We had a King bed room. It was interesting in that it had a tub/shower in the corner of the room with a painting on the ceiling. There were a couple steps leading up to get inside. The room also had a fireplace in another corner, which was a nice touch.

It's a days inn so it's not the ritz. However location is great. Rooms were clean and tidy. If you want to enjoy the area or going to Laguna Seca this is a great option. Also was not price gouging during a race weekend which is a big plus for me. Normally see jacked up rates that aren't even fair anymore. Staff was very friendly. Internet was more than adequate which is a big plug.

I recently went on a week-long trip to the west coast with two friends and planning was kind of tedious as we were on standby for flights. As a result, a mistake was made in hotel reservation. Was shocked when I received a reminder to check in to this hotel in a third party app on a date earlier than I was supposed to check-in. I contacted the hotel to appeal for change without charges. The manager of Days Inn Monterey Fisherman's Wharf replied promptly to say that they will help me change witho... Read more

Outdated but clean. It seemed like they shoved every piece of furniture they could find in this room. It's not the type of place where you would want spend time in your room and with the cool climate Monterey you'll likely need too. It's a long walk to the wharf, about 2.5 miles. We got a discount on this room but would have been worth the extra money to stay closer to down town.

First: There are TWO Days Inns in Monterey, one "Downtown" (which is downtown) and this one "Fisherman's Wharf/Aquarium" (which is nowhere near either). Easy to go to the wrong one (we know). This one on Munras, in the middle of motel row, is right across from the biggest mall in Monterey, if you like to shop. The rooms are smallish, business-class, with a relatively complete amenities checklist (trouble with internet while we were there), AND a working gas fireplace. Since it is often cool in M... We didn't have solid plans along are coastal drive so we booked last minute many other hotels were either booked or crazy expensive. Beds and pillows extremely comfy.! Room was clean. Breakfast was just toast, cereal, oatmeal yogurt and some fruit. But I was free an saves time when you have lots of things to see and do. Only bad thing was the large desk and dresser that made space a bit tight .. We managed to move the chair to the oddly located closet and tucked 2 suitcase back by the closet... Read more

The hotel was dirty, needs updating and the remodeling was half done in our room (104). The floor was uneven, no ventilation in room with the shower/hot tub being in the main living area. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. For the price we payed to stay for two nights was not worth it the room value. Would not recommend it.

During our trip we enjoyed many DaysInn and Super8 Motels. We are used to have enough space for our luggage, a wardrobe in the room and at least a little space to move. Not here! We were very disappointed how tiny the rooms are at this motel. The room we stayed the first night is out of question, no space, no wardrobe. We received a double queen room for the last 2 nights so we had at least space to leave our cloth on the second queen-bed, the wardrobe had only two cloth hagner. This is very lou... Read more

Our party of 4 adults and 1 child stayed in a room on the ground floor with 2 queen size beds. For the price we booked, it was clean and adequate and was kept clean over the length of our stay. The location was very convenient and we loved the breakfasts provided. I would recommend for an extended stay in the area. What a beautiful part of California. It has changed over 40 years but many landmarks are still present. The aquarium is a must see!

Room was good enough. Average at best, nothing to get excited about. Breakfast was mediocre - meat was hard and "old" tasting, maybe overcooked. Breakfast area in the lobby was too small, practically tripping over folks. Staff was nice enough.

The room was very clean and had modern updates. The breakfast buffet was substantial with oatmeal, granola, yogurt, raison bread toast etc. coffee, juice. The only downside to this hotel are the VERY DANGEROUS steps to the second floor. The steps are not made evenly and cause a major hazard. I was not the only guest commenting on them. For older folks, holding on to the rail is a must, but even for younger individuals the stairs pose a hazard! This hotel should rebuild the steps (perhaps eve... Read more

Where to begin...Well, the musty smell of the room was definitely unpleasant. We tried to get the AC to kick in as soon as we got into our humid room but the wall temperature control wouldn't allow you to go below 78 degrees where it was already set and there was definitely no air blowing. We noticed a unit under the window which was unplugged so we plugged it in and after some fiddling, got the AC on that unit to start working. An unfortunate side effect of the under window unit blowing cold ai... Read more

The photos and the write up of this location appears to be near Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey but is not within walking distance of the Wharf, which was disappointing. Top end for an economy motel within walking distance of Fisherman's Wharf. We liked the location, especially its proximity to a large shopping mall with many food options, including a Whole Foods. We also liked the many electrical outlets for the family's various devices. Breakfast was what you'd expect in a very crowded room.

The public should be paid to stay there. This is the worst motel we have ever stayed. The people running the place were nice, and pleasant to me except to my wife who felt like she was intruding on their space when she stood in tiny office/lobby making a business call. Request a first floor room if you do not want to haul your luggage up steep flights of stairs. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast area was nice, selection ok. I stay in Monterey for work every few months and usually stay at the Comfort Inn, but prices were higher than normal so against my better judgement I took a chance here to save $100 over 3 nights. We spent two nights while visiting Monterey. First the positives - it's a big room and the sheets and bathroom were clean. Breakfast was a very basic continental - cereal or toast but that was fine. If you are simply wanting a cheaper place to sleep for a night then this hotel is okay. Other than that I would not recommend for the following reasons: The stairs to the second floor really need to be re-done - they would be dangerous for anyone who is the least bit unsteady. The Monterey Days Inn Fishermans Wharf (a real misnomer since it is nowhere near Fishermans Wharf) is overpriced and has a poor layout. The tiny room had a king bed and oversized desk which made it almost impossible to move around without hitting something. The breakfast was plain with just bread, cereal and yogourt. The apples were mushy, thus inedible. Wifi was slow. The one good aspect is that it was close to a shopping center with restaurants and easy to get on US 1. We won't be back.

We love visiting Monterey and have had good experiences with other Days Inn locations. This hotel is in a good location and looks cute from the outside but the room we had caused some disappointment. The parking is a challenge too.
