We talked our way into a larger, 1-bedroom suit rather than the studio. Nice upgrade! The room had a full kitchen with dining for 6 or 8. Our balcony overlooked the golf course, which we thought would be better than the pool. the rooms seem a bit dark, probably due to the covered balcony (to protect from the relentless sun!). We spoke to the timeshare sales reps, who were very courteous and in no-way pushy. Not a bad way to spend 4 days in the desert, but if you are not a golfer, plan to f... Read more

We really loved our stay here. Stopped off for a one night stay, we are used to staying in four star resorts but this hotel impressed me. Friendly staff, lovely villa rooms, really beautiful separate pool areas that are open 24 hrs. Fresh and yummy food from the Grill & Bar onsite (we went for Breakfast and Dinner). We ordered wedge salads and tortilla soup which were both great. Nice bar menu, I got a nice glass of Cabernet. Husband got the "Agave Moscow mule" Comfortable beds and quiet atmosph... Read more

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Westin Desert Willow. Before choosing this hotel, I was debating between this and the Westin Mission Hills. After reading multiple reviews I decided to go with WDW. I was a little hesitant as the pictures don't really make WDW that appealing for some reason (less resort feel?). The actual property is better seen in person than in pictures. Overall, the rooms and facilities seemed fairly new. We were in building 2 which is a close walking distance to the ma... Read more

My daughter and I wanted to get away from the craziness of life for a week. We enjoyed using the workout room, but were bummed that all of the cardio machines faced the windows, not the TV. We worked out in the morning and evenings. There was nothing to see but the pathway thought the windows. The TV option on the machines didn't work so we had to crane our necks to watch our favorite show while working out. (We aren't hard-core gym rats, just wanted some extra exercise.) The workout room was clo... Read more

This is our fifth visit to this property. My daughters (young adults) love it here so we always come back. Rates during the summer are great. If you go on a Sunday or Monday and leave on or before Friday, you can avoid the crowds. I recommend the Premium 1 bedroom villas with larger living area and full kitchen. The Agave restaurant has excellent food for the casual diner...check out the happy hour appetizer specials. We prefer to stay further out on the property near the Palo Verde Pool an... Read more

We just returned from the Desert Willows on June 18, 2016. This was the first stay for us at a Westin Villa resort. We have stayed at several of the Marriott Villa resorts in California, Hawaii and Arizona which we LOVE. We arrived on a Tuesday at 2pm and checked in at the front lobby. The front desk employee was nice, however, not full of much personality. Wasn't the best first impression, but we were still optimistic. We were told that our room wasn't ready, but would be ready by 4pm. ... Read more

This hotel has a great location in Palm Desert in a quiet area, but only few minute drive to Indian Wells or Palm Springs for great restaurants. Pool area is fun with a great waterslide. Rooms are fantastic and spacious! Third time staying here and can't wait to come back.

We stayed here one night recently during the heat wave. The property is under construction and we stayed in building 8. The property seems nice and will offer plenty of places to lounge when the temps cool down in the fall or spring. Pulling in was a minor inconvenience, there were a few young staff workers waiting for me to get of the truck to tell me I had to move it from the check in area into the sun to keep the drive open for golf carts... with a baby in 123*F heat I was hoping to keep hi... While on a mother daughter trip with my daughter. We stayed at the Westin Desert Willow Villas. As a SPG member as well as Westin property owner. I try to stay at properties in the SPG profile. This location was perfect!! I felt very safe and the grounds were perfect! One night after getting back from Disneyland in the early morning hours, all of the parking spots next to our room were taken. The security guard was so nice that he let me park my car next to the security garage door and escorted ... Read more

I have been here 3 times and have always enjoyed my stay here. This last trip was great, the kids love the waterslide and the activities that the hotel has planned. They also had s'mores in the afternoon for a small fee that the kids loved. The employees by the pool were always very attentive and friendly. I love that they have small breaks by having everyone empty the pool to relax for a bit and re-apply sunscreen. Theres also a Ralph's about 2 blocks away to stock up on snacks or grocerie... First, the bad. We arrived at 2:00 pm to check in on July 3rd, and were told that our room wasn't ready and that we could wait in the lobby or the pool area and they'd call us when the room was ready. At 3:30 we checked back with the desk, and still no room (they promise a 4:00 pm check in). At 3:50 went back to the front desk, and still no room, and housekeeping was working on some rooms but didn't have a time frame. We finally got our villa at 4:30 pm! We stayed at the Westin Desert Willow Villas this past week and had a very enjoyable stay. The resort itself is beautiful. The room was very clean and cozy. We had two adjoining rooms and it worked perfectly for our family. The service was top notch. From the moment we checked in everybody we came into contact with was helpful and friendly. The food at the resort was delicious. Everything we had was fresh and tasty. I saw on some of the other reviews that people had to wait a long time for rides... Read more

They gave us a pool key and called us about an hour later. Our room exceeded every expectation. I stayed couple times this year and I love it. Service is incredible and the hotel rooms are spacious and clean. My room had a kitchen that becomes really useful when traveling with kids. My two sons love all pools, especially the one with the water slide.

Stayed in a first floor villa with kitchenette in building 3. Kitchen had all the basics in terms of cookware, plates, utensils, etc. Building 3 is in a good location between the family pool and main building where most of the amenities are. Nice, updated facilities, especially the pools. Only complaint was that the room was a bit dark. Requested a room on an upper floor but was not accommodated because the property was sold out.

This property has continued to grow in recent years and this was our favorite stay there so far. As always, staff was fantastic. The villas are a great size and decorated very tastefully. They have added new pools and pool bars which makes the resort more of a destination. We came during the off Season and still had plenty to do! Kit, the concierge who helped us, was our favorite part of our stay. She genuinely wanted to make our visit memorable.

Maybe it was just us, but it sure did seem like the newer Westin Desert Willow Villas are not built as good as the slightly older Westin Villas. The walls were very thin, we could hear every movement outside our windows and footsteps from above from even smaller children. The kitchen seemed sparse compared to other Villas we have stayed in, too. We stayed in Building 2 on the ground floor corner unit. At first I thought this would be nice, but being near the entrance was not so good. We he... Read more

I had a business trip and booked The Westin Desert Willow Villas last minute because our main hotel was fully booked. I arrived late (after 10pm) and was greeted by a friendly staff. Finding the lobby was complicated and probably was the toughest part of my experience lol. I was not aware that the property is also a time share so the restaurant (only one restaurant I believe) closes at 9pm and pretty much everything closes at 9pm at the resort). It was scarily quiet if you like quite. The g... Read more

The Westin Desert Willow Resort is a great calm place to go with the family. It isn't too crowded but there's just enough people that you feel like you're not on an isolated retreat. If you're looking for a busier and more lively resort, checkout the Westin Mission Hills. They're less than a mile from each other but equally great places to stay with the family. Upon arrival they hand you a schedule of fun activities and events that the hotel offers during the week. A lot of the activities are fr... Read more

Place is great. Tennis, workout room, bar, grounds are beautiful and if you love to golf you sit on the golf course! One issue is the pool. There is an "adult" pool and a "family friendly" pool- they are right next to each other so if you don't like noise then too bad. Down side is you need to rent a car because these villas are as far away as you can get to the restaurants and shopping and it's way too hot to walk. Overall, its a nice vacation spot. The villas offer laundry rooms too!

We just returned from a week long trip. We stayed on points from family members we were traveling with, so we only had to pay for food and drinks, which were expensive! (I guess that's to be expected though.) We had a premium villa with a full kitchen, so we cooked and ate breakfast and lunch in our room most of the time. We went to dinner at the Agave Grill only twice and ate out at local restaurants the rest of the nights. All of the pools were so different and great, we spent time at all of t... Read more

There are 2 pools in the lower level. One for the slide and one for swimming. Then there is an upper pool. The quiet pool. Both the quite pool and the 2nd lower pool have cabanas. The slide is good size and has an attendant up top and a life guard at the bottom. Great pool area. There are cabanas at both the upper and lower pools.

Rooms are nice. Our family of 5 stayed in a 1 bedroom unit that had a sofa bed and room for our blow up mattress. Full amenities inside room with basic kitchen. Only issue would be the bathroom does not have any cabinet or counter space to put your stuff on. We had to put almost everything on the ground. The pools are great and the water slide is a lot of fun. The grounds are beautiful.

The resort is semi-new, although still under constriction that was a non issue. We spent four days, in the one bedroom villa and totally enjoyed the typical 110 F Palm Desert climate. PROS: Four different pool areas, with one area open 24 hours. You are allowed a small cooler, snacks, etc, but no "alcohol container" in pool area. The resort is mid point between a Ralphs and Albertsons grocery stores. 9 minutes away you can catch a movie at Regal Cinema 16, Sams, Costco nearby. The staff at ... Read more

I liked that they have many pools, but if a pool is supposed to be quiet, you need to have someone tell kids not to go there, or, more logically, it should be an adults only pool there is only one restaurant and no massage or spa on sight
