I need to use handicapped parking, which turns out to be black clef constantly by people illegally parking in a red zone to check in. I couldn't get in or out until people moved their cars. Front desk didn't seem to think it was important. A fire alarm went off throughout the building in the middle of the night for about 5 minutes. Staff never mentioned it the next day. No apology, notes in elevator, nothing. Finally, I booked the hotel for two nights because it has a pool. It was unusable.... Read more

Homewood Suites in Oakland California was a pleasant surprise. The property is located right on the Marina and there are beautiful walkways by the water. The grounds have beautiful lawns and trees. The pool and hot tub are great, we like to enjoy both. The best thing about our stay was that the staff was great 100% of the time. Pleasant and helpful. We wanted someplace to spend the night close to Oracle Arena. In a car, it only took us 15 minutes to get there and 15 minutes to return. We managed to avoid the traffic and that was wonderful. We did upgrade to a waterview and that was worth the cost.

This hotel looked nice, was clean and in a good location. HOWEVER, the service was disappointing. Breakfast was advertised as a full hot breakfast, but food items ran out often, as did utensils, coffee, orange juice, etc. Staff was not friendly or willing to fix problems promptly nor with a positive attitude.

Nowhere in my original receipt when I booked the hotel did it tell me that I was going to be charged with $50 upon check in for incidentals. So when I was surprised with this when checking in I questioned the staff member and he was very rude and unprofessional when helping me. Other than that it was a fairly decent stay.

This hotel is at a good location - close to the Oakland airport and by a lovely Marina. There is a nice German restaurant on the waterfront 1 block down from the hotel. The hotel room was nice enough and comfortable but the woman on the front desk on May 29 was unhelpful and unfriendly. The "free" breakfast was the worst I have seen. They ran out of food and dishes and seating area. They had a sign on the door leading to the outdoor patio saying "closed" but had no explanation as to why, so... Read more

They're cheap and cut corners. Housekeeping goes in your room against your wishes; staff is unapologetic. Breakfast is repetitive. They don't serve dinner, despite the website and staff saying they will. Stay elsewhere.

If you want breakfast, get there EARLY as they are extremely slow to replenish anything and everything. If you ask for something that is out - and everything is always out- as they only replenish a handful at a time - be prepared to wait. The second time is up, everything is quickly pulled off and out of reach and if you were waiting in line for an item, oh well - out of luck!

Right on the water, quiet location, room clean and well kept, enjoyed kitchen, free parking. Had issues with the bathroom toilet refilling every 20-30 minutes; told front desk but nothing done. Also shower was impossible to adjust temperature, either hot or cold. Vanity was dark and cramped. Breakfast was decent on Saturday, but Sunday they ran out of everything, closed the patio so there was not enough seating, and only appeared to have one girl working - awful!

Homewood Suites has a great location on the water and just off the freeway. We made reservations for a one bedroom suite plus a rollaway, which was confirmed. When we got there they advised that they had no rollaways - not that they had booked all of them, but that they don't offer rollaways at this property - they do not have any. So that was problem number one. That meant two ladies had to share a bed, which we weren't crazy about. We checked into the room and had a freeway view rather than ... Read more

The hotel is located right off the highway (between OAK Airport & Downtown OAK). I booked a studio room that was very spacious by "studio room" standards. The hotel was clean with modern decor, and the property offered free breakfast. The menu isn't extensive but it satisfies those who are on the go in the A.M. (e.g., eggs, bacon, waffles, oatmeal, cereal, bagels, juice). I wouldn't stay here longer than one night because I prefer more amenities and I am very picky about certain things; however,... The hotel room was nice. I was excited about the suite since it allowed a little privacy for my husband and I. I did notice moth holes in the curtains and there were brown stains on the curtain. It is recommended to park in the parking lot unless you want your license plate stolen. Also, the complimentary breakfast is of a poor quality so save your money and go out for breakfast.

We have stayed at this hotel 3 times in the last year. Twice we didn't get any sleep until past 1:00 am because of the noise. Last night, in the room next to us a large group was congregating. That went on until about 11:00 pm, after that it was the family including 4 children making a ruckus. Add to that more noise from upstairs made for a very miserable night. We go to Oakland often, but we will never stay at this place again!

Rooms are nice but can stand to be updated a little more. First room had a musty smell. Therefore, after several complaints we were able to move to another room. Thank goodness to one of the young front clerk desk that was really customer service focused. Breakfast was good however, evening social can be more health conscience. Evening socials menu consist of nachos, hamburgers which they can take charge to expand their menu to more vegetables vegie burgers, turkey burgers etc..

We have stayed here every year for the past 5 years. Some physical improvements are being made. They now have a beautiful outdoor sitting area with grills, tables and fire pits. However, the dinners are not as good of quality, the juice tasted watered down, and the teas are lower quality than they used to be. Our bathroom tiles were cracked and missing lots of grout. Period Stayed: Monday, Oct 3, 2016 t0 Friday, Oct 7, 2016. Rooms: We had a 2 bedroom unit. To make it a 2 bedroom unit, they open the connecting door between a one bedroom and a one bedroom suite. The one bedroom is of a good size with a microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. The one bedroom suite has a separate bedroom, a living room, fully equipped kitchen and a dinning table. Very comfortable unit. Front Staff: We had pre-checked on-line but it still took some time to get the keys. T... Read more

Hotel Rating was way off!!!!! NOT SAFE! RUDE STAFF! NO SERVICE!! Stayed Saturday to Monday - Flew in for the Raider home game. Location poor! With the exception of a loud (German music) German Beer pub (trust me, the people are great, the obnoxious loud German music - no way!!!) There was NO hotel transportation! It cost $45 to take a taxi 1.7 miles R/T to Seven - 11 and back for snacks. YOU ARE STUCK unless you have a car. Oh did I tell you.. NO evening happy hour or food! Cleaning cr... Read more

First night was not worth it. Obnoxious loud party in the room next store. Hotel clerk was less than acommodating and acted like it was my fault the neighbors were loud. Night staff didn't do anything to assist

Nice water front location but everything else is a negative. Easily the worst Homewood suites I've stayed during my travel. Puts Hilton name to a shame. From smelly corridors to stained carpets, it is hard to find any positives. Won't stay here again and would not recommend it either. The hotel is undergoing renovations so it should improve traveler experience but based on my stay here, I wouldn't be coming to this property for sure.

This place is terrible. Filthy, spotty service, inefficient staff and ineffective management. Prices are extremely high for the poor quality and service. Food buffets are of poor quality, and served in construction areas. I overheard many guest complaints. The laundry room is in total disarray, 2 of 4 dryers work, the air conditioning in the laundry room broken for months. I was here for 4 months. The only positive feedback I have about this place is that I did not pay for it out of my own pocke... Read more

Hotel is by a busy interstate and there is construction of the side road in front and the adjoining area. Undergoing renovations which means guests have to be careful walking around construction. Breakfast not very good and better job should have been done of replenishing food. Security minimal. I was checked into a room which was still occupied ! Room view of waterfront is nice as is new outside sitting area but parking limited. You have to have a car to get anywhere. Only place to have lunch... Read more

The hotel is very well located. But, the remodeling is still happening and the facilities are run down. The lobby and first floor were not air conditioned, rooms not so clean, design is very tired and beat up. Bed was comfortable Staff is friendly. Billing inaccurate

First time at a Hilton property as a primary guest lol. My travel day was one more incident from being declared a nightmare. So when I arrived at nearly 2am or later to check in the night auditor/front desk agent was very accommodating and understanding to my day and situation. I can't recall her name, I believe her name begins with an 'H'. Although I had to wait sometime to check in...they had waited so long on me.. I was patient lol. My room was GREAT for the price..for there were a lot of in ... Read more

Horrible customer service I stayed at this location for five months, and for five months they had my billing incorrect. They're complementary breakfast that you actually pay for is never ready when they say it will be ready and they don't care if you have to wait or you can't wait it makes no difference. The washer & dryers do not work are always out of service, and the utility room looks like it should be a one star hotel. Parking is difficult especially when there are vehicles that they... Not only do they still have mattresses and pillows from the year 2000, but their sheets and blankets were super thin and cheap, and their towels were extremely rough. I even found a hair folded in my towel.

This hotel might look like it is in a bad area as you drive there, but in reality it was a gem in the rough. It is really nice, well secured, and a great escape from the busy city. With a sweet German restaurant right down the walking path along the water, and a Starbucks the other direction, it perfectly fit our needs! If you do not want to cross in to San Fran, Alameda has some great Breakfast, lunch, and dinner places. Also, the area called Jack London Square is really cool looking.

I stayed here two nights while on a business trip. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are clean, but outdated. The breakfast food was actually not that bad. Personally I dont care for the location. (I don't understand why none of the Hilton properties around here are centrally located). This property is on the water but not within safe walking distance to Bart. They do run a shuttle every half hour in the morning and on a first come first serve basis in the evening until 9pm. Ove... I am a diamond member for Hilton This property was a huge disappointment Only ice machine is on the first floor. We were on the 3rd. Bed was extremely lumpy ... sucks to sleep on. The shower tops all of that .. it was hard to find warm water, it was either hot or cold. I manage to get in to the to hot water, I soap up, rinse then wash my hair and the water turns freezing cold. I tried but couldn't put my head in the cold water to rinse it. The water was so cold my body couldn't handle i... Read more

Newly remodeled lobby and breakfast area. Extremely poorly designed breakfast area (can't get around easily). And breakfast was not that great. They need to reevaluate the set up, for a better and more manageable flow for guests. We liked how it used to be!

Extremely disappointed at the quality of my stay, several broken items in my room and the trash bins outside my window were unsightly. I asked for help several times and noone ever came. i asked for a rollaway bed because the mattress on the sofa was so springy and the hotel claims they have none. it was one disappointment after another. The only part i enjoyed was the staff at breakfast.. the food selection is slim. very very disappointed.

Excellent hotel and people. We enjoyed the cleanliness and the beautiful harbor view from the hotel balcony. We loved the high ceiling over the bed, the window by the bed, and the sliding door that gives access to the balcony. Although it's a one room suite, it's very spacious and comfortable for a small family. We stayed there 2 nights. It was raining one day so we had to stay inside a little longer than usual during our trip. The views made it less boring to stay in the room.

I booked and paid for a 2 bedroom suite back in Sept. After arriving at Nov 26 12pm on day of check in I was told to come back at 3 because rooms we're not ready which was OK since check in wasn't until 3pm. After coming back at 3pm we we're told that our rooms we're given away by a manager. After 2 hours of scrambling around they ended up splitting our family up into 2 rooms on different floors. We're we're not giving any privacy rooms which we paid for. We we're put into a handicap room n... Read more

The room that was assigned to me was so unacceptable according to Hilton standard. For starters the room was noisy, dirty, and run down.
