We stayed in a suite for only one night. It's a large complex with several entrances. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The suit is relatively old but huge and it has a huge bed, fireplace, microwave and kettle. There is a sofa and a large tv screen. Everything was very clean. The bathroom had both bathtub and a shower. No mold. They have parking garage but they charge it 20$ per night which is a bit too expensive for such a small town. We had breakfast, all the usual (no cheese or me... Read more

We got a suit at this hotel which was beautiful, a nice design and very clean. We visited on our honeymoon and the staff congratulated us at checkin and left a really nice hand written card for us in our room with some wine which was a very nice touch. The only thing letting it down is the need to pay for parking which I think is a bit disappointing and only done because all others in the area do the same. The small courtyards throughout the hotel are a really nice place to sit

This hotel is actually pretty nice. Rooms are big, clean and cosy, staff is helpfull and it's only a 5' walk to the Warf with all the restaurants. You'll need 20-30' to the Aquarium. The price is ok for what you get.

We stayed in Monterey a few years ago staying by the Aquaruim, this time we decided to try the other side and I am pleased we did. We stayed here for 3 nights in a luxury junior suite the room was lovely and spacious and we had no street noise we had no problems getting wifi in our room. Location excellent plenty of restaurants in walking distance , parking was 20 dollars a night which I did not think was to bad to have somewhere safe to park. The breakfast room / business centre (you have to go there if you want to use the wi-fi) is freezing in the morning and evening because it is completely open. Not sure how they manage this in the winter. I'd assume it's even worse. The hotel is not without it's charm. It's very old and some of the staff are friendly such as the breakfast room ladies and the night watchman. (Front desk welcoming people not as much). The rooms are spacious and offer kitchenettes. Parking is 20 dollars per day and under the hotel wi fi is free I'm glad we only stayed for one night the traffic noise from the room was terrible and virtually all night Breakfast is enclosed and was fruit bread and juices the breakfast room was bright and clean but overall feel they could do better.

We stayed here on the Monterey leg of our recent honeymoon. Cant fault our room. It was pretty large, even with a log fire. They left us a bottle of bubbly with their compliments. Cant say much else as we only stayed for the one night after driving the Pacific Coast Highway from Santa Barbara, arrived around 8:30pm and left by 10am to go to the Aquarium and onwards to San Francisco. The only thing that does stick in the mind was that breakfast was poor. I would have expected much better fo... Read more

Stayed here for one night during a trip through California. Honestly, it was fine but desperately needs renovation. Rooms are very tired (although our bathroom appeared new) and the fixtures and fittings are clearly very old. The breakfast was one of the worst dining experiences I've endured. It was free (or at least included in our room rate) so we just got some fruit and grey water (I think it was coffee?) and left. The hotel is a great location, but I think better hotels can be found in the... Read more

I stayed one night with friends and it was the nicest hotel room that we had ever had. The rooms were enormous, with separate dining and lounge areas. The lounge zone even had a wonderful wood fire with gas burner which was easy to start. There was plenty of good lighting throughout the room, something that I REALLY appreciate. We love the Hotel Pacific for the quiet, large rooms, excellent location and the amazing staff. Every morning, I would simply walk across the street (along the Path of History) to get on the rec trail for a nice walk along the water. Be sure to check out all the beautiful gardens Monterey has to offer right next to the hotel. After a long day of sightseeing, it was nice to sit on our deck and relax to the sound of the fountain. We can't wait to return!

Stayed at the Hotel Pacific during a two-day trip to Monterey and it's a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are very generous in size and the layout of the hotel feels like a country club with central courtyards, fountains and a spacious lobby. It feels homely and secluded despite being a short walk from the central streets of Monterey that are lined with shops and bars. Definitely recommended.

Lovely hotel which is a short walk away from the centre of Monterey. The hotel room was on the top floor, and had 2 massive beds, and 2 showers, along with a small balcony. We booked this hotel hoping it would be quiet and peaceful, since it is fairly close to the water. Our experience was quite not peaceful. The noise in the room was ridiculously loud. We heard fire trucks and ambulances all night. The noise from the rolling suitcases and people in the hallways felt like it was inside our room. Room was very large and looked like it was probably luxureous a decade or so ago, but felt worn. The bathroom had nice upgraded double showers, but there was some hair and didn't seem so clean to me. Beds had good and clean linens and was comfortable. No air conditioning which wasn't a problem, but I would guess could be at some times of the year. Parking was... Read more

We had a huge, comfortable room with a lounge area and 2 showers. From that perspective the hotel was great. On the negative side, the room was quite noisy, parking was expensive and breakfast was an unpleasant experience with far too few tables for the number of guests.

Effortless check in with super friendly staff, who gave us maps and info as well, Rooms turned out to be recently re-furbished, and were really comfortable and quiet. Rooms had the feel of Caribbean about them, they were fabulous. Only stayed one night, breakfast next morning was excellent, parking was easy, underground, Problem with WC was attended to within 5 minutes, would return again.

Don't bother if you want a little lie in? The maids trolley make you feel like you are in a railway yard, non stop from about 8.30am. Location okay, facilities average, ground floor patio not very nice(see photo) and room okay. Needs a facelift

Made a mistake a wrote a review for monterey hotel but it was the hotel pacific in monterey and just wanted to leave this review as the hotel was stunning. We arrived for 1 night in monterey and the hotel room was like an apartment. It was stunning!! There is a hot tub which is small but fitted the 4 of us. There wasn't to much to do in the area but it didn't bother us as we had been travelling so was nice to just relax. Staff were very helpful with getting us to our next location.

I have been staying here for the past 10 years. I have always loved the comfort and size of the rooms. Location is good too. This past stay I found the hotel had started a renovation. So far so good. Unfortunately the first room they gave me had been renvoated but was very dark, smelled and faced Pacific Avenue which made the room very noisy from the traffic. They happily switched me to another room which faced the courtyard and was bright. The maid service never replenished my dishes, glasses ... Read more

Every other hotel has been absolutely wonderful. We had sent the hotel and email to let them know we were celebrating our 40th anniversary. The email is sent via the hotels website. They were the only hotel from the nine hotels booked which did not acknowledge our email with a reply. Every other hotel acknowledged our email and every other ... Read more

Helpful & friendly staff. The overall look and decor is great. We had a nice enough decent junior suite, though the double-glazing could do with some work. In terms of food, the breakfast set-up is missing a trick or two and although they offer free afternoon tea, not having tried it, I can‚??t comment on the quality. The location for the touristy stuff is very good indeed. A two-shower bathroom and separate loo in the junior suite is always welcome. Avoid getting a room/suite at the front of t... Read more

Felt like we had our own apartment right in the heart of Monterey. We stayed in one of the unique rooms - 136, which had its own private entrance off the street. The courtyard with the lovely fountain and fire pit made me want to put my feet up and relax. The staff were very helpful in everything asked and suggested excellent places to eat that were within an easy walking distance down on the bay. All in all we would have loved to stay longer.

Hotel Pacific is situated in very close walking and driving distance to many of Monterey's key attractions. My room was very large and very comfortable and I was overjoyed to have a working fireplace. The hotel is noisy, though, because of its location, the construction in the area, and, I would guess, the fact the hotel is older--very easy to hear people above, below, the street, and walking around.
