Very clean and manicured. Really didn't interact with the staff too much too busy exploring the area. Palm Desert much better than staying in Palm Springs. Loved taking the tramway up to over 8000 feet elevation

I really like this hotel. Stayed here several times with the family. Good facilities and most of the staff is friendly. On the downside, be very careful looking at your bill when you check out. Every time I stay here (and it seems most Mariotts) there are stray charges. First thing you will notice is that even if you are on a package that says "resort fee included", they will try to charge you for it. As a matter of fact, this time, they charged me a resort fee for the day before I even arrived.... Read more

Very clean rooms and comfortable beds. We had a king room with a large balcony over looking one of the pools. Great place to sit and enjoy your morning coffee and watch the sun rise! The hotel had a free boat ride around the lake that started from the lobby area. It was very nice and staff was very knowledgeable of the area and all of the animals. Several restaurants on the property as well as a sushi bar in the main lobby/bar area. Pools are all beautiful and the pool service was fantastic!

It offers everything you could want in a relaxing getaway. No need to leave really! Every staff member we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful. To start off, I am a very traveled person. I have been to Europe, the Bahamas, Carribean, and all over the United States - mostly for work but some for leisure. I was recently contemplating purchasing a timeshare in Cancun because I couldn't find a decent resort in the US. That all changed when I discovered the JW Marriott in Palm Desert, California. The service was excellent. I never once felt disrespected and the waiters and waitresses, front desk, etc always went out of their way to make ... Read more

There are a few pools so you can decide if you want to be by the party pool or away from it on another part of the property. There is some shops and golf you like doing that. You can take gondola rides, but the line was long so I didn't get to it. The restaurants by the water were nice. It was relaxing to sit out there at night. We visited here as part of a large group event. Pool areas are great and plenty big enough to handle all guests. Food options are ok but not outstanding but this is pretty normal for resorts. The front of house staff was very friendly. I also had a nice massage at the spa and experienced those amenities also. Super duper sweet staff with nothing but good attitude to share. Lots of space and options and plentiful staff looking after the tidiness of the grounds and pools. Very safe feeling as well. I spent 4th of July weekend at this beautiful resort and was impressed during my stay. The resort is huge, clean, and makes you forget that you are in the middle of the desert. There are beautiful views throughout the resort of the golf course, pools, huge lakes and plenty of palm trees. Room: I stayed in room 7084 on the 7th floor. My husband and 3 yo stayed for 1 night last week. They left an iPad mini in the room and we have called 4 times in the last week. We get a different person each time who says the room is occupied and they will leave a message for housekeeping to look and that they will call us back the next day. No return calls so we start over the next day. It's unfortunate because it's a beautiful hotel. I am in the military and stationed an hour away so we go to this area a lot.

We stayed here for one night during a roadtrip. This resort is a super duper luxury resort. This is for the 'upper class'. As a one-night stay, this was more than an overkill for us... Nevertheless we enjoyed the environment with a great pool an minigolf. While we were there, there was some ballroom dancing contest going on --> We saw a lot of 'posh' people. I fell in love with this hotel when I first visited the desert in 1988. We stayed in the fall when the weather was temperate. One approaches the hotel and is immediately taken by expansive water features and flamingos. Inside the massive lobby there is more water and hotel rooms rising up over the lobby. Only catch was we had a room at the VERY VERY end of the buildings, so we walked a long long way to get back to the room, which is hard on 5 tired kids ages 6-12. We enjoyed the resort but had a few issues with the air conditioner not working and the shower doesn't have anyplace to put toiletries. The restaurants are good and we love the large bar in the middle of the lobby. Worked well for a business event. Pool area is nice but it's just too hot to use it. Overall, it's nice but not excellent.

I recently attended a conference at the hotel. The hotel staff are the best part about staying at the JW Marriott in Palm Desert, the hotel staff are all very friendly and helpful. Our room is in need of some serious updating. Small shower with overly high water pressure, while the sink put out just a trinkle. The golf course was not crowded and it was very nice especially considering only a $60 green fee. It was a very nice relaxing week, spending much of our free time relaxing at one of ... Read more

The property was very nice, but very far away from things that we normally like to do. The resort itself had some stuff to do, golf, pools, restaurant, and spa. This time of year was a little cold to always be at the pool and didn't bring my golf clubs. The spa itself was decent. I would probably come here again for a weekend getaway with the wife.

Beautiful environment, super friendly staff, perfect pool water temperature, well equipped gym/spa and plenty of tennis courts. I was drawn to this hotel on the advertised quality of the tennis camps, and that is where I got somewhat disappointed because it is mostly dead on the summer - felt like common sense amongst the locals as the temperature is very high, but I'd think this needed to be more clearly spelled out on the website/booking. Our room was massive, ultra luxurious with a large balcony and beautiful views of the pools and golf course. The are 3 pools and two championship golf courses, 20 tennis courts and many restaurants. WiFi is free and fast and included in the resort fee of $30 a night which is well worth it. I will be back to this beautiful hotel....

Enjoyed our stay here. A nice resort with very comfortable beds, however, the 'over-sized, motel-looking' exterior, dyed water, and unattractive, geometrically-shaped pools, are all a bit of an eyesore. Another negative is the size of the property; very spread out, so it takes awhile to get 'the lay of the land' and go from point A to point B.

There "Golf" special pricing has significantly gone up over the years. $299.00 for 2, including all the golf you want. Compared at what we used to pay $189.. At any rate, you wont be disappointed with the golf and or the POOL afterwards. The pool is OFF the hook in June, July Aug. Trust me! Have fun... Will continue to use their facilities for golfing.
