The hotel was great, the staff was very inviting, pleasant, helpful & professional. The breakfast was also well stocked and very well maintained. Their coffe was even better than coffee I've had at cafe's. So they get an extra star for that! I just wish there was more in area to do.

We were celebrating my wife's birthday and had never been to Yosemite. After researching lots of hotels and cities to stay in we settled on Merced. It's about 80 miles into Yosemite from here, but we took the YARTS service and were so happy we did. This hotel is new, modern, clean and convenient to the freeway. One of the better breakfasts we have had included in a hotel stay. We would stay again.

The hotel is nice but do not stay in an odd numbered room. Those rooms face the highway and you will hear trucks and cars all night long. Other than that the hotel was good. The staff was very friendly and it was easy to get on and off the highway from the hotel if you were going to Yosemite.

This is an excellent Hampton. Surprised me how wonderful a Hampton can be. 1) They gave me a wonderful room with brand new furniture, carpet, tile, and a wonderful flat screne tv. 2) Best room refrigerator of any hotel I've stayed at. There's a digital thing to set the temperature instead of "guessing" the temp with a little knob. Its a wonderful idea. 3) They have a "bank" of plug ins on the nightstand so you can plug in all your electronics at once. Wonderful idea. Hotel is clean, r... Read more

My first impression was that the room was very nice, clean and large. I was pleasantly surprised! The bathroom is huge, and Neutrogena toiletries are provided. So far, so good. There's a full-length, door-sized mirror that I was afraid to tug too hard for fear of breaking it, but that's where the closet, iron and ironing board were located. Kudos to whoever designed this room! There's a cabinet that has a microwave and mini-fridge, and there's also a nice desk with two chairs. The next thing... Read more

Very friendly staff and clean place to stay. Standard King room is very small. Pool is very dirty with bugs and algae growing. Location is great as next to HWY 99 and very close to Yosemite as less than 1hr away.

This hotel was odd. The elevators were not working, the treadmill didn't work, the ice machine on the first floor was out of order with instructions to go to the ice machine on the 2nd or 3rd floor which were off the elevators and locked to prevent people from using the elevators but also prevented access to the ice machine. Made no sense. The automatic pool cleaner was left out on the deck for two days. No towels at the pool. The room was fine. Updated and clean. Great location for a stop on ... Read more

Having only 1 elevator was a big problem when there are tour buses. The bus brought teen age girls that made tons of noise and filed the elevator at check out time. They were on the 3rd floor and we were on the 2nd. We actually had to take an empty elevator up with our suitcases so we could get to the 1st floor. The room was ok and large, but the mattress kept sliding around. We've stayed at other Hampton Inns and this is one we won't stay in again.

We travel frequently for pleasure and to visit family, as well as work. We've been members of Hilton/Hampton family of hotels for years. They are always pleasant to deal with and very clean. If there has ever been an issue, they are very quick to try and fix it. We will continue to use them for most of our travel needs

The evening manager Michelle is exceptional and always makes sure our stay is an awesome one! The recent remodel looks fantastic! The pool, hot tub, and gym are all great. One of the better continental breakfasts we have had. Very convenient location right off HWY 99. We will definitely be back!

I booked an event online here. Big mistake. They took a deposit, and then never followed up to discuss the event, AV , or food/beverage needs. I contacted the facility four times, each time leaving my information with the Sales group voicemail, initially requesting a call to discuss the event, and then finally calling to cancel the event. I did speak several times to the operator they have on staff. Nice lady, but only able to pass on the message that I needed to talk to someone from the sale... Read more

This is a great hotel close to the 99 freeway but quiet. The room was clean, bed very comfortable. The bathroom was amazing, large shower, double sinks and clean fluffy towels. The breakfast was your normal hotel continental breakfast, but everything was fresh and they kept it stocked. The staff was great, friendly and helpful. Usually the tripadvisor ratings are spot-on but not this place. I'm a Hilton Diamond member and very loyal to the brand. If all Hamptons were like this, I wouldn't be any longer. First, the treadmill is broken and multiple weights are missing from the set. Second, the room keys keep randomly deactivating (I stay at Hiltons 60+ stays per year and it doesn't happen anywhere else. Maybe it's the old locks). And the final straw was when I walked downstairs to print something only to see 2 cops... Read more

Stayed 2 nights here and 1 night at Holiday Inn Express next door. Hampton Inn was nicer for the same price. Nice clean rooms, good breakfast with a selection of fresh fruit, nice accommodating staff. I did not use the pools at either hotel, but the one at Holiday Inn looked a little cleaner. I would definitely stay here again.

An excellent hotel on the outskirts of Merced. Even though it's next to the freeway, the room was very quiet. The complimentary breakfast has a good variety and includes hot items. The only limitation is the nearby restaurants are limited.

The service was A++ at this Hampton Inn and the room clean and quiet. Breakfast was terrible. Old fruit, bacon taste like nothing, bananas were brown and muffins not fresh. How can you serve something like that??? Not the quality I expect from a Hilton Chain hotel

Great place to start off the hiking trip into the park. They were willing to keep a couple of our bags so we didn't have to worry about locking them in the vehicle while we were hiking for 5 days. Bags were there waiting for us on our return stay. Nice pool and hot tub.

This is a very nice hotel ( minus the terribly lumpy pillows) but the town of Merced is not worth going to. If you are traveling through, keep going!! It just does not have anything to offer. If going to Yosemite stay in Mariposa

We booked our two night stay for our family of 5 through Travelocity. When we checked in to the hotel, the front desk told us we could not fit in the room Travelocity reserved for us. Hampton Inn totally came through!! Gave us an appropriately sized room with a rollaway bed for the same low price we had been quoted through Travelocity!!! Thank you, Hampton Inn and Suites-Merced!!

Not enough seating in the breakfast area. We were sent to the meeting room to eat our breakfast. Breakfast were mini omelettes, potatoes, sausage patties/kielbasa sausage. It was pretty good. We booked our stay on-line, same day. Arrived around 6:30 pm and was greeted by a friendly staff. Room was very cool and bugs! Breakfast the next morning was a little crowded but people were willing to share their tables. Food is always disappointing because we don't eat pork and there is ALWAYS pork! Cannot this hotel chain provide pork-less meats or at least cook eggs w/o pork?? Get with the healthy eating program! We'd stay here again.

If you have to go to Merced in the heat of summer, the Hampton Inn is a respectable place to stay. The rooms are nice and the breakfast is good and the staff is friendly. The A/C units in the rooms are a little noisy, but they work well when it is HOT HOT outside!

There is not much that I really care about in a hotel. The main thing is sleep. All the hotels in Merced are next to the highway and train tracks. The road is busy 24 hours a day. The road surface does not help. There has been nothing done by the hotel to diminish the sound. I really don't care about the breakfast buffet, or the desk staff. I want a good nights sleep. In Merced I could not get it.

Average - was clean - missing coffee pot and when received did not work with the coffee packets provided - was a remodeled older unit ( Ithink) was meant to look modern but ended up having a very utilitarian/industrial "everything grey" look . shower was obviously a fiberglass redo. Room very small No problems at all with staff. Was WAY overpriced for area and value received. $175 a night before taxes etc Not up to Hilton standards

Pool was cold and not heated. Whirlpool spa was found to be coated with algae. Breakfast bagels are for kids, give us adults sausage or bacon on the weekend. With the Hilton brand name associated the this establishment you would expect a better standard. Not with this stay. Hopefully this will not be a trend.

This is the worst hotel that my wife and I have ever stayed in our life. There was mold underneath the wallpaper in the bathroom and was filthy dirty.
