Our family of 6 stayed here multiple times this year. If you want a home instead of a hotel room (at the same cost as a hotel room!!), with laundry and hot tubs and multiple bathrooms and super clean and quality amenities, this is the place to be. It is also about 30 seconds to walk to the beach. Unbelievable.

Enjoyed my stay at Channel Islands Resort, and hope to go back again. 1 BR condo (upstairs, over the garages) was spacious, clean, comfortable, and well stocked with linens, kitchen supplies, etc. Hot tub on the deck was lovely! Very clean and pleasant to sit out under the stars and listen to the waves hit the shore. This is a small resort, really just a group of condos, in a quiet residential neighborhood a few doors from a wonderful sandy beach. Great for adults or families looking fo... Read more

We were pleasantly surprised to find this nice, clean and quiet gem while in town for a wedding. Two story with two master bedrooms upstairs. Kitchen, family room, bathroom, washer & dryer downstairs. Bonus was the hot tub on the patio. We will definitely come back!

This unit was perfect for a stay by the beach. Not luxurious, but clean and comfortable with nice extras. The unit was a bit dated but had all the conveniences including regular sized fridge, stove, and microwave. It is a timeshare condo with place settings, dining table, cooking utensils, etc. The living room had a pull out sofa bed and a tv with vcr/dvd player where my girls watched their 4 free dvds with free popcorn provided by the office AND a complimentary bag of microwave popcorn too.... CIS was a great find for our type of resort-quaint, small, non-commercial, convenient to a deserted beach, wonderful park with playground for children & great restaurants. Most condos have a hot tub on patio as well as a gas grill. Don't think units have AC, but not sure. It was very cool, sunny & breezy during the last week of May. Mrs Olson's is a "not-to-be-missed" cafe on the CI Harbor, open 7-2. Go VERY HUNGRY or plan to take home food. Also loved the unusual menu at Brazilian Grill, o... Read more

My vacation was spent in a one-bedroom condo that was clean, well-equipped, modern, and peaceful. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and if I needed something, it was delivered to me immediately. While I didn't participate in the resort activities, I did see others participating and enjoying themselves. The ocean was less than a block away, and I had a lovely view from my patio. Oh! Did I mention the hot tub? It was heavenly. It was tested on a daily basis, so I had no fear of hopping ... Read more

We spent 4 nights there and came home completely recharged. The unit has everything you need. We brought nothing except beach towels. The office has extras such as beach chairs, dvds, books. VONS is nearby. After 3 nights they were suppose to puck up trasg but did not. This was a relatively small omition, the reating is still "excellent".

Lodging in California is expensive so we felt lucky to find the condo at such an affordable price for so much. It is so close to the beach which is very nice and not crowded. See our sunset picture below. Oxnard is right between everything we wanted to see along the central coast. Recommend the tar pit beach for interest and a cool dip. Ventura was fun and close by. Have to go to Aloha on the promenade for a really nice dinner.

We stayed at the resort for a week and had a wonderful vacation. The 1 BDRM condo was spacious and comfortable. The location was perfect with the shops, stores, and the harbor so close by it was easy to get overwhelmed as far as choosing what to do. Staff was extremely welcoming and they had everything you needed for a beach getaway.

I never knew this area existed! What a great alternative to the highly commercial, crowded and expensive areas in Ventura and Santa Barbara. It doesn't have the hills to hike in, but if you're here for the beach it's perfect. The condo we stayed in was a 1 bedroom with a full kitchen, dining area, living room and big bedroom. Also there was a private deck with a grill and hot tub. All for less than we would have paid for a small hotel room near the beach in Ventura! It's about a half blo... Read more

This was our third visit to Channel Islands Shores and we enjoyed it even more than before! Each time we have discovered more attractions in this beautiful part of the California coast. At the resort, we love the proximity to the beach, the friendly helpful staff and the harbor and park within walking distance. This time we also visited Santa Barbara and spent time in Ventura but our favorite spot was our "home away from home" in Oxnard! Great place for a family vacation!

The area is really dirty, the beach is quiet but there's a reason. It was so windy we couldn't even spend longer than 10 minutes down there. There really was nothing to do if you couldn't go to the beach so we left early even though we had paid for two nights. I will never go back. It was a waste of $681 which is what it ended up costing. Far too much!!

The unit DOES NOT HAVE air conditioning; so you open the windows and being a street over from the ocean, leaves everything damp. The smoke detectors work really well though - my husband made toast on the first morning and set it off. He made his toast in the half bath on the main floor not for the rest of the week. They promise trash collection once - never happened, again my husband had to take it out. We are RCI members and there was a 13.00 "resort fee" ? The bathrooms are circa 1980's. The o... Read more

This a great resort in a perfect location. Beach is a very short walk. This location works as a great base if you are sightseeing L.A., Hollywood, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Solvang or any of the cute quaint towns in this area. The units are large, updated & most important clean. Staff is very friendly & professional. You won't be disappointed.

My family and I have stayed here a couple of weekends so far. Great place to stay in! Great service, friendly staff, great location, various shopping plazas and restaurants close by, not to mention just a few steps to the beach! If you live in a noisy city like I do, the beach resort is such a nice vacation getaway.

We loving visiting here as a family. You get the close beach, the open space, (for a family of four you need it) And the staff is always friendly. They have fun activities and supplies for the beach that you just need to ask for :) I love having our on backyard space and grocery isn't far. I notices they have new couches since the last time we visited that are very nice. All in all great trip! Thank you Channel Island Shores we will be back again soon.
