This hotel is a cut above the other Hampton Inn and Suites I have stayed at. The staff are friendly and professional. Rooms are very nice with a separate kitchen area, complete with microwave, sink, and refrigerator. The breakfast is also very good, with plenty of hot entrees and a large seating area. I will be returning on a regular basis when I stay in the area.

I was impressed with the HI. The bed was comfy, the place was clean, and the breakfast was good and hot. It's easy to walk to several restaurants and it's about 3/4 mile to the main gate at China Lake. The next time I go to Ridgecrest, I will go back.

A friend and I were returning to Sacramento from a poultry show in San Diego. After battling traffic on the way to the show, we opted to return on Hwy. 395. Great choice! We were surprised to find that Ridgecrest, which is a little ways off the highway, is like a welcoming oasis in the desert. There were lots of nice hotels there, but we chose the Hampton Inn and were very pleased. It was big city quality in a peaceful, small town atmosphere. Our chickens spent a safe night in the car and after ... Read more

We were heading to Death Valley from Sequoia National Park and stayed here for one night. Reception staff were friendly and helpful and the room was large, comfortable and clean. We spent an hour sitting by the pool after our drive to Ridgecrest which was relaxing. The hotel was close to a supermarket where we stocked up on food and drink before heading to Death Valley. From the on line check-in and room selection, a first for me, the personal interface at check-in thru the seamless check out this was one of my best hotel experience for many months, and this includes much higher priced properties. The breakfast was on a par with similar places, BUT the people tending the breakfast service really seemed to enjoy their job. One woman in particular seem really concerned that all of the guests were having a pleasant experience. The morning I was checking out, she... Read more

We stayed at this hotel as a stopover before reaching Bishop, our final destination. I expected the typical run-of-the-mill motel but this far exceeded my expectations. Paid $100 all-in for my family of 4 and that included breakfast. Hassle-free when using digital check-in. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Only not-so negative comment is that the beds were a bit firmer than I'd like. Other than that, very nice place to stay and I would stay here again.

The Hampton Inn worked out perfectly for us. The king room was not large, but really well laid out, with good storage, lighting, and mirrors. There was a refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee maker. The bathroom was really modern and nice, with good towels. The bed was really comfortable, with nice linens. The pool and spa area is a little worn, but it is probably impossible to keep it maintained with so much wind and heat. The breakfast was nicer than most, with hot and cold items. There is c... During the Erskine Fire, we were displaced. This staff was so wonderful and helpful to us during an awful ordeal. We stayed at Hampton Inn in Ridgecrest at the peak of a heat wave with a forest fire roaring close by, sending smoke through Ridgecrest. But our room was very large and comfortable, and we had a good rest that night. The breakfast was exceptional; hot and cooked to order, with choices including eggs, waffles, ham, pancakes, potatoes, and juices. For the price it was an exceptional value.

The competition is pretty mediocre in Ridgecrest except the Springhill. You stay here if you are Hilton loyalist, there if you are Marriott, and anywhere else in town if you don't have enough money. It's like every other Hampton Inn in the country: nice but unremarkable.

This was the first Hampton Inn that I've ever stayed in. My experience was uniformly good for the one day that I was there. Ridgecrest is a small town on the east side of the Sierra Nevada mountain range a 100 miles or so from Death Valley. Apparently tourist and the military are the big draws.
