"this hotel was just ok...i was expecting a little more cuz of reconstruction.
the pools are nice but beware of splashing children. i was hoping for an adult pool but that was too much. Food & entertaiment was across street in 112o
weather it was sweaty. rooms are still old if you ask me.. we tried to check in at
12:30pm said they put a rush on it, but really??? finally got room at 4;35 pm
was a bite upset about that...
bottom line average hotel with average stuff minus the food/enteratinment at hotel really limited what to do there/
if price is right i would stay again, but i would be prepared for a long wait for the room......"

"I kinda expected more since this place was considered a resort and I had to pay an extra $20 a night because of that. I would consider this place a hotel or even a motel... not a resort. The rooms were ok, nothing special. The bathrooms were small, looked like a motel 6 bathroom w a marble counter. The pool area was ok, nothing special. The hotel is actually separate from the casino, you need to walk a block to get to the casino which I thought was a little weird. We ate at all the umm, i guess you'd call them restaurant there except the steak house. It seemed over priced for a casino steak house plus our other experiences with their restaurants wasn't too good so we avoided it. The Noodle house only had 5 types of sushi rolls, all of them were $10 and probably the quality that you get off a 7/11 shelf. I won't be staying there anymore, the Motel 6 and other cheap motels in palm springs looked just as nice... if anything i'd advise to check out those places or another resort that is actually a resort. This place wasn't horrible but not one thing stood out or was nice enough to be considered a resort."

"Annual meeting place for our Mom's Spa Weekend. The Spa Facilities are great, staff are very friendly and services are wonderful. Wish more items were available for dining in the Spa as well as the Hotel itself. Overall a good place to have a relaxing time."

"Valet guys always on break and don't care bout the clients. The Hotel was uncourteous and the employees barely spoke english. The valets didnt drive me to the casino and told me the shuttle was for handicaped and noone else but i saw them escorting on atleast a few occacions taking girls in bikinis. The security at the casino was awful. They didnt allow me to go to the buffet because they dont let anyone in if theyre not 21 so my 4 month old son couldnt get in. So i to get some food from other sources and not the hotel i was staying in. Wouldnt recomment to anyone. else especally i if u have kids because they cant get in if theyre not 21 and buffett is the casino and under 21 cant go to buffett so trip is kinda useless"

"I have stayed an many different hotels in Palm Spring and the area during this time, including...nnThe RivieranHayatt (downtown)nLa QuintanAgua Caliente (SUPERB)nnGreat customer service. nnBut...nn1) Casino is not on the property- Which wouldn't necessarily be a problem excep when it's 110 degrees at 9PM at night and you don't want to walk a block and risk a stroke. n2) No indoor restaurant- There's an outdoor bar and restaurant, but no place to relax and have a drink in an air conditioned space.n3) My room never got below 76 degrees- Even though the AC was blasting at 50 degrees for 3 straight days. Tech said nothing he could do, and that's how all the rooms were. n4) No air ventilation in the bathroom- The bathroom was small, which is OK, but really, no ventialtion... at all?n5) Do not make it easy- They do not make it easy to explore downtown. The hotel's main entrance is opposite downtown Palm Srpings and there is poor signage to direct you if you wanted to venture out. n6) Spa??? - Abominable. The fact that the spa facilities are not included with any massage treatments (or any treatment) is absurd! I have been to spas all over the world, and I've never been nickeled and dimed, not till I came here. It took me 30 minutes to understand the fee structures. I did not get any treatments here, so I cannot comment in detail about the experience. But why anyone would get a massage here is beyond me. n7) For how much we paid, we could have stayed at the Hayatt (in a better location) and taken a taxi to the casino, everyday. It would have been cheaper. nnIt is shocking that Agua Caliente is operated by the same maangement. I LOVE the Caliente. Fantastic Hotel, service, staff, food, and spa. Since there's more bars and restaurants in Downtown Palm Springs, I chose this facility instead, expecting the same amenities and experience."

"Overall, the hotel and casino are immaculate. The outside of the hotel is deceiving, because the facade is the same since it was built in 1963. But once you step inside the hotel, the lobby area is beautiful and the rooms are nicely renovated with flat screen tvs and balcony areas. The mattress was extremely comfortable. The staff easily accomodated our request to switch from a 2 queen bed to one king bed room. The only downside is that we had to wait 45 minutes for our room and we checked in just around 4p. There were minor housekeeping issues that my girlfriend noticed and we had to get new cardkeys on the second day. Overall, it was a great experience and I will try to stay there again."

"As you read my review and see a few issues, remember they are minor and we would stay here again and plan to do it. I point out a few issues for the traveler that may have different needs from ours. We are of modest income and expect high value with our limited means. This trip delivered on all counts.
As I write this we have been on the property 4 days and we fly out tomorrow. The property has some age but it barely shows. You would need a more critical eye than ours to find fault. The rooms and halls are spotless, The staff is the most friendly bunch I have ever met. The room is clean odorless spotless and a pleasure to return to at night. We have a king bed that I wish we could take back home with us.
We got a great rate on the room by using a company I had never heard of 'bookit.com' and was afraid that something would go wrong. My fears were groundless. The negatives I am about to mention are very minor and should not weigh to heavy on you decision, but they are things we noticed.
1) The property restaurants are not what we expected. They are all located across the street and are in the casino. They are a bit over hyped on the website, expect much less than what is described. This was not an issue for us as we had planned to eat off property and this made the decisions even easier. We did try the Noodle restaurant and it was average. The Steakhouse was a '2' at best.
2) The casino was not all that much. My only comparison is Las Vegas, so maybe I expected too much. My wife was concerned that I did not want to go back to the casino as I talked up wanting to play the tables before we flew out. There were no Craps at all, the Roulette wheel was a card version and there were not very many card tables. The slots were fun, but that's not want I really like. We used the Casino twice and that's all I really wanted to do, it was just was not all that for me.
3) Room TV. Odd and spotty reception. While we did not really care, while getting ready to turn in, it is nice to be able to watch a favorite show. Some channels reminded me of the old days of moving the antenna to get a picture.
4) Internet. Either it worked great or not at all. If you rely on service while away, be prepared for just walking away and trying again a few hours later. Again not an issue as we were just uploading photos and not really a pressing need.
5) Pool/SPA/etc. All are great, but I find it odd they we working on all this while we were here. This is the 'High' season and the film festival is in full swing. Why they don't do this in August when no one is here is beyond me. It was a real construction site with tape, barriers, glue, stone, etc. We had to hunt our way to the spa and just bagged the pool all together. They are close to being done, so this should not affect your trip.
I hope this helps, don't be afraid to stay here, we are already planning next year!"

"This was a beautiful, comfy, clean, very nice resort that I will return to. The only thing that spoiled it for me was the condescending attitude of the gentleman that checked me in the eve I got there. Gladly I didn't run into him again and the rest of the staff was very approachable, courteous and nice, which made me feel welcomed.
I decided to stay an extra night as I liked it but they were sold out, wish I would have planned ahead."

"Big difference w/ all the improvments to the rooms & property.Would have stayed longer but there wasnt avaliblity.Not sure why the bar & restaurant closed in the hotel.Maybe they will rethink the closing especially if you have kids or just want a drink after the pool bar is closed or its to cold.Sometimes you dont want to walk to the casino.Have to be 21 tobe able to use the casino restaurants"
