Second Time Staying at this hotel. Stayed Premium Club Level Month of May Okay I will admit this is not a biased review, it is a review based on experience with Disney. Please let me provide a bit of background, stayed at most deluxe Disney hotels in Fla and Ca. Beach Club is my all time favorite, until our second stay at Dland Hotel, the OG. The rooms are AWESOME. They are huge and can fit a family of four comfortably, they are clean, they are themed. Of course I play the Resort Video Guide the... Read more

This was our first trip with a 3.5 yr old to Disneyland. We checked in quite late (11pm) and it was a bit confusing as there was no one at the gate and nothing was coming out of the ticket machine. So, we just pulled forward. Short term parking is still a bit of a haul if you have luggage and a kiddo and no help was to be found. Somehow we dragged it all over. At check-in, I was a bit frustrated with the staff person that assisted me because she just wanted to hand me a bunch of papers and se... Read more

We decided to stay at the Disneyland Hotel because of the iconic nature of this property. I first visited this hotel in 1975 on my first visit to the USA and Disneyland. My friend and I rode the monorail into the Hotel lobby and were enthralled. We had never seen anything like this hotel, we were, of course young and poor and were staying in one of the cheaper properties in the area. The next time I visited Disneyland was with my husband and children in 1991. We still couldn't afford to stay a... Read more

It was my 2 1/2 years old first Disneyland visit, and my first return after 8 years. We decided to stay at Disneyland hotel because it is close to the parks, and we were hoping for the Disney experience here. Our room is spacious and had a nice view of the swimming pool. The staff were nice. The pool, kid water slide and hot tub were great. The distance to the park down town Disneyland was great. But it is lacking the magical experience I was hoping for. This was just an average 3.5-4 stars hote... Read more

Stayed here for a week to attend a business conference. It was a beautiful resort. The rooms were nice and full of Disney finishing touches. The pool areas and bar were fantastic. Conference facilities were nice, all the meals were great. I would love to go back with my family and enjoy the area for pleasure soon!!

We had a room in the adventure tower overlooking the main pool. the rooms are very spacious and bathrooms are huge, the beds are comfortable. My son went to look for the pop machines and get us some drinks but he needed change, instead of giving him change for his 10.00 they just asked him what he was needing and gave him a ice bucket full of pops for us for free. The walk to the park is short. The kids met 5 different characters in the lobby, and we also had breakfast at goofys kitchen. The p... Read more

This was my family's first stay at the Disneyland Hotel. We just loved the whole experience. We were there for our daughter's dance competition. The atmosphere at the hotel is great. The room was fabulous. Our view was of Downtown Disney. Even though there were long waits at the elevator it still did not spoil our stay here. We definitely will be staying here again next year.

We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel for Mother's Day weekend. We were there for the Tinkerbell Half Marathon. I had stayed at the Disneyland hotel back in 1976 and had such wonderful memories of the monorail and how beautiful the hotel was so we decided to splurge and pay the higher price for this hotel. Check in was fast and easy. The hotel was completely booked and our room was not ready. We were traveling with my 5 year old niece. The agent asked if it was her first visit and who her favorite ... While in CA visiting some relatives, my 9yo and I spent 3 nights at DL hotel. We stayed in one of the Concierge rooms at the hotel and were able to enjoy the lounge in the hotel. Our room was generously spacious for the two of us, and would have been still very roomy if the rest of my family had been with us. The room was spotless, and we only had an issue with one drawer in the dresser that did not want to stay shut. Given the placement of the dresser, it was a potential hazard since it wo... Read more

I grew up in Arizona, frequenting Disneyland- never stayed at the hotel, but was always walking around the grounds and shopping. Then I started going to Orlando, stayed onsite multiple times. Now, when I returned to DLH, I was disappointed. The grounds were nice and well kept, but not special. The rooms had hidden Mickeys and a few nice touches, but not Magic. If it wasn't for the cast member discount, it would be way too expensive for what we got. Maybe the Frontier Tower was old, but I wa... Read more

Pros: The rooms were clean and the pool area was well maintained. The location is great for people that can handle some walking since you can walk through Downtown Disney into the parks. We also used the monorail which was convenient. The monorail slides were fun. Cons: The pool area needed a water station. The in-room dining food was bland.

Stayed 4 nights at this iconic property. *Main lobby was meh. Check-in line was slow but Cast were great. *Location is fantastic with a short walk to monorail or both park entrances. *Had a premium downtown Disney view in adventure tower which allowed for fireworks viewing. *CAUTION: Live music each night outside of ESPN is loud and can easily be heard in these rooms. It ends at 10pm. *Reasonable view from 7th floor but you'll want higher to get above trees blocking some views. *Elevators are sl... Read more

We stayed 7 nights in a 2 bedroom suite (one king, 2 queens, and a pull out sofa). We had plenty of room for the 7 of us. It is basically a one bedroom suite with an adjoining standard room. We were in the Fantasy Tower with a view of the fireworks. No complaints! We loved this room. (well...maybe one! Why no microwave Disney???). Our family left and we stayed a little longer, so we checked into a standard room overlooking the pool. Rm. 2034 had no hot water and the tub drain wasn't working w... Read more

Our family enjoyed a 4 night Disneyland Resort stay at the Disneyland Hotel in June. We stayed in the concierge portion of the Adventure Tower and it was very nice. At check in, a friendly cast member, A.J., took us to the E Ticket Club room to explain things about the hotel and parks. Although we had booked a standard pool/garden view room, we were upgraded to what Disney called a Downtown Disney view room. We found that this description was not accurate. The view actually was of Disneyland!. T... Read more

Stayed two nights at this hotel in with my family. Services rendered were good. The view was great since it enabled us to watch the fireworks from our room since it facing Disneyland. Rooms are clean and spacious. The food was really good. Friendly staffs and nice reception. If come back to Disneyland in future, this hotel would certainly be our first choice for accommodations.

We stayed here to splurge and get the magic hour and it was the last hotel on property that was available. Only through Trip Advisor though. The property itself was sold out if you called them directly. The room was comfortable although I wish we had been able to get a view over the Disney Downtown area where we would have been able to see the fireworks too. There was a great cut through to the CA Adventure Park through the Grand Californian entrance to the park. It's good to get there early to... Read more

The one-bedroom suites are large and comfortable. The queen sofa bed is comfortable. (I love the smell of the complimentary shampoo and conditioner.) Staying in a Disney hotel comes with perks - like complimentary monorail rides into Disneyland. The hotels are also adjacent to the parks - convenient when you have a tired family.

Staying with Disney makes you part of the magic 24/7 but when the magic starts to show its age it can be a little bit of a let down. Disney stands for so many good things but to neglect basic maintenance will only come back to bite in the end

Grand building, great service and staff, and wonderful family themes. A touch of pixy dust around every corner., from nice displays of the magic Kingdom Castle in the main lobby to a Disney character buffet. Wifi available throughout the entire resort, Tiki bar and a giant pool themed to the Disneyland monorail just behind the resort in a courtyard setting.

Beds were very comfortable. We all loved the castle carved headboard that lit up and played music. Before I start reviewing, I have to say that the whole experience is indeed Magical. With all the crowds, and the lines, and the little disappointment I'm going to express, it was still an experience we will never forget. It's Disney after all, the home of Magic that made us all dream growing up. I wanted this to be as perfect as possible. So before I booked I called the Disney hotline for information, and then went into chat with one of their support officers on their website to get the best a... Read more

We stayed in the Adventure Tower and the room itself was fine. We had a king sized bed and there was still lots of space to move even with our luggage. There's a mini fridge that comes in handy. As for the bathroom, it wasn't particularly well lit even after their recent renovations. The pool and landscaping around the resort was fantastic. There's a hot tub but it's always packed! we just finished a 5 night stay at this hotel. The pool for the kids and the proximity to the park is the only advantage. Our room is just an average hotel room despite being 450+ per night, the carpet was actually sticky in areas. we had to put towels down or wear socks...but the aspect that killed it for us was the noise. you can hear the noise at the pool until very late and the music they pump around the grounds 24/7 can be heard in the room. We paid $1,200 a night for a two bedroom suite. For that nightly rate, the nightstand should have outlets in them. I shouldn't have to pull furniture away from the wall and unplug the alarm clock just so I can charge my phone on my nightstand. They should include qtips and cotton balls etc with the toiletries. There should be turn down service. Disney knows they have a captive audience and gets away with offering basic hotel services at a high price. My kids did love the characters breakfa... Read more

So if you have never been to the Original Disneyland resort it is important that you understand this is a very compact resort and this is one of only three official Disney Hotels. You Could definitely stay at what are considered "Good Neighbor" hotels some of which offer shuttles to the property. From the great swimming pools to the friendly staff & great breakfast in the quiet restaurant to the hidden Mickey's in our bathroom, this place was a delight!!! Well overpriced. Adequate accommodation but not worthy of its price. We had no chair in the room, rang the front desk to ask why not and were told that no chairs were providedn in any room. Fair enough. Until housekeeping checked that everything was OK a few minutes later and ... We got a chair and apology for front desk inaccuracy (!) Go figure. Ifyou're moneys to burn, stay here. If you're not, don't. You'll be disappointed.

I stay here a lot - it's less expensive than the Grand Californian and you can use their private access to the park (and use their pools, spa, etc. if you like). Pros include: themed buildings," firework s"headboards, character interaction, Trader Sam's by the pool (have to go into the bar for the "show"), and access to other Disney hotel amenities. Cons are that the pool area is small and always crowded, and it is a bit of a hike through Downtown Disney to the parks...

I got to stay with a friend who works at Disney World. He got a great rate. We had a basic view of the parking lot, but being close to the park was worth it. We were able to come back when we were tired to take a break before heading back to the parks for the night time shows. The beds were super comfy, even the pull out sofa bed.
