This hotel is right off the freeway, and I cannot tell a lie, you do hear some noise. But the rest of what they had to offer was terrific. After almost a week on the road, this Ayres Hotel was just what we needed. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, same for the breakfast/snack area. We arrived just as they started serving some dinner time snacks and also enjoyed the chocolate cake and cookies in the lobby. Upstairs to the showers we went, in our jammies to watch Wheel an... The Ayers Hotel in Barstow is very clean, comfortable and conveniently located near major restaurants and coffee spots. The saff is friendly and courteous and the breakfast is great. Love the "always available" cookies as well.

Started out bad when we were told our confirmed reservation of connecting rooms wasn't available. We made reservations directly with the hotel for two connecting rooms as we had 4 10 year old grandchildren with us. We were assured the connecting rooms were available On arrival we were told they didn't have connecting rooms available and that we should have been told that only we could request connecting rooms and they do t guarantee them because they could have electrical problems and they m... Our film crew had come by Barstow a few days ago and stayed in a Best Western there. We were back and chose Ayres instead. Nice clean hotel with a slight european look, it surpasses BW by far. And it is slightly less costly - been though it is far from the train yard where we were stationed. Very modern, well designed, relatively large and comfortable rooms. Pleasant personnel. The only down side is that it is situated in a totally artificial district, in the middle of some "outlets" shopping a... Read more

We truly enjoyed our two nights at this hotel. The complimentary breakfast exceeded expectations. The location is super accessible. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well apportioned. My only gripe would be that there was a name change after we booked and we didn't know about it, making it initially difficult to locate.

I booked this hotel because it was previously a Country Inn & Suite by Carlson. Check-in was swift and smooth. The room was spacious, quiet and immaculately clean. Great location with lots of places to eat nearby. For those that care the wi-fi was more than adequate.

This place is really terrific. The people at the front desk are really nice and are very accommodating. The rooms are really nice - a great value. The lobby is a fun place to meet in the morning and evenings for FREE breakfast and evening snacks and drinks. AND they have DirecTV with tons of channels. First hotel I've ever been in with DirecTV. Will definitely stay there every time I'm in Barstow.

Absolutely, one of the best hotel experiences I have had; the staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were newer and clean. the only problem I encountered was that I had booked a Country Inn and the name had changed to Ayers, which was no problem once I figured it out. I would recommend this hotel.

We would definitely stay here again!! It was bright, warm, safe, comfortable, and CLEAN! A little above our desired budget, but well worth the price. My only suggestion would be to extend their delicious and generous full breakfast a little later than 9:30. We were very sleepy after our emergency, past midnight stay, and would have liked to sleep a little later. ;0) The Staff were wonderful too!!!

We drove from Las Vegas to Los Angeles and due to some traffic we decided to stay a night in Barstow. The hotel is just amazing, we checked in really late after a long day and we were still able to enjoy the very nice pool/spa area which has very flexible opening hours and for us a huge positive surprise after a long day driving. Excellent service. Fantastically clean, wonderful hotel! Friendly staff, fast check/in. This hotel is truly a great stopover hotel. Nothing bad to say! Great breakfast after a good night's sleep. The hotel has a good pool and workout area. Free parking is good and the outlets are worth taking a walk around. We stayed as we were passing through on way back from Las Vegas to LA. Good meal option is opposite - called Chillis. Friendly staff and good food.

We had a one-night stopover in Barstow toward the end of a two month motorhome journey that took us from our home in North Carolina all the way to the west coast of Canada via the the northern states and back again across the south via I-40. I usually stay at this motel when in town, because it's clean, and handy for me. They also have a place where I can get water for the bulls, if I have any on the trailer, although I do have to cross the street and sometimes, it is busy. Also, this motel had changed ownership since my last stay, and is somewhat more expensive.

Was in Barstow for the commemoration festivities for Science on a Sphere. Fascinating exhibit at the Harvey House relating to space exploration and coordinated with NASA. Clean, updated, friendly staff, good location (walking distance to shopping and restaurants), free coffee/tea and cookies were always out, and the morning breakfast was good. We opted for the restaurant since we were famished, but would have tried some any other time. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

compared to the previous hotel some things need to be updated to reflect the prior hotel's operations: 1. Check-out should be automatic with statement delivered to the room showing a 0 balance on day of departure; not done at the counter with a line of people. 2. Continue with the "travel bag" given to departing guests containing an apple, water, and an energy bar - nice touch. But a good job all around

I stopped real late, not expecting to get a room at such an obvious swanky hotel. I got off the bike about 1200a, wondered into the lobby and found the friendliest, helpful person for such a late hour. The room rate was reasonable ($90). The room was clean, bed linens fresh and the bathroom was spotless. One of the most enjoyable night I've had in a long time. The A/C was controlled by wall thermostat but was totally configurable. Cuddos to the staff and management!

In fact we had a baby with us and a 2 year old and all slept very well. We were upgraded when we arrived and had a triple queen room (I didn't know they even existed) and found it to be very well cared for and clean. We ate a very nice breakfast that wasn't like most hotel "free" breakfast but they had eggs sausage biscuits and cereals quite a bit. Easy access from I-15 and in a safe area.

My room was very clean, nice and spacious. However the freeway noise was really bad, and the walls are thinner than I would expect for a hotel of this quality. While in the bathroom, I could actually hear someone above or next to my room using their bathroom. When I checked in, I was told there would be a free taco bar from 5:30-7pm, but when I went downstairs at 6, all the food was gone and I was advised that when they run out, it's over. Stayed 2 nights in a row and each day key card shuts off 45 minutes before check out time. Have to go to front desk, wait in line as others are trying to check out and get the key card turned back on, just to finish loading up baggage. For that annoyance, cannot rate this stay as "excellent" but as "poor".
