Had a wonderful stay for business. While I didn't stay for the breakfast, everything else I can vouch for. We stayed on the bottom floor and had no problems with neighbors surrounding us (noise wise). The bedding and bed was just like home. The room itself was spacious enough for us. Parking is easy and wifi was free. I did have a bit of a hiccup with checking in as I used a different website than Red Lion's but after that, everything was fantastic. We had a long trip and I was ready for a nice hot shower to go to a conference in the evening. I was not able to take a hot shower because the hot water wasn't working, so I had to take a cold and very fast shower. We were told that maintenance would fix the problem while we were gone for the meeting. The next morning I went to work out in the fitness room. The t.v.'s were inconsistent with their wifi connection. I went back to my room to take a shower after working out. I had to be at a meeting... Read more

I stay her for business and find it very nice. Well maintained, bar is ok, restaurant is a little too "open" for me but that's personal preference. Pool hot tub nice well maintained as is the property. The real suprise was the soaps...as strange as that sounds. The bars of soap are the best I've seen in ANY hotel, some kind of charcoal tea something. In any event it's the only time I've taken them with me. Shampoo is nice too.

Only thing bad is that turning the shower on and adjusting the temperature is very hard to do. With someone that has a hard time using their hands they need to fix that. Pool was nice but both days the there were no clean pool towels. We had to go into the gym to get towels because the line at the front desk was so long. Pool isn't heated and hot tub isn't for kids. We had many issues with our stay at the Red Lion in Redding. It started when we had to wait in line to check because a staff member was using the front desk phone to make a personal call (repeatedly telling the caller how much she loved them). We were in the "Interstate Wing" of the hotel which was correctly named because you can hear traffic from I-5 and see I-5 from your room. Not awesome. The shower was cold and had no water pressure. I couldn't even wash the shampoo out of my hair. Many of t... Read more

My family of 5 are currently taking a roadtrip from Spokane, WA to Disneyland! After a very long 11 hour "first leg", we were very pleased that we selected this hotel. It is conveniently located to many restaurants and shopping. The room was VERY clean and perfect to accommodate 2 parents with 3 kiddos (2 sinks!!!) The one and only reason why I gave a rating of 4 instead of 5 was due to the air vent blowing directly onto the second queen bed everytime it kicks on, which caused our 2 year old... Read more

There is no room service in the night when we stayed. And they charge for the breakfast. The breakfast has very little selection and they water the juice too much. They probably forgot to put in concentration for apple juice. The room is clean and ok but a little old.

I am a very difficult guest in that I need good wifi and TV's that will accommodate my viewing needs. To that end the manager and front desk people, Antoinette and others, went out of their way to make sure I had what I needed. Now the reasons for the 4 stars and not 5 is the room was on the small side but I was told that was the older building and that was why. The upside to that building is WALK IN showers and that puts a huge smile on my face, but the down side was it was small. The dou... Read more

My experience here was unique. I have written about this before, but I have special needs as to running my Blu Ray player and Roku (using my laptop and hotel wifi), and the manager and staff went above and beyond to help me. At one point I wanted to look at other rooms to compare amenities, and I was helped by a very nice maintenance person. Four Seasons gets 5 stars for obvious reasons, this Red Lion gets 5 stars because they work so hard to earn it.

Have not stayed in a Red Lion for years, and ti appears they have not updated their properties, or at least this one, since then. Very dated looking hotel, with some wear and tear quite evident. Staff was very nice and evry friendly. Rooms were average size with everything you'd expect. Balconies were on a courtyard shared by 20 other rooms, with small tables and chairs. It's an inner courtyard and not very inviting. It was winter, so didn't bother with the balcony. A very noisy bar is on first ... Read more

When we first checked in the room seemed clean and pleasant enough. However while in the bathroom a cockroach crawled out and scared the life out of me! Managed to catch/kill it and placed it in a portable cup. As we checked out I presented the evidence and expected as least an apology. NOPE! Check in was easy although I had to book through booking.com to get the best rate. The pool looked nice with lots of families enjoying it. We didn't use it though. Our family had two queen beds which were comfortable and the room was clean. It even had a free water which was nice as were the soaps and lotions. No complaints. There are balconies but ours looked out on the parking lot if you want to use them I recommend a court yard view.

We stopped at RL Hotel in Redding on our way to Southern CA. It was a one night stop and, although the reviews seem quite positive, we found this place particularly underwhelming. The check-in experience was terrible. It took them 20 min only to realize that they have mistakenly given our room to someone else... and once they sorted all this out, they gave us a similar room but quite unclean. All in all - disappointing.

Rolled in to town after a looooong day of traveling (6 hours of driving and two planes) and was less than excited to see the hotel looked older and under construction. We were pleasantly surprised as we entered the lobby. Got to the front desk only to be told they did NOT have my reservation. After looking further Rasey discovered I actually had made the reservation for the same day I booked it (ugh). We booked this hotel while on the road and based much of our decision on location, price and convienent well reviewed restaurant. They did have food service out in the lobby in the breakfast area but they had no bar service. Other parts of the hotel were also undergoing a renovation--ma... Read more

The room was spacious and clean and the beds comfortable. Our room was in the back near hwy 5 but quiet. We were booked into a room on the 2nd floor and were surprised there are no elevators. The front desk clerk was very nice and changed our room to the 1st floor. If you prefer a ground floor it would be best to ask for it when booking the reservation. For a woman traveling alone, ask for an interior room. The ground floor outside rooms have a sliding door out to a small patio. We had... Read more
