Left right after i saw the room. There was blood on the door jam. There was mold in the bathroom, shower and on the main window. There was no carpet just cold floor. It was dirty so I took a towel and wiped the floor in front of the bed and the towel was filthy (see picture). There was no microwave but you could rent one for $5. For some reason we were put in a handicap room. I would never stay at this place. This was a $160 room? Please!

We have stayed at Inn Marin before and was looking forward to our stay. We were staying 2 nights and touring the area. My husband went to the continental breakfast about 9- i put the do not disturb sign out so i could take a shower while he was out and not be surprised by housekeeping. When he returned at 9:30 there was a note in the door stating that because i didn't answer the door at 9:15 our room wouldn't be serviced that day. I stopped at the front desk and asked the manager where is the it... Read more

The Inn Marin has a homey feel, and is fairly convenient to restaurants, shopping, etc. The rooms are clean and comfortable, if a little older. The pool area is quite nice, and there's a lot of grassy area for kids to run around. The restaurant (Ricky's) is good, and the complimentary breakfast is slightly better than the usual. It's a bit close to 101, so there may be freeway noise, but there are rooms available in the back which are much quieter.

Spent a Friday night and am delighted to report that everything was acceptable and enjoyable. Room was clean, the bed was comfortable and as an economical choice, I give it a hearty endorsement. Our room was on the back side of the property and they gave us a room with no neighbors.

The room was clean, the beds comfortable and the breakfast had a good selection. We didn't look for more and we have been very happy with our decision to stay here. Our check-in was fast and the staff very friendly.

We stayed here for two nights. The rooms are small (especially the bathroom) but nicely decorated and clean and they face a beautiful courtyard with swimmingpool. The staff was friendly. Breakfast is average, we enjoyed making our own waffles. It did get quite busy with playing children which might make it less suited for a romantic get away (at least during the weekend).

We arrived ready to enjoy a lovely evening and dinner. We were delighted to have an evening to spend with friends and a new group. It was strange that we were given a handicap room without a view of the garden. We are not disabled, so go figure. The TV and the refrigerator didn't work. Never got the problem resolved during our one night stay. How could that be? We paid the top dollar for our room and for what. So sad, really.

I love staying with my daughter and granddaughter in Novato but when my allergy to the cat got too bad I needed a place nearby for the rest of my stay. We had eaten at Rickey's and liked the music so it was a no brainer to stay at Inn Marin. My room was simple, environmentally considerate and had all the conveniences. There are no scrambled eggs at breakfast but you can make waffles etc.

Photos from the website were accurate. Rooms were renovated. Wood floors were a great idea since hotel carpets are usually nasty. Beds need to be upgraded. Very uncomfortable. Kept rolling into the center of the sagging mattress. Rooms are not very sound insulated either. Had a very amorous couple in the room next door that kept us awake 3x throughout the night. It sounded like they were in the room with us. Very spacious room. Good price. Pretty grounds. If you enter the room from the rear do... Read more

Inn Marin is affordable and comfortable. The AC in our room was a bit noisy, but kept us very cool all night. We liked the easy access to our room, and the side door that leads out to the pool/garden. We sat at one of the tables in the garden area and enjoyed cocktails and snacks. Inn Marin has a terrific restaurant, Ricky's. We had a delicious dinner at Ricky's, with terrific service provided by our server Leslie, and several other employees. The weather was so perfect, we sat outside for di... Read more

We were in the area for a wedding. Because of a local event many other places were fully booked. Although we were feeling lucky we found a place to stay, we were not sure what to expect. This is an older property quite close to the highway. We were initially worried about noise from the road. Our room was toward the back and noise was not a factor. The room was a bit dark, but clean and reasonably spacious. Our room faced toward a large green space which included a pool and spa. We did n... Read more

We recently spent three nights here as part of a group of seven couples traveling in wine country and the Bay area. We had a great experience. Based on TripAdvisor recommendations, we all requested (and got) rooms away from the highway. Accommodations were clean and quiet. The staff was very helpful and polite. We had a fabulous dinner by the pool one evening, and on the night we ordered pizza they set up the patio area with tables and seats for us. They made great recommendations for a co... Read more

Upon arrival, there was total confusion as to our reservation and told ours was cancelled. We finally got a room only to be moved 3 times the first day and refused to move to the fourth room. The front desk was very unaccommodating, especially after driving 400 miles to get there. Recommend? NOT

Just fifteen minutes by freeway from the Golden Gate Bridge, the Inn Marin in Novato, CA, is a bargain. Just off the 101 freeway at Ignacio Blvd./Entrada Drive, the Inn Marin offerscomfortable high quality rooms within lovely grounds, an excellent restaurant and bar (try their signature Pineapple Mojito) in an early California-Spanish motif, and a good sized swimming pool. The friendly and helpful staff is a plus. In addition, you are conveniently located close to lovely Petaluma, Sonoma, and... Read more

My room was clean. The service at the hotel leaves something to be desired. The hotel was aware that I was flying into SFO and would need to be picked up at the Marin Airporter shuttle drop off in Novato/Hamilton. They were told this on more than one occasion and should have had that in their notes for the day's arrivals. On the day of my arrival, I went to call them to confirm my pick up time to be about 2:30 at the drop off. I made this call about 12:30 from SFO. The message I received o... Read more

A pool and hot tub on site to make your day or night wonderful and relaxing. Washing and a work out room on site. Very friendly and professional.Animals are welcome The hotel was very clean, The background music is out of the 1940‚??s and 1950‚??s which created a feeling if dropping back in time the wood paneled lobby with a grand old fireplace reinforced that feeling. We checked into our room in the evening of June 22nd, 2016. The bathroom floor was covered in water. The regular maintenance guy was off and they sent someone to look at the toilet, as that was the issue. He left to get someone else to look. So, we aren't able to unpack or get comfortable after a long day. They "fixed" it. We stepped out for a quick bite and came back to more water on the floor. Sent guy again with duct tape. Bottom line, the toilet wasn't working, they had no other room to give... Read more

Hubby and I went here for an overnight "stay-cation" on a hot summer night. We had not been here for several years, and were surprised how much we'd forgotten about the niceties of this place. Their website pictures are deceiving. This is not an Inn. It is a motel fronting on the Freeway. If I wanted a motel on the highway, Motel 6 is just down the road for 1/3 the price. The front office staff were basically comatose and could not or would not answer questions. The room had a tiny "convenience" Bathroom. The blanket on the bed was thin and ratty. The motel allows dogs. Have a restful stay.

We have stayed here at least once a year for the last 10 years!! We just love it. Love the parking right in front of your unit with easy access for our dogs. Very peaceful and quiet. Wine country is just miles away and so is Sears point raceway which is where we go often to race our car. Ricky's restaurant is awesome food too! Enjoy!!ū??∑ū??∑

While it is convenient located, staff and the owner are doing their best, it is not enough. Place is run down, rooms are small, poorly furnished, bathroom is so tight that for average person is hard to turn around. Bed and bedding are pretty bad. The blanket was a thin as news paper. Air condition is in need of updating: lots of noise and little cool air. Housekeepers are doing a terrible job: wiping a bit, vacuuming a small spot in the middle and that is all. The place has been there a long time. Lobby and restaurant area is clean, bright and renovated. Our room was small and the bathroom smaller. It wasn't really clean if you look behind or touched to top of anything more than eye level it was covered in dust. The shower was hot but not so super powerful. Wi-Fi worked very well. I stayed at Inn Marin on a business trip. Don't expect much in the way of front desk service, the service and food at Rickey's, or a workout room. The front desk couldn't give me a receipt when I left because the staff couldn't figure out how to do it. Rickey's was horrible. The server put in the wrong order and my food was very undercooked. A coworker booked my reservation. The staff was friendly and very helpful. My room was clean. However, as a lone, female traveler, I would've never chosen to have stayed at a motel with 2 doors which opened to the outside (no interior hallways--so anyone can access your doors). I much prefer hotels with a front desk, whereas everyone has to walk by the desk to gain access to guests' doors). I was also very surprised that the Inn Marin was located very, very close to 101S--so my safety concerns ... Read more

I come to Marin County often on business - and manage to fit in some great fun and hiking and social times as well. After staying in various places (including with friends) I found that Inn Marin is where I felt most comfortable, most convenient, and the most for the money. Well all I can say is that they must have a great photographer to make this place look quaint and inviting! BUT it was extremely dirty, dingy, OLD, and run down. Never have my friends and I ever asked to see the room before we completed the check in process. The best thing this place has going for it, is their staff. Kind, pleasant and friendly. Rooms have been redone in the last 10 years. Plank wood floors. Seems clean. Older bathrooms, no bath tub, just shower. This is a budget hotel, more like a higher end motel. It is right off the freeway which you can hear. It has a courtyard that looks really nice and a nice pool, outdoor. The breakfast is included, buffet style, self service.
