This was family visit. Cameron Ameigh, a reservations manager knew this was important to me as I told him that my wife and I were visiting our granddaughters who live close by. He booked us into one of the water side rooms at The Best Western Plus on the same property. This combination property (Executive Inn and Best Western Plus) is the best location in Oakland with excellent large rooms, frontage on the coastal waterway, a heated pool and jacuzzi, free breakfast buffet and full attention by ... Came here for business as there was nothing available in San Francisco. The Inn offers rooms with views of the water. They offer in house dinner at a great rate. For business travelers, they offer free shuttle service to and from local BART, Amtrak, and airport. This is such a relaxing place to stay, who would want to stay in SF.

The rooms was comfortable for my sister who is disabled. The staff was accommodating and pleasant. One draw back, the bar tender Howie was not sociable. He was polite don't get me wrong, but a bar tender generally socializes with the patrons; he did not. I will reiterate he was very polite. He would answer a question, but did not look at you when answering as if, more small talk. I still give you 5 stars. The lady at breakfast, Maria not very nice, the breakfast was very good. 5 stars!

The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Han. She made sure that the airport shuttle wouldn't leave without us and helped us confirm the ride. What a depressing end to a really nice week in SF. While I was waiting for a shuttle to the airport I asked the barman at 2:30pm if the bar was open. This hotel is reasonably priced, so it is an option for the many. But what it really has to offer is its wonderful staff: they are the best of the best. From Howie and Gonzo in the bar/dinner area, to Cristina, Veronica, Enrique, Han, Jorge and Jose at the front desk, to the housekeeping staff, we can't say enough good things. We stayed for 3 nights in early November to visit family in nearby Oakland. Upon our arrival in Oakland Airport, we called the front desk for a ride from the airport on their free shuttle service. The front desk told us where to wait for the shuttle, and shortly the van arrived and the driver was very helpful. During our 3 days, we took advantage of the shuttle to Jack London Square a few times, and indeed used it to go back to the airport. Hint: book your space on the shuttle as soon as yo... Read more

Beautiful facility, great staff, good breakfast. Pop for the bay view worth $20 extra, used the spa and pool-nice! Cool view of SF skyline. Short drive our Lyft over to alameda point ferry, a great way to get to the city. Bed was good, lighting could have been better. We were on the third floor and enjoyed the waterfowl. Highest recommendation!

I'm very impressed with the hotel's clean facilities, great amenities, beautiful water bay view. I enjoy their early breakfast time at 06:00 AM and I'm not in hurry to drive to my office presentation. I will definitely recommended to business and get away travellers. The room at water bay view is serenity and beautiful panoramic sunset.

This is a great hotel with friendly staff. I also liked their fixed menu BBQ every night for a good price you can have steak or salmon (I tried both and they were both good). The free breakfast has plenty to offer and is better than most free breakfasts.

I had a Bay View room which is very serene and peaceful. The food is superb, I recommend the salmon which is prepared on a grill in the patio. In addition they provide complimentary breakfast every morning which is a plus for any hotel.

I blindly chose this hotel at random because of location and pleasantly surprised doesn't cut it! Front desk was friendly and informative. Had dinner and drinks at the bar and the bartender Jorge S. was amazing, friendly and helpful! I'm in customer service and if I wasn't from STL I so would have stolen him to come work with me!! Howie made a great dinner steak and salmon was perfect and yummy! Totally a great start to Oakland! The decor is modest and the hotel is super comfy and really made us... Read more
