but I am picky so I get along pretty well. the front desk almost always forgets to inform the housekeeping staff that we do late check out on Sunday, so I have to explain this to the Housekeeping supervisor. Food in the cafe is all right. we didn't eat dinner or lunch there this year. I had one lunch sent to room which was just ok.

We are staying here one night. I was hopeful it would meet my expectations but it did not. The moment I walked into the lobby I smelled an old musty smell and it permeates throughout the hotel and in the rooms. Reminds me of a locker room. Upon checking in I noticed that the curtains were torn and then when I checked the bathroom, I found mold, dirty toilet and rings on the counter from shampoo, conditioner and lotion. It was very obvious to me that the room had not been properly cleaned. I called to front desk and ask for house keeping to come clean the room. They came but at that point, I was done and checked out.

I have been attending the same conference at this location for well over 10 years. I will preface my review with the fact that I have always had a good or very good experience. I know the hotel well and prefer the Arden wing which is closest to the lobby. I checked in at 12 noon not expecting my room to be ready (although many times in the past I was given a key by noon). The room was not ready and I was told to come back at 2 pm. I made it a point to check on my request to be in the Arden ... Read more

I really like the Doubletree and was surprised by the size of the hotel. It is in a great location across the street from the mall and movies. They host some really great parties in their ballrooms and their staff is friendly.

excellent service - we had a very large group (900) and had lunch in the grand ballroom that was served by the hotel staff and they did an excellent job ! The rooms were very comfortable and the room service was also great! I would re commend this hotel!

We spent the night here because our son was leaving for the Air Force the next day. It's a conveniently located hotel. Front desk staff was very nice when we checked in. Lots of activity in the lobby due to all of the military families milling around. We tried to have lunch the first day, but the waiter was too busy discussing his personal life with the bartender. After sitting there for over 1/2 hour and never acknowledged, we left. The next day for breakfast was much better service. It'... Read more

We brought a large group to the Doubletree for a Halloween event in the ballroom. They hotel did a fantastic job of organizing the space, setting up, bar service and making sure we had everything we needed. You can't get better service just about anywhere. We also had a block of rooms. Sales worked hard to make sure we were all on the same floors. The rooms were spotless, well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms had the usual amenities. Our group had a variety of ... Read more

This hotel is nice, it's huge and spread out. Nothing spectacular about it. But it's very functional. The only issues I have is when sitting in line to get room key, people would just walk to the desk and they would help them. So what normally takes couple mins took almost 15. Also I pre checked in with app like normally do, and picked my room. And instead they gave me another room at the furthest point from desk. And middle floor. When I picked top floor so didn't have to hear people walking a... Read more

This is the second year my husband and I have stayed here. The rooms are clean, people are friendly and the bar is awesome. The breakfast is fantastic, so much to choose from! The staff even made me a coffee with lactose free milk that I had purchased and gave them. No complaints here.

This hotel was very out dated. Otherwise a basic hilton. The staff was great, but a phone next to the toilet, reminded me of Reno hotels in the 1980s. If you are looking for a modern hotel, this not it. If your looking for a quick hilton this is it.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Bed extremely comfortable. The place was a bit outdated. They tried to update the rooms but the building still needed some serious help. I would still stay there due to convenience and great staff.

Stayed here one night and it was good. The place needs to be updated. There was a little rust in the bathroom vent. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. The wait time to check out was long, but there was an event going on at the hotel. Over all for the price it was fine.

We stayed there two nights after returning from a week in Angels Camp, as our flights were out of Sacramento. End of trip, I needed to just relax after lots of car time. Other two in my group went to San Francisco last day; I slept until 9:30, had an astonishing brunch ($19 with everything, and great quality and service), used the heated pool, and just relaxed that day. Later, got some food from the lounge. Reasonable, delicious (street tacos), and staff was nice. Next morning, the three of... Read more

Front desk staff were friendly and efficient, room was horrible- checked in to a used towel in my bathroom on the vanity, a glass cover on the floor, obvious mildew smell coming from the shower, non working heat lamp and brown spots on the wall. The people are great but the housekeeping has given up. Location is a bit sketchy (homeless present across the property sleeping on the lawn). I would not stay here again.

I usually don't take the time to write reviews, but my recent stay at this hotel warranted one. My company booked rooms for several of us to stay for two weeks. At check-in, one member of our party was placed in a room with a mini-fridge and a microwave. The rest of us were placed in rooms that had neither. For a two week stay, mind you. Another person in our party was successfully moved to a room with the fridge/microwave combo. The rest of us were stuck, and the front desk remarked, "you would... Read more

This is a very nice full-service hotel. It can easily accommodate a company or personal meeting function. Only recommendation of hesitation I have is to confirm all the details of your reservation as you approach the date of stay. When I arrived, I overheard someone doing this, and finding some errors. I had to call down to the front desk for new pillows, as the type I requested and confirmed online were not provided. Convenient location to downtown, shopping, SAC State Univ., and Expo/Fair... 5 rooms 4 kings and 1set of Queens. At arrival they said I had 3 kings and 2 Queen rooms. Couldn't be corrected per hotel had to settle for 3 kings 2 queens, this after I called twice prior to arrival to make sure it was right. That didn't happen. The reason I called reservations back was that the email they sent me had 7 rooms and I thought it was corrected, which they assured me it was. On arrival ,well that didn't happen.

Great location, but the hotel is old and run down. The rooms are musty and stale and have dated and filthy popcorn ceilings. The tubs are very old and cramped. My car was blocked in my a large crane and I could not locate anyone to move it. This property is not on par with other Doubletree properties.

I travel for business quite frequently and stayed at this Hilton to visit a friend, and it was by far the worst experience I have ever had. Granted there was a fight being shown at the hotel the night I checked in , so I should have known. My room had a balcony and when I went to tried to close he door to it, it never would fully latch not only making me feel unsafe but making it very loud and hard to control the temperature in the room. Nice lobby and surprisingly good hotel restaurant food. Though I didn't use it, pool area and hot tub looked nice. The room was clean but pretty dated with its furnishings (window coverings and avocado green shower.) I can deal with dated furnishings as long as sanitation is #1. The room was pretty dark, though, even with all lights turned on. Good value for California, though. Would probably stay again if in the area.

Despite the cost (twice as much as other motels in the Sacramento area) the room was actual far worse than any I've stayed in. No microwave oven or refrigerator. Chipped or nicked furniture. Multiple scuff marks on nearly every wall. Broken ice machine and feather pillows which I'm allergic to. I had to call the front desk twice to get alternative pillows - after waiting 45 minutes after the first call. Big hotels can be impersonal and unattractive and, unfortunately, that was our experience with the Doubletree Sacramento. The problems started at check-in. We arrived before the 4pm check in and were told our room was not ready. The clerk said he would check with housekeeping and try to get it ready as soon as possible. When we returned then at 4.15, we expected to be able to access the room. However, we were informed it still wasn??t ready and were asked to wait. Clearly nothing had been done... Read more
