"The kids loved it - and the parents could relax at the pool. Rooms are large and well equipped. Nice open air mall close by (walking distance) with great restaurants for families (e.g. Cheescake Factory) - only bummer was that we found 2 cockroaches in our room. But I guess that's what can happen in the desert..."

Check your bonus offerings before you arrive...after we checked out we saw that our package included $500 worth of perks and nobody even mentioned it at check in!! "I had a great time here with my toddler daughter. The rooms are nice and clean and the pool area is set up really well for kids and families, although with all the people using it, I'm surprised they haven't found a way to keep the water and sandy area cleaner. nThe lazy river is really fun and even when it's super hot outside, there is enough shade and water spraying to make it comfortable to be out by the pool for hours at a time.nThis place is really well set up for families and kids, but if you don't have kids, you may be annoyed by all of them running around and taking over!nThe staff was very helpful and although the food and drinks are pricey (it's a resort afterall) the quality of the food and service was very good."

"The resort is amazing, however beware of deals on room rates - pool side drinks are $12 and there are hidden resort fees you are not aware of. We ordered dinner for two and had some beers delivered and it was $120 for a chicken wrap and some pasta.
I would go back, but stock up on food at Vons down the street and byob and you can have a minimally expensive resort getaway.

"My daughter, myself and two little granddaughters enjoyed our 'girls weekend' more than I ever amagined. The lazy river was so fun---the little sandy beach a great babysitter...the girls played for such a long time while we relaxed and sat back and just enjoyed the fun! We enjoyed all the restaurants close by then ended our night at the poolside movie for the girls. Who know we could have so much fun in 107degree weather with two little ones who are full of life! My only complaint - the family area pool was so crowded, the weekend we went, that the water was covered in sunscreen, wasn't very clear, and there was a lot of hair in the water. "This is a great resort for adult & kids. The hotel is located right in the middle of Rancho Mirage (it's the best area of Palm Springs). Everything is near by; Great restaurants, Starbucks, the mall, super markets. It's all within 5 minutes drive. But for the most part they have everthing inside the hotel including Starbucks coffee, golf course, great restaraunt & SPA. My kids love the water park & We already making plans for a second trip."

The only problem was that it has two water sides and on Monday, August 6th, one of the slides was closed because they were under staffed with lifeguards. How could the hotel be under staffed when that is one of the prime attractions for families. That was very disappointing! "

"the hotel had potential because of all the amenities offered for the kids, but needed some major TLC. There was algea all around the pool area. The pool needed some money put into it. There was pool deck chipped all over the stairs of the slides. The staff during the day at the pool seemed miserable. My family and I clean up after ourselves, but there are a lot of families that don't. In my opinion the pool staff should have gone around during the day and cleaned up chairs and garbage. It was left there till the pool closed at the end of the day."

"I love Rancho Mirage! It was my family's first time to go there. The area is quiet. No traffic. Stores and shops are close by. You can drive around and take a pick of any place to go to eat. You cant help but just relax... it was no stress .. no mess vacay ththat I was looking for.. take note they have a daily resort fee. If you want a fridge in your room. There's a $25 one time fee.."

"Hotel Lobby and restaurants were nice. Liked the BluEmber. Some items were a bit overpriced though. The rooms were a bit dated for the price and room service was not very quick, but other than that our stay was relaxing. Hubby enjoyed the golf course and liked the fact that you could play all day for one fee. He was also able to get Tee times right away. The kids liked the lazy pool, but it was very crowded. The kids beach area was something to be desired. My son was expecting a beach area, but instead got sand dumped on the concrete with beach chairs all over. Not what we expected. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained."

"Let me start by saying that the resort is beautiful. With that being said, it is extremely kid friendly. There were lots of children. Some supervised by their parents and others running around like wild children while their parents drank all day/night. If you are going to this resort and do not have children or left them at home for a relaxing weekend away, request a room far, far away from the children's pool area. This resort lets children run the place so there is really only the tranquility pool to relax since it is far away from the children and drunken parents pool. We had a room far off in the distance so it was very quiet and relaxing. We spent most of the day in the tranquility pool which was very peaceful/quiet. However, should you want a drink in the bar, the resort let's the little monsters in there too so be prepared. Why a resort/parent would allow children in a bar is beyond us but they do. At least we had a chance to play pool, have a drink, and dinner before the noise started. Still on the fence if we'd return or not."

"I came here during the 4th of July holiday and the pool was pretty packed that day but still enjoyable. The rest of the days, it was much more enjoyable as it wasn't as packed. We were able to see the fireworks from outside our room which was great. Everything was excellent but I just wished that they had a fridge in the room. The fridge that we had was a mini fridge which had some drinks in there provided by the hotel however it didn't seem to be too cold. One thing that made me upset was that I was double charged. I got my refund back after 3 business days! I would still recommend and go back to this hotel."

"I thought this was a great place to bring the kids. The Splashtopia and drive in, dive in movies were a huge hit!!!! The only complaints I had were that the staff at the pool was few and far between and the room could have been cleaned better (hair and such in the bathroom...yuck!) There didn't seem to be any attention to detail as far as cleaning went in our room. Also, as with most big resorts everything consumable was way over priced, so be careful if you are on a budget!!!"

"This is the resort we like to stay at in ps only because of the water park. Most of the staff around the pool were new and couldn't provide any info about the scheduled activities. The stairs to the slides were molded with cracked paint and smelled badly. Service around the pool was very very slow but they sure came by fast to bring the bill. Beds were not comfortable at all!"

"We were there for a Bday celebration. Service at pool was lacking tremendously. Waiter decided to stay behind the counter rather than servicing the customers in and around the pool, not just one day but all three. They could have tripled their FnB take if they had people taking care of their customers. They need to work a better parking system as well, could not find spots any where near my room during weekend!
Golf, although a great price, greens were in terrible shape, Not just punched but weed infested. It was like putting over craters!!! No cart, snack bar serviced the golfers and the pools, one person at counter with 10 golfers in-line and pool moms special ordering breakfast makes for a slow turn. If you want snacks, pack them in your bag, all they had were peanuts and cheese crackers."

"I love this place have been going for three years now But... This year the some of the staff seemed to be really rude. My husband got yelled at by a life guard for not having a tube in the lazy river. There was a couple of lifeguards fighting in front of our room regarding who was gonna cover their shift. I requested a couple of things but I did not get what I asked for. So this year was not that good at all. We will be going again next year lets hope things get better."

"Had intended on staying 2 nights in this hotel but thankfully decided to stay elsewhere for the other night. It's OK, but doesn't live up to the standards they advertise. The room was 'tired' and the service at breakfast was hopeless. Food fine (although we only had breakfast). The grounds are lovely, location is perfect and the staff friendly enough. My 4 yr old was in heaven at Splashtopia, but there were a lot of people/kids enjoying it too so if you're looking for a quality hotel you may want to choose elsewhere. If you want a hotel where the kids will have fun, then this works. There's nothing unbearable here, but for the money I think you can find better - I certainly wouldn't classify it as a 'Luxury Resort'!"

"The room was clean and housekeeping cleaned it the next day. We only stayed for two nights, my son was not 42 inches so he can ride the water slide however he enjoyed the slow river and the pool. water temp was good and it was in the 100's. We did not eat in, we checked local eateries. I can't say wow about this resort however we did not have any bad experience. Next time you might try a regular hotel if your kids are not 42 inches tall."

"Every year ( for the past 8 years) my family and i come to this resort as an end of season celebration of hard work. This was the first time we stayed on a weekend. This will never happen again. The pool was severly overcrowded. Also for the first time i actually had to clean the toilet area which was a health hazard to say the least. If i could post a picture i would. Thank God i brought some clorox wipes in my car. Lastly, i left with a rash on my arm...bed bug bites. I think the cleaning crew must have skipped our room. really dissappointed. We actually looked at another hotel for our next stay. Sorry but for those of you who care i thought i should right this write-up. It hasn't always been this way,but i think as the years go on the cleanliness of the rooms has suffered. If you dont care, have a greattime."

"We took a three night trip to RLP with our two boys (3 yo and 5 month old) and had a great time! The pool was fantastic but we felt the $28/day resort fee to be rather high, especially given the pool was shoulder-to-shoulder busy on Saturday. Our room was really nice and situated right on the fairway but oddly, the bathroom fixtures seemed to all be loose and/or falling off (i.e. towel bar, toilet paper holder). Overall I would recommend this resort, just would caution around weekend stays."

"the property and location are great. the staff is fantastic. the blu ember was not up to standards. although the food was good, the service was slow and not attentive. we were the only guests inside seating. the service was poor. If you are calling yourself fine dining, your staff should know how to engage with the guests. over priced for what you get. the staff at the pools and bars were wonderful. bell and vallet fantastic. for some reason we had to call houskeeping to clean our room. but they were there in no time, problably an oversight. we love being so close to the river walk. The tasting room at the tulip winery is fantastic!"

"My gf's and I really needed a place for Coachella weekend, and little did we know where this hotel was in location to Indio. It ended up being super far away (20 miles), so we only stayed one night out of the two nights we booked. Our experience was better than expected. Super comfortable with everything you needed only a dial away. Would certainly book again if I happened to be in the area. Clean rooms, friendly service, patio and view of the golf course, what more could you want?!"

"We only spent a weekend but we totally enjoyed it! We have a 3 year old girl and she loved the pool and the Lazy River! I was impressed with the fact that the water in pool was about 90 degrees F. For young kids it is very nice! We had a room near the pool and I was afraid that it will be noisy..i saw some complaints..but the noise was not an issue. I would recommend this hotel for anybody with young kids. Very nice and clean the hotel and the rooms!"

The accommodations, the food, the pool and water park the 3 9 hole golf courses everything and it's 100% kid friendly. "Just got back from 4 nights / 5 days at Ranchos Las Palmas. Food was good, kids loved it and the room was clean. We didn't venture into the adult only area, as we brought 3 kids, but looked very nice.
The staff were great; maids were smiling and my check-in and out were fast and easy.
We had a breakfast $50 credit per day which was awesome.
Wife used spa and enjoyed it.
I would say it would have been a perfect stay, but the Splashtopia was closed for 2.5 hours one day due to mis-scheduling and the next for 6 hours because of thunderstorm. Hotel didn't try and make it up to guests, but then again, I didn't ask.
I will bring kids back again."

"OMG!!! Beautiful resort , hotel staff very accommodating, very posh rooms, beds very very comfy, superbly clean, grounds are beautiful, the city itself is amazing. The children were always at the lazy river or in the hot tub. We would return in a flash. I have travelled quite a bit and this place was definitely a 10. The weather well, 80-85 everyday, it has not been this hot in 35 years,(at this time of year)
P.S. Restaurants in Palm Springs are awesome, great food, great experience.

"Our stay at this hotel was lovely experience. Friendly staff and a comfortable room overlooking the faiway. Good location for things to see and do or just relax by one of the pools. We enjoyed a day at their spa where we had a great massage.
