A bit over rated, the Clement is not bad but hardly a four star. Rooms, including an ocean view suite were clean and comfortable but somewhat cramped. Service was typical of a 3 star chain except for bell service which was very prompt and polite. Restaurant very average as well. Overpriced because of location.

A superb Hotel. Chic, classy with outstanding service. Reception staff made you feel special. Our King bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in. Luxurious, with Indian cotton sheets and pillow cases. Our room had a huge enclosed real flame gas fire to make it so cosy. Large bathroom with separate bath and shower cubicle. If you go to intercontinental Monterrey don't forget to book a room with a view. The hotel is nice but I had a stay with a brick wall view!!!! Very disappointed.... Me and my parents which shows this must be a standard. If you ever go to Monterrey you would better stay in Carmel. Nicely neighborhood. Beautiful people and no brick walls!!!

Stayed with my mum & daughter, service was very attentive especially the doorman & valet parking. Lovely rooms although would have been nice to have a seaview, however hadnt requested when I booked. Breakfast was excellent. The only complain really was the happy hour, only one cocktail on offer on the menu compared to long list of beers & the 'tapas' on the menu that were included in the happy hour - 2 that we choose were not available out of a list of 5?? What we did have was very good though!

From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out was amazing. We were in town for less than happy news. The InterContinenal took care of every need along the way. We needed cocktails at one point and the bar and restaurant were happy to oblige. At another point we needed help getting to a specific hospital. They were on it. Then, ultimately we asked what our kids would like and they had the BEST service. We recieved complimentary passes to the aquarium! We are now members of the aquari... Read more

The InterContinental The Clermont Monterey is located on the waterfront with the Monterey Bay Aquarium just steps to the west and the Cannery Row going to the east. Parking (valet) is quick and efficient and included in the hotel cost; we were in and out quite a bit most days and there was never more than a few minutes wait for our car. Our room was large, well-appointed and quiet. We did not have an ocean view (we were across the street from the building with the hotel lobby) but we had a la... Read more

Booked a junior sweet for my wife and I with a "partial ocean view" from our balcony. It was more of a view of bubba grump and a very small area of ocean. Also, if our small small room was a junior suite, I can only imagine how SMALL the sweets would be. The only thing about this hotel that met my expectations was the staff. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Next time I come to Monterey I will stay somewhere else for sure. After my stay here, I feel like got hoodwinked for the price I ... Read more

We did valet parking for $26. If you become an Intercontinental member (free) there is complimentary wifi in the room.

The Clement wants to be a top destination, and certainly when it comes to the staff and location they have a great advantage: both are superb. The building is a bit run down. I could not believe the stains on the curtains, carpet and furniture in our room. Would I go back? Probably just because of the staff, but I would expect to find the property in a condition that matches the price.

There are many different types of room options and locations on the property. The hotel has always been clean and well maintained during my visits. There are many restaurants and attractions within walking distance. Families and business travelers alike will feel at home at this location.

The rooms were excellent, with comfortable beds and a very spacious bathroom. The hotel was very centrally located, with a terrace and breakfast room facing out onto the bay. My wife treated us to a stay here the night before going eagle watching. It was our first visit to Monterey so this was THE perfect location to explore the high street and local bars and restaurants. Convenient valet parking meant no hassle at all - we were checked in and back out to explore the area within 20 mins. We only got a standard room as suites were sold out, however, the double queen bed room was fine for my wife and I and 2 kids just for a night. Much larger than I expected and the ... Read more

We spent two nights at this smart oceanfront hotel. We arrived by car, and valet parking was the only option as car parks full until after 5pm, but valet service was very convenient and efficient. As we were a bit early, our room wasn't ready, so we had a drink in the very relaxing ocean view bar, which was delightful. We were texted when our room was ready - we were disappointed that our room was across a "sky bridge" into a separate building across Cannery Row, and overlooking the road, which ... Read more

This hotel is in a wonderful location right next to the aquarium and in the heart of Cannery Row. The staff are amazing and helpful, and the rooms are very comfortable. One of my favorite parts about the hotel was the amazing shower with dual shower heads. The only real complaint I had about the hotel was the disgusting bathroom mirror that was old and had some sort of fuzz or mold on it. That definitely detracted from what would have otherwise been a 5 star experience.

The Hotel is in a lovely building just in front of the sea with all the Monterrey bay in front. Rooms are nicely furnished and big. Bathrooms are newly done and all the complementary things they give you high quality. Staff extremely nice. Really liked it! Plus is 20 meters away from the Acuarium..

Sitting in the balcony, watching the waves crash on to the pier and retaining wall; the sea gulls flying by with the occasional otters spotted; the hotel is simply one of the best in town. We parked a block up the hill in a parking deck where you have 24 hour in and out access with a hotel card key, and spent the day driving along 17 mile drive and wandering the little shops in Carmel. Plenty to eat around the hotel, and the staff cannot be nicer. Rooms are well kept

Our family of four enjoyed a short vacation here. We have an almost 3y/o toddler boy that loves the aquarium and a 5 week old newborn. The partial ocean view was nice. My son loved peaking outside the little balcony to see the ocean waves and the birds. The location is perfect for going to the aquarium for 1.5-3 hour visits. The aquarium is an effortless walk from the hotel which was important to us. This way we could easily go back to the room for the kids to nap. We enjoy the restau... Read more

This is a great hotel in a lovely area. Cannery row is quirky and it this hotel, much like Intercons the world over, provides a little sanctuary in the heart of the neighborhood. I was only there overnight so I didn't make use of much other than they room - but I had a large room with a relatively nice (there are better to be had in the hotel) view of the water. The shared spaces are clean, luxurious feeling, and very nicely decorated. I would absolutely return here should I find myself in the... Read more

We had a partial view room. The decor is simple kinda institutional but nice enough. View from room 354 was very nice. But JOHN WEST at the front desk made everything spectacular. He is amazing. Ask for him

I unexpectedly stayed at this hotel again when I was in the area visiting family. I was supposed to stay with my family in the area, but was suddenly very ill and needed somewhere to stay so that I did not get anyone else sick. I called the Clement to tell them I was arriving at 9am, and when I got there, they already had a room set up for me so that I could rest. Charlotte was amazing and made sure I was taken care of and then the Manager Cody called me later to see if I needed any cold medicin... Read more

This was our 2nd hotel of 7 on our Pacific Coast roadtrip and I must admit it was probably our second favorite. Good things, nice room although we didn't have a seaview, clean and modern and apart from ocean background not much noise. Good check in and valet parking (this is at a cost) and bar staff, including the most efficient barman Bill. Things that stopped this being an excellent review- WIFI $10.00 per day plus tax- really in this day and age was it necessary to charge? when smaller e... Read more

Top notch hotel with everything you would expect for such high quality! The design of the building with the wooden slatted walls and the railings round the promenade are make a very exciting challenge. The room we had looked out onto the street and it was nice just watching the tourists going about their Sightseeing from the balcony we had. Room was large with very comfortable king size bed and arch chair and padded pour. Bathroom. Dry large with good shower in a shower cubicle. Never been in a ... Read more

The hotel is right beside the aquarium, right in the heart of the shops/restaurants. It is on the ocean with a gorgeous outside sitting area with fire pits, beautiful views of sunset/sunrise. The hotel was very clean and well kept. We arrived very early and I requested an early checkin but room was not ready until 3:30pm. I would definitely stay here again if we are fortunate enough to get the beautiful city of Monterey again. The hotel concierge also sells aquarium tickets for $10 off gate pric... Read more

We booked this hotel due to it's location to the Aquarium, and it is VERY close! Our goal was to walk everywhere and not use our car during our visit except for arriving and departing (and we achieved our goal). What we liked: Check in was painless, we drove into the valet circle, removed our luggage and walked into the reception. Parking was included in our room rate, which was an added plus. The room was nicely appointed and very clean; the bathroom had a separate shower and bathtub. ... Read more

On a recent trip to visit friends in the area, I decided to take an early day to gather my wits and catch my breath before settling in to the celebrations with my friends. The only thing that would suffice was the sound and view of the Pacific, a room service meal enhanced by a great wine. Having spent some wonderful nights in the past at The Clement Monterey, my concern was for my newly acquired doggies. I had no idea how welcome they would be to my darling little critters. You would have thoug... Read more

We stayed 2 nights as part of our California road trip. The hotel is in a great location on Cannery Row and is right next to the aquarium. Our room was lovely with both a bath and a shower in it with lovely smelling products. Wifi was not included, which is disappointing in a hotel of this standard. Every other hotel we stayed had this included, so this is clearly not the norm. We used the valet parking for our stay and it came in at $29, although it looks like this varies depending on the ... We spent our first two days of our honeymoon in Monterey and stayed right on the water. Be sure to call ahead to make sure you book the right room so that you have ocean views, as the pictures on the website do not match each room selection. Otherwise, fantastic locations- easy to walk everywhere. Friendly staff and great service. Will be back again sometime!
