It was very enjoyable, we had a room with ocean view, it was right in front of the beach, free drinks in the afternoon, it's a good small getaway for a mini vacation. plus they have an underground garage. You park under your room, I was going to do ballet parking but it was so easy to get in and out, we passed on it. Plus the installations are very pretty, they have cascades and pounds, it gives a whimsical feel.

My husband surprised me by having us stay here the day we got married! I was amazed that our room not only had an ocean view, you could literally walk down to the beach in 2 minutes! It was a really nice place, well kept, and very clean. Great customer service and the breakfast buffet was delicious, not to mention free! We felt like we were out of town even though we were only minutes from home. We will definitely be coming back some time, maybe on our one year anniversary...:)

While the beachfront location is lovely, the service at this hotel was just all around poor. The front desk staff were very UN-helpful, and failed to provide any relevant info about the amenities available. Our room was not ready at check-in time, and no attempt was made to find us a different room that was available (on a Tuesday, no less). There were no towels at the pool, breakfast was cold and under-serviced. Also the garage and elevator areas smelled like a sewer. I would not be likely to s... Read more

I recently stayed here mid-week while on a business trip to the area. The location is nice and quiet, facing the beach and the ocean. The property looks impressive as one approaches, and seems sprawling with rooms grouped around two or more courtyards. It appears to be an older property, and to me the exterior looked quite dated and in need of an update. My room (or suite rather) however, was clean, spacious, and nicely decorated and equipped. The only downside was that the room on the 2nd flo... Read more

The rooms were spacious and comfortable, but tended to have a musty smell. The food in the bar was okay, but nothing special. However, the breakfast buffet was tasty and well-maintained. I was in an outer building so it seemed to take a long time to get from my room to the main building. Sunset was beautiful!

I stayed at Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach in Oxnard, California, about a year and a half ago. This time was even nicer than before. The beachfront location is unbelievable--you can hear the waves crashing on the sand. The personnel are friendly and warm. Our room had two bathrooms, a large bedroom, and a separate living area. The bedroom and living area have separate entrances to a balcony, which had three chairs and a table. We definitely used the mini fridge! The evening receptions were well a... Read more

On our entry, our bathroom smelled like mildew, like a towel which has been wet for a long time. The room was otherwise functional, and we enjoyed having a refrigerator and microwave. It is so busy there on holiday weekends that you are in a bit of a cattle car. At breakfast, they would run out of popular items and not have adequate staff for timely replenishment. Same with al the dribs and drabs from spills all over the food service and eating areas. And because of the crush, the management als... Read more

Booked a room for two nights to attend a wedding at the resort. Room was fine, clean. The hallway leading to the room overlooked the banquet load in area, which was a bit strange. Overall the hotel was fine. Service overall was pleasant, but slow. Breakfast was a huge crush of people and the food was mediocre (the omelet guy was really sweet though). And no room service breakfast available. The first night we had people walking around the room above us until the wee hours. The second night... Read more

Been going here for the last 15 years and I have to say thank you to Erica at the front desk for making the last trip best one yet. Its nice to see someone so passionate about what they do. Thank you for making our family vacation a success with your beautiful resort. The property is beautiful and well equipped. There are two hot tubs, a pool, tennis court, and basketball courts. The room was large and th furnishings were up-to-date. However, not sure it lives up to the Hilton brand. We had little to no hot water for our three day stay. We reported it several times and it never got addressed. The hotel is in a perfect location. It is great for adults and children. The problem is for a family, the sink and refrigerator are ridiculously small. The grounds are beautiful. We stayed on the 1st floor this time and won't ever do that again. It's great if you have kids but we prefer the 2nd or 3rd floors as a couple.

We went up last weekend for a get away from heat. The Hilton website does not do a good job of telling you the options here and if uninformed, one may end up with a poor room with no view whatever. Also, at the front desk you are immediately upsold to get what you thought you had reserved. As with my last couple stays with Embassy Suites, the property is older and not really clean. This hotel has two sides to it. The courtyard, pool area is extremely packed, chaotic and loud. Very touristy with lots of families, kids and music. This is a resort property--we paid $9 extra for a first floor room with an ocean view. They have a big swimming pool surrounded by waterfalls and palm trees. Very relaxing setting. Self-park in their underground garage, or select valet parking--there is a charge for both. This is not your typical Embassy Suites--it's laid out on an extensive and landscaped property. Our room was a suite with separate living rooms, two bulls baths, and a dining area. We hope to return.

Attended a wedding in Oxnard over the weekend, and stayed at Embassy Suites/Mandalay Beach. Love seeing the pounding waves first thing every day. Hotel well-appointed, coming from the Hilton family, I would expect nothing less. For as many people that were there (hotel was sold out for 2 weddings and a medical conference), it was nice & quiet at night. Underground parking was convenient. Included breakfast every day & an evening reception as well.

We went to the Embassy suites to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary. Everything was perfect; the beautiful location, the clean and spacious rooms that even included a microwave and refrigerator, sounds of waterfalls everywhere, the free breakfast that was more like a restaurant brunch and the gracious hospitality of Ms. Thiare and the Frontdesk. They truly made me feel like an honored guest.

As resident of the landlocked Central Valley we just wanted to spend on night listening to the roar of the ocean before going back up for a couple of nights in Santa Barbara. This was the only decent place we could find. We were very positively surprised. Parking was superb (don't even consider valet parking)! You drive under the hotel to a color- coded location closest to the elevator to your room. Very accessible, well lighted, secured, dry and easy in and out. Our beach front suite was ... Read more

Diamond reviewer. We arrived pretty late and I was given a room I the 800 building who's 'resort view'was literally a view of the elevator. A call to the desk and they gave us a different room on the ground floor of the 200 building which was better. but the room strongly smelled of cleaner and the shower had cracks and age all around. But the tub was clean, the bedding fresh and new so our two nights there ended up ok per me. Definitely one of the most tired embassy suites I've stayed at b... Read more

This Embassy Suites hotel is right on the beach at Mandalay Bay. There is a wide, private beach with a nice bike path (bike rentals available) and the beautiful Pacific is spread out before you. The Channel Islands Marina is very close (walking distance if you like to walk) and there is a beautiful park in the other direction. The decor definitely needs an upgrade from dull, depressing brown and beige. It is a little too "down in the heels" to be considered a luxury resort. The rooms are com... Read more

I don't what you've been told, but Oxnard in November isn't cold, sound off, eighty degree weather, sound off, beachy weather. I loved being able to celebrate my birthday at this hotel, and the ocean front view wasn't too shabby either. Check in was easy peasy lemon squeezy, the girl upgraded us and this birthday girl was and is very grateful. If you are looking for fun in the sun this is the place to stay, with free happy hour, pool and jacuzzis, family room (with foosball table, televisions, ping ... Read more

Love this place. Very beautiful and right on the beach. Sunsets from the balconies, and beautiful garden views. The pool and 2 jacuzzis were very inviting, with a nice splash bar just steps from the water.

So my room/suite was recently remodeled and it had nice amenities. The two room suite is always over kill when I am on travel by myself but perfect when it is the family of 5! Great breakfast included in the price always makes it worth spending a couple extra dollars to feed the whole family. plus the place ha sits own beach access and it own pool if the ocean is too cold. I go out of my way to stay here when I am in the Ventura/Oxnard/Camarillo area

We came here to take a breather from the Camarillo Outlet which is nearby (11 mi). The hotel is grand and gives a good impression at first. Have valet parking. The receptionists are very helpful, but i had already booked online and that made things easier. The rooms were very spacious, large beds, extra room with a sofa, large kitchenette, two bathrooms, one with a tub,& and another with a standing shower. We chose the room at ground level, and had our balcony as a terrace. With out compliment... Read more

Stayed here this Summer on a short vacation to LA area, and wanted a more out-of-the-way place that had beachfront access. This property was perfect that way - in Oxnard so not completely isolated, yet far enough removed from the main city busy-ness to be a bit more relaxing. The property sits on an absolutely fantastic stretch of beach - dunes and white sand, kept very clean and plenty of beach before you get to the ocean front. This was a pleasant surprise, had low expectations given other ... Read more

I have stayed all over the world,in many hotel chains, but this trip is the absolute worst.I took my family for our yearly Thanksgiving weekend retreat to a hotel we have stayed at more than a dozen times over its long history. We convinced 5 other families to join us as well, with a total of 10 rooms. I reserved over 6 months ago and my wife has been in communication with them once or twice a month to make sure we had the right building for our family. We have 9 grandchildren coming and they ne... A resort hotel with the management style of a Motel 6. So disappointed. Thanksgiving/birthday stay. We paid for a resort view - got an ocean view. Sounds great, but we were put in Bldg 2, which is the step-child of the resort. As you make your way to the back 40, the scenery changes from lush gardens to barren through-ways, and you end up at the dog park. Yes, you can see the ocean, but as you look out your windows, you get to see the big dog taking a poop on your lawn in front of your pat... Read more

I put this hotel 1 step above a Johannesburg shanty. Not because it is in squalor; rather, because it is mismanaged, ran-down, overpriced and lacks any modicum of customer service: * We paid extra for a "deluxe room" and booked through Hilton Honors -- we expected a decent room -- nothing amazing, just clean, quiet and safe. Our room was literally in the back of a hallway with a walkway outside of our bedroom window. Our "balcony" literally connected to a covered walkway (mind you we were ... Read more

Wife, adult daughter and myself stayed here the week before Thanksgiving. Resort was well kept, well appointed, and staff was great. The resort is actually on the beach unlike others that require you to cross a highway or busy street. We were on the third floor with an ocean view. This hotel is on the beach with beautiful pool, hot tub, lobby and gardens. We loved our ocean front views, the lively pool scene and the complimentary breakfast. Our room was spacious with 2 bathrooms and a large patio to take in the ocean view. The room itself is a little tired, sagging sofa, rusty exterior sliding doors and old carpet. It could definitely use refreshing.

Stayed here for a couple of nights with the family and had quite a few bad experiences. When checking in, I was told that the room would be ready in a 15 minutes and to just stop by the side window after getting a confirmation text to pick up the keys so that I would not have to wait in line again. While waiting in the side window, the youngish supervisor in the suit rudely told me I had to wait in line like everyone else. Another example of poor management is that the towels in the pool area... Read more

I got a text at 7:51 am from Vanessa waking me. She wanted to know if there was anything she could do for us, I asked if we could get a view of the ocean (our booking was for one of the lowest occupancy days of the year). When I arrived I was told only one upgrade would be given to resort view (even tho I was told by front desk that the hotel was empty). I had to wait in the lobby to speak to the manager Luke, about 20 mins. latter waiting to talk to Luke, he said this would not be a problem. Th... Read more
