Pleasant staff. As choice members we were greeted with a welcome bag of bottled water and chips...a nice touch. The room, although very outdated, was sufficiently clean. The shower walls could use additional attention to the grout as mildew was present. The A/C was very loud when turning on/off, thus we kept the fan running at night to keep from being awaken by the loud clanking noise. Good location if you want to use the Trolley (light rail) system...only a few blocks away. My one warning on ... Read more

We had free hotel points and trip advisor said this place had excellent reviews so we tried it out. First impressions are huge! There are signs everywhere regarding security and when we pull up, the security guy is smoking in the parking lot. No baggage guys to greet you or anything. We walk through what appears to be the back door of the hotel and that takes you through a hallway to the front desk. Front desk staff was friendly. We get our key. I get ready in our room and go to leave, th... Read more

Fortunately we were only there for one night. My first impression was awful! The lobby looked messy but I had to admit that the lady who helped us with the check in was very nice. We went up to our floor and when elevator doors opened we weren't sure if we were in the attic or manteinance room, the walls were dirty and the painting was cracked and peeling. We went to our room and the bed wasn't made or someone had been laying there before! The sink was dirty, the plastic cups were used, the hand... Read more

I had to attend my Annual two-week Training at the Navy base in San Diego. I chose this hotel because it is very close to the 28th street exit and gate I only stayed one night at the Clarion hotel. The parking was included but did not have security to patrol the parking lot. They did have surveillance cameras, no security staff to ensure that my vehicle was safe. Even though this hotel was close to the base I decided to leave due to some seedy activity in the immediate vicinity of this hotel. Wh... Read more

For several years, my husband and I have stayed at this hotel to visit a family member who lives close by. There are many pros of staying this hotel and some cons but I believe the pros far outweigh the cons. The Pros: 1. The price is very reasonable for San Diego area. Downtown is 15 minutes away by car. 2. The front desk service, especially Doris, is outstanding and so helpful and pleasant. 3. We have never had a problem with the comfort or the cleanliness in the room itself. We made one re... Read more

Best thing about this hotel is its close proximity to I-5, but the noise also accompanies it. The price is right for a location near San Diego, only a few miles/minutes to the zoo, museums, local attractions, etc. Hotel has a bar and restaurant, which is convenient, but not the greatest. Jack in the Box is within walking distance and Walmart is a short drive away. Quite a bit of foot traffic around the streets and parking lot, which made me a bit nervous, but had no issues. Ice machines wer... Read more

We arrived a few minutes early and the nice lady at the front desk told us to come back in about an hour and that we would be upgraded. Upon returning an hour later, we were greeted with a goody bag and had been given an "upgraded" room with a view of the Coronado Bridge. Check in was super easy and the hotel lobby is very clean. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The building on the other hand---the outside looks nice, but the room we stayed in needed a few upgrades. The curtains/ca... Read more

I booked this hotel through Price Line and got a great deal. I'm not terribly picky about hotels. My requirements are clean and safe. Check in was easy. Because I am a choice member I got a goodie bag with a bottle of water & some Miss Vickie's chips. I'm only a member because I called to confirm my reservation a few days before my trip and was signed up over the phone. Our room was good sized with 2 double beds, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker & flat screen TV. We dropped off our stuff and... Read more

We used Priceline Express deals to book a hotel in the Chula Vista area, and this is what we got. It's not in a great neighborhood; certainly not one where you would feel safe taking a walk in the evening. The furniture, carpet, and phones in the room look like they're from the 80's. The dining room staff didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing, and seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves in the back room rather than serving customers. The worst part: They didn't hav... Read more

Well where do I begin ? Lets start with the parking garage . Filthy awful. Elevator horrible torn up and filthy. Hallway to our room scary and filthy . View was god awful ( am pm and Jack in Box ( don't go there either ) In a bad area but seemed pretty safe since it is near. police station . Room awful. Scary . We had not been to San Diego since 1980 so we did not know that to get a good place you have to pay 500.00. No ice bucket. No drinking glasses. coffee was brown water. Anyway we were ha... Read more

Have expectation for this 3-star when booked it but after check-in found out it doesn't deserve these stars. The hotel is old and not very well cared, the hallways are dirty and the rooms outdated and dirty. No restaurants in the area only the hotel restaurant. I will not return.

Stayed in the 7th Floor, excellent view of the bay. Easy access to Freeway. Decent room with responsive front desk and housekeeping staff. Enough covered and uncovered parking. Good return for the money you send.

In all fairness I booked this place completely last- minute as on a "deal" website. We booked the room for about $100 which was much cheaper than many San Diego hotels. When we checked into the hotel we were greeted by a very kind gentleman that informed us that they only smoking rooms available. He did offer to have someone come to our room to "spray" it so the smell would be decreased. As an asthmatic, this prospect seemed like worse trouble! We proceed to the room with a "we can survive one... Read more

I booked this hotel because it had a 3 star. Big mistake! The AC was super noisy, never cooled up and didn't let us sleep. The room was too hot the entire night. The housekeeping did a great job in cleaning but it is so old and outdated it felt disgusting. The curtain had two big holes, no privacy. The stairs stink really bad like urine and had stains aswell. There is alot of "activity" going on. People just come and go, didn't know if something unsafe was going to happen to my family or ... Read more

I had the most pleasant experience making room reservations with Paul Herman. He genuinely cared about getting me what I needed. He also took care and ensured that the person that was staying there had everything he needed. I am truly grateful for his customer service it is very rare now a days to be treated with such respect and care. You are a ROCKSTAR Paul Thank You!!!
