Stayed here for Mother's Day weekend. Had a beautiful suite (for not a lot of money). Since this hotel is close to the airport and business centers, I believe this hotel is under utilized for guests on vacation. It was quiet, room service was delicious and the staff accommodating. My only glitch was due to housekeeping. Coffee cups in the room were not properly cleaned (hot water and soap did the trick) and there was no lotion in the bathrooms (quickly remedied by asking the housekeeper to ... Read more

The location of this hotel is excellent - across the street from the airport, plenty of options for dining near-by - many in walking distance, and easy on/off from the major highways to reach your destinations. The rooms are clean, hotel is beautifully set and the staff provides excellent service day and night. My only negative feedback is the restaurant staff on-site, particularly during breakfast. Our first day it took us 30 min to get our food; we were on business and placed our orders righ... Read more

We have stayed here several years in a row for an annual meeting, and love staying here! The service is top notch and the quality is very high! We really love the fire pit in the evenings! The location of the hotel in relation to the SNA airport is also very helpful for attendees flying in. Highly recommend!

You know when you get to a hotel and think "wish we were staying somewhere else", well this was one of those places. Uninspiring, not very friendly staff, compulsory valet parking at $32 a night - err hello, am I in a big inner city? Oh no, I'm stuck out near a noisey airport! Rooms are drab and dated and the free WiFi only works in certain places, not in your room. Needless to say, spent most of our time away from the hotel.... I can't get over the valet parking, it's just such a rip off. Staye... Read more

The hotel itself is decent. This is a perfect establishment for guests with dogs, and we sure saw a bunch of guests with dogs large and small. However several issues that just bugged: #1. no alternatives to valet. Parking is already pricey at $32 per night. But because you are forced to valet, you then have to shell out tips each and every time you get your car. #2. ice machine is on the 4th floor so to get ice, you got to get into the elevator each and every time. #3. tried to make my co... W e recently stayed at the Fairmont Newport Beach for one night. We booked two rooms. The hotel is very nice. Not as luxurious as some other Fairmont properties, but perfect for our needs. The hotel has a great pool and cabanas, very nice spa, and a good restautant. The staff is just outstanding. They were helpful and courteous. I enjoyed this place. I got a room with a great view of the pool (was sad I didn't have time to visit it). The halls were quiet, the food served at/by the bar is good, room service delivers late, and valet isn't too expensive. Cleanliness/presentation could be looked into a little more, as my robe had a stain down the sleeve that turned me off from using it, but this by all means did not ruin my stay.

I enjoyed the service at this hotel. The staff were polite, helpful and sincere. They went out of their way to help me with getting to the airport, returning a rent car and making sure they did not waste MY time. Everything worked in the hotel room but the AC was a bit loud, probably an older type system. Other than that it was super. Reasonably priced and comfortable and so close to airport.

This was a last minute reservation because our reservations at another hotel were cancelled by the hotel. The Fairmont was happy to accommodate us and even gave us a discount. The pool is small but nice. There is a nice bar located in the pool area. The fitness center was excellent. My husband and I had a great workout. Plenty of weights, machines and treadmills for all.

Our room was a one bedroom suite located next to an ice machine that dumped ice all night long. As soon as the ice dumped a very loud compressor kicked on............needless to say, we got no sleep for both nights we were there. The hotel staff assured us they would fix the problem for our second night but the same thing happened. When we asked to be moved we were told that we would have to down grade to a smaller room. Arrived at fairmont Newport Beach Excited to be ending our California holiday in Newport Beach. I was travelling with my mom and two teenage daughters. Since we arrived at noon and check in was at 4 they offered us an upgraded room for 60.00 more a night. This definitely was not worth the cost as the only real difference was a balcony. We chose to stay in a suite at the Fairmont for nearly a week and were quite excited. However, I can certainly say I would choose to stay elsewhere unless given a serious room discount in the future. I don't understand what it is that Fairmont thinks they are offering to justify a $370/night price tag on a suite. The bathrooms were small and didn't offer any upgraded amenities. I stayed three nights in this hotel for business travel. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The small bug I spotted in the bathroom probably wasn't their fault. It is near the airport and centrally located to other Newport Beach attractions. Came to CA to visit my daughter and decided to stay here for it's convenience to the school. Got in later in the night and was first greeted by the valet. Didn't realize that it was the only way to park the car, and that it was $32/night plus tips. I would say that this was the biggest drawback, hence the 4 instead of a 5. This hotel charges for EVERYTHING! Parking is $32 per night; you must valet, there is no self-parking. WiFi is a minimum of $10 per day in the guest rooms.
