We were pleasantly surprised! After viewing the reviews we were nervous. The gals at the desk were great. Asked for a room with a nice view and got it! The furniture was in good shape. The bed was very comfortable! The place must have been at least 1000 sqft. It's seen some wear and tear. But I give the housekeeping credit. VERY Clean! Walked to everything! We got a great discount booking within the week of travel. We will definitely be back!

I have to reserve one star ratings for truly terrible experiences. Marquis Villas Resort just managed to get two stars due to the location and size of the room. Marquis Villas Resort wasn't a travesty, just a disappointment resulting from multiple smaller annoyances that built up. The general theme of our stay was finding that things weren't kept up or did not work. That goes for the elevators that others have mentioned, but also any other appliance that would need maintenance. Getting ice ... Read more

The only reason we stayed here is because it was a Diamond Resort and I have to say that we will not stay here again. Let's start with the parking lot; creepy underground with fencing to block off certain areas, flickering lights and creaking sounds. I felt like it was a place to film a horror movie. Both elevators are not working and apparently have been down since July 2015!! I was appalled when I heard that. We were not informed of non-working elevators at time of booking. I do not mind a... Just got back from two nights at this property all condos with great square footage. Great pool, amenities, fitness center, great personnel, underground protected parking, and just a block from the Casino, Pinocchio's in the Desert, Sherman's Deli, and of course the nightlife of PS! Price was very reasonable even though we made last minute reservations. They are doing some renovations which include fixing the elevator so be prepared to climb some stairs request floor #1!

We have stayed at this resort a few times now and is a great place to spend a weekend away from home or a week long vacation. It is only a 5 minute walk to the main strip for shopping, dining and bar hopping. The rooms are clean, although the appliances are slightly dated. The mountain view rooms offer an excellent view with large balconies to relax on and watch the sunset.

ALL ELEVATORS are out of service and have been for 6+ months with no plan to repair them, which they don't tell you upon booking. The decor is dated and dirty. They don't service the rooms daily. Pool and spa are dirty. Tennis courts need resurfacing. Basically they don't maintain the property. It's a shame because the rooms are big, the views are great, and the location is perfect, but the property is terrible.

We had a great time at the resort. Check in was very quick and they were very accomodating. We had a 1 bedroom and it was huge. They offered an extra bed for my daughter and it was a real bed which was very comfortable. The resort was a couple blocks from the main strip and it was great to be close to all the restaurants. On Thursday it there was a great walking farmer's market and it was so cool to find great souvenirs and crafts etc. There are a couple cons to the resort: 1) The room and... Read more

I am a California native since 1964, but this was my first trip to Palm Springs. Now I understand why so many Hollywood stars like Frank Sinatra had homes in Palm Springs to escape from the rat-race of the real world. My wife and I our owners with Diamond Resorts and we picked up a huge one-bedroom at the Marquis Villas for 50% off the normal points. I would have paid full price alone for the great location and the size of the one-bedroom. The resort is old but it is in the heart of down down ... Read more

This is the second time that I have stayed at this hotel. Both times were in the summer and the accommodations are very good but somewhat aged -- therefore remodeling. The room that I had was on the lobby level and consisted of a kitchen, large living room, large bedroom with a king size bed, and a bathroom area that consisted of a shower, a huge tub, and two toilets--much larger that you would find in the average hotel. Convenient underground parking. I knew that the hotel was undergoing re... Read more

The good: Huge rooms and a great location. The not so good: This place is dated, dirty, and run down. The elevators were not working, and apparently hadn't for some time. We actually never let housekeeping in the room. We figured we were better off without them trying to put the dirty bed spread, with food stuck to it, back on our bed. It's a huge room in a great location, but this place just reeks of despair.

While we were there, the only elevator was out of service. The room was very outdated, BUT they do have plans of updating in the near future. The staff was GREAT. They gave us great recommendations for places to eat and set us up with the greatest couples massage. Hopefully the updating with match the great service and then this really will be a Diamond Resort

We are members of Diamond Resorts and this property is part of our plan. We have stayed there several times and had positive experiences. This time we tried to check in early and the room wasn't ready. We were told by the front desk they would call us when the room was ready. Never received a call. The elevators were not working and the carpets in the hallways are worn and looked dirty.

Pro : Right downtown, grounds are kept up, nice work out room Cons: This place was bought out by Diamond a few years ago and now Diamond has been bought out. There is no money being put into this place which is bad. Elevators have been down for months and will not be open for months. The only access to the upstairs is through stairs that are located in the heat on the very outside of the building. Air conditioners cannot keep up because they are 30 plus years old. only 2 have ever been replaced... Read more

Across the street is the Hard Rock Hotel, down a block or two is a casino, one block away is the bars, restaurants, shops, etc. This place has a pool, exercise room, and very big rooms. Good location only a couple of blocks from the center of downtown Palm Springs. Nice-but-tired large room with separate living room, kitchen with full sized fridge, powder room and bathroom. Large balcony. Many longer term residents. Room smelled of last week's fried chicken. Elevator not working. Parking free but not secure. NB: 10am check-out time.

Big space for your money, a long stay would be very comfortable. The tv stand in the bedroom is really bulky for a flat screen. Some of the furniture is outdated but other than that, good place to stay.

We stayed for 4 nights and loved it. The place is nice and large. We got a 1 bedroom villa which had 2 bathrooms. One with shower and one with a good soaking tub. Full kitchen nicely stocked with all dinnerware, glasses and even pots and pans!! We went down to Albertsons and bought kabobs to grill. Called the office and locked in 6:30 for the grill. A couple of staff came out, lit the gas grill, and even provided grilling utensils!! What I really like is they do not have a bar, so you ca... Read more

We will be staying here again. Immediately booked a return trip! The great location is convenient to downtown Palm Springs and a block from the Gay bars, across the street is a movie house with 8 screens, next door to Sherman's Deli for breakfast or lunch, outdoor large pool, tennis courts. I could go on. The rooms/suite or Villa is probably about 1600 sf with a full and stocked kitchen, excluding food but you will find a corkscrew, flatware, dishes, dishwasher with soap, oven/stove, etc... ... We had a great stay at the Marquis Villas. Yes, the property is a bit older, but I love how big the room was and how close (walking distance) it was to the casino and the main drag. Wesley at the front desk was very friendly which was appreciated and check in/out was fast. The pool area is okay and unfortunately the jacuzzi was out the entire time we were there and only 1 elevator worked, so there was a bit of a wait. Stayed 2 nights during a visit to Los Angeles to stay with family. They brought us to Palm Springs and we absolutely fell in love with the place. The Marquis suites are amazing it's like a flat. The bathroom was out of this world. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could need. The closet in the bathroom was bigger than an average bathroom. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. If I had to mention anything then I would say The decor is a little dated but the more than ample acc... Read more

We wanted to get away for the night and do something cheap, because we were just in PS and stayed at one of the trendy party hotels that charge for everything. I was a little leery about the Marquis because the reviews seemed mixed and not overly favorable. But it was really nice!! The rooms are huge and clean and the kitchen has everything! It is a bit dated and there aren't any dj's at the pool, but there also weren't any guards checking our bags for drinks, making sure we bought over pric... Read more

Although the 'resort rooms' for resort owners are upgraded and in much better shape, the standard 'motel rooms' for non-owner guests are deplorable. The particular room for this stay had a broken TV and bedding that stank from mold and had to be removed and shoved in the closet. Although all was reported to the front desk, nothing was done. Although the night manager offered to comp a night for later in the week, the day manager refused to honor it. Although the day manager promised to issue... Read more

We found Marquis Villas through our vacation club. After reading some of the reviews on TripAdvisor I was a little apprehensive about staying there but decided to take a leap of faith (in our vacation club) and make reservations anyway. If you just accept that this place is older and you won't have the newest furniture you can appreciate how amazing it is to have a giant suite instead of a tiny fancy hotel room. For the same price as a hotel, if not cheaper, this place is incredible for a family trip. Separate rooms and so much room for activities!!!

First of all I have to say how great the staff are, their number one concern is you. With that being said, this place is very dated. The grounds themselves are well groomed and it looks if as more attention is given to them than the rooms. My husband called in advance to request a king size room (we booked through our vacation club) and was told they did not have any available until Sunday which was ok with us. We checked in and had a double twin bed room, the next day we were put in a king size... Read more

Online the pictures of the Marquiz Villas looked very nice. I had stayed there about 25 years ago so I was reticent about giving it another try so many years later. I called ahead because the website said that units had been undergoing ongoing renovations. I am always skeptical of situations like that. I was assured on the phone that the pool area was functional and that the units had fresh paint and carpet. I asked to not be directly next to an elevator or ice machine, but near to them wou... First of all - this is not a resort. If you ask me, is not even a hotel on the way it shows; it's more like a run down motel. The rooms on this hotel should not be up for rent (at least the room we got). Not only that everything is VERY old, but minimum that a hotel room should have is not meet. The bathroom is falling apart; paint is peeling, cabinets are in the worst shape, the shower is rusty. In the bedroom the bed skort is wrinkled beyond explanation, the mattress pad is stained, the car... Read more
