this is a fairly new hotel. Value for money in the LA area if you plan on visiting Hollywood. 10-15 mins drive. Surroundings is not safe to roam around at nite as there are lots of homeless people. However, hotel rooms are only accessible by key cards so it's pretty safe. Parking is $9 a nite. Breakfast is the usual holiday inn express standard, decent to fill your tummy.

This is my second stay at this hotel and have been pleased each time. The staff is very pleasant and always there for a question. The rooms are very clean and each room has a refrigerator, microwave oven, and a Kuerig coffee maker. Very convenient for an extended stay. My only gripe with this stay was that the hotel was quite expensive for a small hotel in the middle of the San Fernando Valley.

Stayed here for 3 nights while visiting our daughter. Beautifully styled lobby with hot coffee 24 hours daily. Nice plate of cookies on the front desk every evening. Rooms were extra clean and spacious. Microwave &fridge were a great addition for keeping and heating our leftovers. Morning breakfast was hot, and plentiful. Nice selection of foods, such as eggs, sausage (reg&turkey) bagels, muffins pancakes, fruits , juices and coffee. The workout center was spotless a bit small but a great plus... Read more

This hotel is impeccably clean.Beds are comfortable, staff was friendly and courteous and looked to address any need. The hotel is in a short walking distance to the red line that goes into universal, Hollywood and Downtown L.A. As other reviewers have stated it is not a good area at night, not terrible but you should not venture out by foot There are decent places to eat that are nearby and the front desk gave me plenty of delivery menus to order from. I don't think I would stay here with kids... Read more

Chose this hotel for a quick couples getaway. The hotel is not in the best area, but it is easy to hop on the freeway from here and get to Venice Beach, Hollywood blvd, etc. Parking was inexpensive and the rooftop pool was cute. There is no bar/restaurant in this hotel. Typical IHG breakfast. The room is clean and the bathrooms are nice. If you want some good soul food close to the hotel, go to Sweet Mo's. It's a small place that has GREAT food and cakes right around the corner from the hotel.

it's located in a pretty dodgy area. The hotel is pretty new, staff is great and has paid underground parking. Proximity to theme park and cost of points used are the only reason we stayed at this hotel. It is also close to the Burbank Airport but we flew out of LAX.

We booked two nights here to visit universal and I have to say our stay was very good. The hotel is vey clean and rooms were spacious with all the amenities you need. about a 10 min drive to universal the location is great. I have seen previous reviews about the area but to be honest it's just a little run down. we would definitely return to this hotel.

Hotels in Los Angeles are overpriced generally. We have family in the North Hollywood area so it was nice to find an IHG property in that area. It was still pricey but not as bad as other similar properties. It was quiet and secure. It is fairly close to the Burbank airport.

From the moment we stepped in the building we were greeted warmly and made to feel welcome. The desk clerk and manager were friendly and inviting. They allowed us to check in early and were given a room away from traffic and at the end of the hallway, which was great. I inquired about getting a room with an in-room safe and they responded that all rooms come equipped with them. This set me at ease as we stored a few things there while we were out at theme parks and didn't have to worry at al... Read more

This hotel is relatively new and is well maintained. The immediate neighborhood is not nice but just a few blocks away is the artsy NOHO area. It's also not too far from Universal Studios. The front desk staff is very friendly and greeted us as we arrived in the lobby. The breakfast is standard, but everything is clean and fresh. There is a security guard in the lobby and the front door is only open to key card holders so the place feels safe. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The pool ... Read more

The cleanest hotel with the sweetest employees. Would recommend to anyone visiting the Hollywood area. The hotel smells great and has a modern theme to it. The free breakfast and wifi is also a great plus while on vacation.

It takes a lot for me to love a hotel. This one made it easy. It was impeccably clean. Breakfast was very nice with a much larger selection than most free breakfasts. 9 min to universal studios. Great parking. Pool was nice. Beds are comfortable. Hotel is very quiet. There's a Denny's restaurant across the street. It's in an older residential area but they have a security guard and we didn't see anything that concerned us. I would stay here again for sure. Just perfect for a trip to universal or... Read more

Close to Burbank airport for Southwest fliers to avoid LAX. Secure indoor parking was 'only' $8. Easy rental car return at the airport after skycap checkin option. We did not use the shuttle or breakfast due to early flight. The 2nd floor pool looked inviting at night.

A great place for families making a LA trip. We are a family of four. 2 kids and 2 adults. We stayed on the 5th floor. Room was clean and has a microwave and small refridgerator. Clean and comfortable beds. We had the queen size beds which fit us comfortably (and we have a quite big and tall family). The breakfast buffet runs from 630AM to 9AM and it was perfect! They switch the hot foods everyday so some days you had cheese omelets with bacon or scrambled eggs with sausage. There is a pancake m... Read more

My second stay here and it is a very nice, clean hotel. Staff is super friendly! It is very close to the North Hollywood subway station which is convenient. However, it is pricey but not sure you could find a nicer place at a lower cost in the area. If I come back again I will stay here again. Parking is convenient as well.

I was here for 1 full week. This is by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Friendly and super helpful staff in all areas. Beautiful room with fridge/freezer and microwave. We stayed for 3 nights to visit Universal Studios and Hollywood. It is not too far of a drive to get there. It can take time if there is a lot of traffic. Rooms were clean and modern. Staff friendly. Good hot breakfast. There is parking underground. We did come back late one night and got the last space. I don't know where you would park if it was full. It is in a sort of a sketchy neighborhood but I felt safe and secure in the hotel. Would stay again.

Even though North Hollywood is a bit rough, our family felt safe here. There was decent security for the front door and for our car a nice protected garage. We wanted to save some driving and be conveniently located to the Hollywood Studios which my son wanted to tour, so this location worked great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They assisted us with some directions and they even had cookies available one afternoon when we arrived back into the building. The breakfast bar is quite good... Read more

My family visited here for a week. The rooms were very neat and clean, and the services they offered were perfect. We met a nice gentleman called Victor and Charles and wanted to leave good feedback as a thank them for their hard work. The food served during breakfasts were plentiful and tasty too. Definitely would stay here again and recommend it to others.

I found this hotel pricey and my room on the street side was noisy. Garbage trucks, sirens and loud mufflers made my night an "adventure ". But, a friendly staff helped me to feel better about my stay. A lot of hotels could and should learn this lesson. You can't control everything, but you are empowered to be nice and to be friendly. For the bean counters in the office, that is something that is free. It begins and ends with management. The team at this HIE, got this message. Thanks! I... Read more

This Hotel is centrally located to Burbank Airport, shopping centers and eateries. It's a newer hotel only being 2 yrs old. The rooms are very clean, the beds are comfortable and there's ample room and they all come with a microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. This was the cheapest (doesn't mean CHEAP though) option we found around the universal. We were quite pleased with it. Room was spacious and clean. Lobby was nice, stuff was helpful. the views were far from spectacular. there is a parking but it costs $9 extra. Breakfast was ok as long as you stayed away from the "hot breakfast" items which were inedible. I don't think it's walkable to Universal but it was under $6 and 10 minutes each way on Uber. there was a tiny outdoor pool (more like a large... Read more

New property and it all works well. A couple of notes: * Due to the local attractions such as Universal, all hotels in this area are expensive. * Immediately outside of the hotel there's nothing of interest, mostly car dealerships and some run-down auto repair shops. So you'll need a car to get around. I didn't find it intimidating - as some reviewers have - but it's not like the rest of Burbank. * The imposition of a $9 parking fee per day is a bit much - there aren't really any alternatives... The rooms are nice, clean and very well appointed. There was no complaint from us as we were expecting less but got so much more. I was on a business trip however it was close to Universal Studios. This place is an oasis in an industrial neighborhood. As we drove toward the hotel we were surrounded by auto repair shops and car dealers. But once you step inside, you are in another world. Nice, new hotel with decent amenities and a friendly staff. The door facing the main road is actually the back door and the lobby entrance is on the inside. Easy access from the 170 freeway. Like all Holiday Inn Express it was clean, nice, comfortable, good breakfast, but the location is a problem. It is in a scary neighborhood, It is close to Universal Studios only about 8 minutes away. We also went to Warner Bros. Studios while there. My husband asked the front clerk about parking near Universal Studios and she acted like she did not know anything about it or how much it cost. Not much help.

We did not enjoy the location much, as it seemed a bit rundown with not much in the direct area. If you need to stay north of the hills for a few nights, I would recommend this place if you found a reasonable rate though. It was clean, service was good, and the breakfast buffet was great(cinnamon rolls were awesome). Gym was just awful, and I actually ended up just leaving instead of working out(no weights, 1 treadmill). Overall a good stay.
